Last night, I wanted to watch the series premiere of "The Orville" while it was being broadcast, but I fell asleep. It's Seth MacFarlane's new live-action scifi series.
-
Fortunately, I did remember to set my DVR to record it, so I'm going to watch it now. :)

Have a good day, all!

Then there is the love them from Orca called My Love, We Are One. Written by Ennio Morricone and Carol Conners
https://youtu.be/GcQ1vtu7uIQ
I will bring the sun through darkened clouds
And I will live with you rainbows for your eyes
Rainbows for your eyes
My love, we are one
We are one
We are one, cried my love
Let me lead you where the moonlit waters fall
Shadows softly call
My love, we are one
We are one
We are one, cried my love
Let me lead you where the stillness of the night
Delivered dawn's first light
My love, we are one
We are one
We are one
We are one

Grim grinning ghosts song from Disney's Haunted Mansion? But shake it up -- no low male voices, score it high for girls' group.
Lullaby theme from Rosemary's Baby? Did it ever have "sheet music" lyrics put to it? If not, I think we know somebody who could remedy that situation.
A few phrases from the Marius Constant Twilight Zone theme? With, of course, lyrics...?
I'm apparently in full swing movie/TV mode this morning.

The title song from Arnold sung by Shani Wallis. (She would make a great guest star)
Music by George Duning
Lyrics by Andrew J. Fenady
Beginning Version
Love has found a way
On this, our wedding day
Arnold, Arnold
And in a moment now
We will take our vow
Arnold, darling Arnold, tender Arnold
How do I love thee? Just you wait and see!
Arnold, Arnold
And let me count the ways
Through the nights and days...
Arnold, you and me, darling Arnold
Warm, sweet Arnold
End Credit Version: https://youtu.be/WR5zppZQbRw
How do I love thee? Just you wait and see!
Arnold! Arnold!
And let me count the ways
Through the nights and days...
Arnold, you and me, darling Arnold
Warm, sweet Arnold
Through the nights, through the days...
Let me count those wonderful ways!
Life is love, love is no sin
Let's not waste our time...let's begin!
How do I love thee? Just you wait and see!
Arnold! Arnold!
Until our final breath...even better after death!
Arnold, darling Arnold, tender Arnold
Ooo...happy bride and groom, exotic honeymoon
Arnold! Arnold!
They said it couldn't be, but just you wait and see!
Arnold, you and me through eternity
Warm, sweet Arnold
Oh...Arnold, Oh...Arnold!

DR Danise sent me a text and asked me to post.
I don't know if my posts are going through. Just wanted to let everyone know Toby and I are ok. Checked outside, no damage to the house that I can tell.
No power but I got the generator going for the fridge. I think the food is ok.
Losts of trees down-not near me, thank goodness I don't have them anymore.
Car is fine. No damage.
I managed to sleep but it wasn't a good one. I'll be exhausted by the end of the day. Thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers."
-
Monday morning greetings!
DR Vixmom just texted that The Vixter and her boyfriend are OK, but without power. Vixmom has no wi-fi and asked me to post here for her.
-
Thanks DR Ginny. I was wondering why she hadn't posted.
-
DR Michael have you heard news from home? It looks like flying back might be difficult. Do you have a scheduled flight?
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept very poorly. My stomach is still misbehaving.
-
I awoke at 9:00. after sleeping about three hours. Everything before 6:00AM was intermittent. I had a long, rambling dream about an unpleasant encounter with a former best friend and problems with a bank deposit. Just after I dressed, Joshie called to check on me, and we ad a long rambling conversation.
-
I need some breakfast.
-
Nursie, thanks for the update on DR Danise. I need to call Susanna Moross today, if I can get through to her, and check on her and her husband.
-
Kristi's and Nathan's flight to Orlando on Wednesday was unceremoniously cancelled yesterday by JetBlue, but with conditions already improving, they're going to rent a car one-way and drive down, have their vacation, and they've still got their return flight. Due to the airline initiating all of this, they've already got their refund as well as assurances that the return flight is good. And the car rental place is waiving a bunch of charges, etc., due to Irma, so... Lumberton, here they come! (They've reserved the Holiday Inn as well.)
-
Continuing VIBES for the stomach of DR Elmore.

