Molly Ringwald has shown up in the last couple of episodes. She's still a very good actress, but I wonder if she's had botox or something. Her face looks odd.

I also think you'd have trouble in the house, Elmore, if you introduce a dog. Thatch would be terrified.

TCB, Jane and George: My friend Pam is having a birthday next week. She and her husband are traveling to the northwest and Vancouver. I thought it might be nice to get her a book from a writer from the region. Any suggestions of someone other than Ken Kesey?

The book doesn't have to be about the area or even set in the area.

I'm glad you understand, Elmore. Also, dogs are a lot more work than cats.

The gods are cruel.  Little 33 lb Scooter, whom I had thought about adopting from the New York ACC has been put on their kill list for Tuesday afternoon.  I may have to adopt him to save his life.

What I hope is that someone will rescue him tomorrow, but if he's not rescued before noon on Tuesday, I will apply for him, just to save him.

Elmore,

Please save Scooter.

But, with all due respect, please don't post about these poor animals that are being murdered.

There is nothing that any of us can really do about it, and hearing about these upcoming murders just makes people feel like shit!

Thank you.

My friend Deb has taken it as her mission to make me into a Beatles fan. I don't dislike their music, I just never got into it. So, she gave me 13 of their albums on CD as a belated Christmas present. I'm listening now to the Beatles' Second Album, which has some fun stuff on it, including Money and Please, Mr. Postman, in both mono and stereo. I admit I'm enjoying it.

Two films I was absolutely sure I saw at the Village in Westwood, The High and the Mighty and The Tender Trap - unless I saw them as previews there, which could certainly be as my parents took me to sneak previews as far back as 1954, when I saw Target Earth as a preview, then I in fact saw both films at the Picwood, which seems really odd to me, but...

In the complete entirety of my whole long, long life I have never attended a sneak preview of a movie.

Just last month, I saw a sneak preview of Alita: Battle Angel.  I saw it just a few days before it officially opened.

DR George might be familiar with Jim Lynch who lives in Olympia.  I have read a couple of his books.

Yes, I know who he is.  A few years ago, my library chose one of his books as our "Timberland Reads Together" title.

I looked it up.  The book was THE HIGHEST TIDE which I discussed with my Ashland book group.

My friend and neighbor Christian Carvajal has published several books:  Lightfall, C Is for Collection, and Rereading the Bible: Agnostic Insights into Genesis, the Gospels, and Revelation.  He also has written Mr. Klein's Wild Ride under the pseudonym of Lynn Savage.
