I've been diligently doing my breathing exercise with the plastic thing where you blow into it and the gauge goes up.


It's a pain in the neck, but I guess it's worth it to avoid developing pneumonia.

some doctors have been recommending breathing exercises to the general public to strengthen our lungs as protection against Covid. Yours relate to your recent surgery?

I, too, watched ENOLA HOLMES yesterday. I enjoyed it. The book is the first in a series. I'd like to see more films from it. I especially liked Helena Bonham Carter as the mother.

I think I only went to Lawry's once. I think I only ate prime rib once -- and not at Lawry's. I don't recall being particularly impressed. Then I became a vegetarian. It suits me.

TOD - There’s a restaurant here called The Meadows that is now a mere shadow of its former self.  But in its heyday, prime rib was one of their specialities and I’d always ask for the end cut because I prefer my meat more cooked than PR usually is in the center.  Two stories:

One night they said I couldn’t have the end because Mrs. So-and-so was coming in later and they always saved it for her.  They weren’t amused when I asked, “What about the other end?”

And another night no one got prime rib, because the person tasked with putting it in to cook after the lunch rush had neglected to turn on the oven.

Around midday, I checked my work email. There were 68 then. I'm dreading finding out what the final total for one day off is.

I am in the last quarter of listening to Maggie O'Farrell's Hamnet, A Novel of the Plague. It's about Shakespeare's son, and it recently won a top book award. It's fascinating. I hope I can finish it before it's due back in two days. I need to make time, if I can.

What is it about Facebook that turns smart people into utter dolts?  There's one very smart, very talented gal, daughter of a famous star, who relentlessly shares the fakest crap memes of anyone I know.  She is called on it repeatedly, by me, by others.  She never responds, never takes down the BS and then a day later she will do it again - literally share anything that she comes across, the latest being about a carjacking scheme that's been debunked as far back as 2004!  It reappears every few years, and has been constantly reappearing for the past two.  It takes three seconds to Google and find Snopes and Fact Check but they never do that EVER.  They just post it and never reply to anyone about that it's fake.  I just don't get it.  Does anyone get it?  I link to Snopes and Fact Check and I should think any reasonably reasonable person would then be embarrassed to have posted it and take it down.  But not this gal.

DR Jeanne I am shocked at the problems you are having with the ophthalmologist's office, covid or not.  Have you tried speaking with the doctor's assistant vs the person who schdules the appointments?