I need some breakfast.

DR TCB, how are you feeling today?
-
DR FJL how are your parents? Will they be able to return home today?
-
DR Michael have you heard news from home? It looks like flying back might be difficult. Do you have a scheduled flight?
I just heard back from a friend. My home and car are fine. There is no power at this time. Th airports are not open. Maybe tomorrow or Wednesday. Then trying to get a flight back
-
Good news. Now, good vibes getting home.
-
DR FJL how are your parents? Will they be able to return home today?
I haven't spoken to them yet.
The shelter called and said people are being allowed to leave today, though.
-
I didn't read the book Hidden Figures. But I did see the dvd and really liked it.
-
Glad to know that DR Danise and The Vixter are okay.

Just spoke to them - my Mom and Dad are home, their phone works, but their power isn't back on yet.

Thanks for the update. It sounds like their home is good. I hope the power won't be out for too many days.

I didn't think to ask if there was any property damage.
But their home helper told me the windows had held up OK.

Good news about DR FJL's parents, DR Michael's home and car, and former DR Jason.
-
Good morning.
-
So glad to hear that our Dear Readers and families did ok in the storm. I was worried about Danise's house surviving.
-
I'm up, I'm up - rough night - only about four hours of sleep.
-
I spent the last hour cleaning out my clothes closet. I tried on every pair of pants and trashed a lot along with shirts and jackets. Now I need to find some place to donate them. I hope they will pick up.

Having windows is good. I suppose if there had been any obvious damage their helper would have mentioned it.

Ask Val. If he belongs to a church he might be very glad to take the clothes to donate.

It was interesting following friends and family on facebook. Some didn't comment at all. One cousin marked her self "safe" BEFORE the storm hit ;D Others did brief comments. Jason & Danise were the best to follow and get of good feel of what people in Florida were experiencing.
It was amazing to follow the preparations of DR Danise. The physical work she did to prepare her home, including setting up thoughtful purchases she has made over the years, was very impressive. She is such a smart, talented, and resourceful.
-
It turns out that my radiation doctor - Dr. Val - who is from the Ukraine, was in the Caribbean during the first part of the hurricane. The eye passed over them....and then they had about six hours of rain/wind.
They were moved to lower floors of the hotel.....he and his wife have dual citizenship - US/Canada. They heard on CNN that Canada was sending a dozen planes to evacuate Canadian citizens, but he hadn't brought his Canadian passport with him.....
They called the Embassy and were told nothing could be done, just sit it out.....they flew out late last week and got home to Indy.....
It's just a regular story - but it is much more entertaining when told in a Ukranian accent.....
-
LOL. It is still entertaining.
-
I saw a news report, which I didn't read, of people who were left behind on these flights. I wonder if he was mentioned.
-
Lesson learned, if you have dual passports travel with both of them.

The Monday work monsters are running amok.

A few phrases from the Marius Constant Twilight Zone theme? With, of course, lyrics...?
The Manhattan Transfer recorded a song called Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTyhycwZMa4). They pretty much did the whole original TV show opening, then segued into their own song. And like other songs with incorrectly attributed titles such as "Not Getting Married Today" and "I Remember Sky," a lot of people think that their song is just called "Twilight Zone." The correct title is "Twilight Tone." They actually sing, "Hearin' (hearing) the Twilight Tone," not "Here in the Twilight Zone."
-
I left messages on both of Susanna Moross' phone numbers. I hope they are okay.
-
Back from a chicken Caesar salad. The cloven hoof of negativity is back so I've got to figure out what to do about it - I can probably deflect for a few more days then I'm gonna have to really deal.
-
Had a chicken Caesar salad.

