Toby and Dyan were on good behavior and they fell for our Vixter, especially Dylan, IIRC, who was at Vixter's feet for most of the evening.

I need to get back to Pittsburgh. Not the City where we have dear TD but the Foundation.

Bye for now.

I dropped my big announcement at last night's event, and here's the news for everyone who could not be there. I will be working on the Broadway revival of FINIAN'S RAINBOW as the orchestrator for the  adjustments being made for the production. I love Rob Berman, the musical director, and I'm very honored to be asked to work on the show. I loved it at Encores!

This is fabulous news, and I'm SO happy for you, DR Elmore! COngratulations!

Good morning!

More hot weather in the high 80s, so no relief here. The rest of the week looks dismally similar,

I am very draggy this morning. The sleep position suggestions worked a bit, but I still didn't make it through the night. I wonder if I ever will again. I shouldn't be depressed. It's only the first day of therapy!

I did have a strange dream about waking up this morning and finding four big boxes of review discs at the front door. Naturally, when I checked a little bit ago, they weren't there!

Hang in there, DR Matt H.!!!!

Thanks. I am going to try! I'm sure I'll be heading down to try to take a nap in a little bit. If not, I'll fall fast asleep after I eat a hot lunch today.

Thanks for the pics, bk. Looks like a wonderful time with a great bunch of people. Glad we could all be a part of it in some small way with these pics and comments from those who were there.

Once again, my work project is in limbo. Next in my queue is CRIMINAL MINDS-Season 4, but EARTH and LIE TO ME both come out prior to it, so if either arrives in the next few days, I'll have to put CRIMINAL MINDS off to the side and work on one of those releases.

TOD:

In the grand scheme of things, I prefer cake to pie, but a wonderful pecan pie or apple, cherry, or strawberry pie can be out of this world.

I had a pecan pie at a family reunion some years ago that was without question the best I've ever had. Nothing I've ever tasted before or since has ever measured up to the taste of that pie.

Isn't Boston Cream Pie actually a cake?

TOD:

Best pies I ever had were my dad's apple pie and my Aunt Helen's blueberry and cherry pies.  It's unfortunate that they took the secrets of their crusts with them.

Happy Birthday to Leonard Bernstein.  He would have been 91 today.

Last night I found myself watching WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT and I have to say that I really don't like this movie.  It's pretty much clumsily made and artless.  Aside from Christopher Lloyd's judge (a character that really doesn't fit in with the film) and the novelty of seeing the different studio cartoon characters, I would never make an effort to view this again.

I'm up after another decent but not great night's sleep.  The new books have been ordered and should be here in ten days.  I've answered e-mails and shall shortly mosey on over to the gym.

Re Two's Company - yes, I finally got the replacements in, so anyone who wants one, it's ten bucks, and that will include postage.  Same routine for paying, and be sure to put the title in the invoice or I really will get confused.  Just do me one little favor and don't place orders until Friday - that way I can print them out when I get home.

We disagree about ROGER RABBIT, a lot, DR Dan. I think the ending is sloppy and rather rudimentary, but I think the film is an astonishing achievement, is hilarious, and always entertaining on repeat visits. I'm happy to have it in my collection, and I'd love to see it on Blu-ray.

Horse racin', I guess.

I saw the UPS truck slow down on the street a little bit ago, so I'm assuming he left something at my door. I'm heading down to find out. Then, I'm going to try to take a nap and see what happens.

I forgot to mention that I found Brian Boitano's cooking show premiere on Sunday on Food Network a trifle annoying.  Mostly with the stupid techno-editing-for-people-with-no-attention-spans and the tricked-up format.

The recipes themselves, however, looked remarkably delicious.

And thank you, Kerry, for the compliment. Although I would bow to MusicGuy's baking knowledge any day.