Getting our announcement ready.
-
Also have to ready a small Indiegogo for Levi - it's an expensive proposition, this one, and while the authors are putting in money (well, one is so far - we have to get the other one to match it) we're still coming up short in what this is going to cost. The department can't afford anything to do with the Equity actor we're bringing in (a cost we didn't have with LA Now and Then) and that's a considerable amount of dough, which is actually beginning to irritate me, a much larger cast which requires more sound rentals, and then there's the band, orchestrator, and musical director. Daunting, but we've got to do it right. As always, I'll have some fun stuff up and I'm hoping Richard will give us some personal memorabilia for perks. Larry, too.
-
I hope I can afford something

Hi all, Power is restored so all is right with the world! I won't kid myself, I was lucky and things could have been a LOT worse. I am humbled when I see the damage and hear the stories of what happened last night. I have no cause for complaints and my little sufferings were nothing compared to others.
After I put everything that's left to rights tomorrow I'm going to see if I can volunteer to help those that need it. I'm not working and it's not going to hurt anything for me to put it off for one more week.
-
Thank you all for your prayers, good thoughts and vibes.

DR Jeanne, have you watched this British series "Endeavour"?
-
My brother likes it.
-
My brother did not like "Inspector Morse" and much prefers the younger version of Endeavour Morse. We watched the first episode of Endeavour and enjoyed it. We have too many shows to watch and simply haven't returned to it.

DR Michael I hope you don't regret going to Montreal to wait out the storm.

Well, I'm off. A former co-worker is performing downtown at a local restaurant and I want to see her perform (I've seen her perform many times before). She's a singer and will have a pianist accompanying her. Hopefully, the ambiance won't be too distracting.
Be back later.

I missed that. :(

Hillary will not likely get power soon because a neighbor's tree fell on the power line. They're talking two weeks. That's right before I visit.

Watching Larry Parks in Jolson Sings Again. He's great. The movie, not so much.

DR Jeanne, have you watched this British series "Endeavour"?
Funny you should ask. I watched an episode or two when I first aired and wasn't impressed. For starters, I didn't care for the casting--just couldn't see him as the older Morse. But given my current aversion to anything too dark I've been searching for tamer dramas and just yesterday, I think, I put ENDEAVOR in my Netflix queue. I'll give it another try.
-
Glad to see that DR Danise is bearing up so well.
-
And that Fred's parents are back home, where I'm sure they're more comfortable.

And now I'm off to look at a tame--maybe even a bit boring--drama.
TTFN.

Finished with my viewing.

Jamie's concert was pretty fun. She sang jazzy standards and her accompanist was a great jazz pianist. They performed very well together. It was at a restaurant, but the noise wasn't too bad.
-
I was able to sit with her husband, so we were sitting pretty close to them. About a dozen people were in the area of the restaurant where they were performing, but everyone that I saw there was really enjoying it.

Gratuitous Post # 123!
-
Is anyone else here watching the Netflix series, THE RANCH?
-
Not feeling better, but not feeling any worse.
That's something, at least. :-\
-
It stars Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Debra Winger, and Sam Elliott.
-
It is a typical sitcom.
-
Is anyone else here watching the Netflix series, THE RANCH?
I've never heard of it.
-
It stars Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Debra Winger, and Sam Elliott.
Wait...now that you mention the actors, I have heard of this. Is it any good?
-
But since it is on Netflix they insert a lot of four letter words. Their favorite word appears to be the f-bomb.
-
I guess you would say that it involve adult themes. Still, I am enjoying it.
-
Still it is certainly a step above the Karhy Bates' Netflix comedy DISJOINTED.
-
DISJOINTED is strictly a one-joke comedy about a legal marajuana shop.
-
DISJOINTED is strictly a one-joke comedy about a legal marajuana shop.
And it's not good?
-
That's too bad. :-\
-
Her last TV series, "Harry's Law," didn't do too well, either.
-
I'll watch a few more episodes before I dump it.
