I believe that if you go back and read my selections, you'll find that I mentioned it and THE MEDUSA TOUCH.

Sorry, Matt, I wrote that at the end of page ONE.  I am afraid I don't have a high enough post total to delete posts.  Don't worry, I read all of your posts.

I don't remember if anyone mentioned THE ROBE, but I thought Burton was very good in that. And I was going on and on about his work VIRGINIA WOOLF, but THE SPY WHO CAME IN FROM THE COLD is also quite brilliant.

Now, I'm going to head downstairs and go to bed. Another night with windows open and cool fresh air coming inside.

Good night!

Sorry, dear reader MattH, but Rio Bravo is a travesty and I don't care how sharp it is.  Yes, it has deeply saturated color but it does not in any way resemble the deeply saturated IB Technicolor prints - this rather sick DVD is orange.  If you like deeply saturated orange, it's a perfect DVD.  Unfortunately, there should be blue skies where there are only white or brown skies, and if you think that skin tones should be the same exact orange as shirts and walls, well, it's a shame that you don't know what it's supposed to look like.  I haz spoken.

Since I missed most of THE CLOSER Season 2, I started watching it tonight.  I was so happy to see my old friend Kevin Kilner, even if he were the killer!

I love Kevin Kilner!!

Me, too. Gary and Martin Kemp came to our Video Music Channel to promote the film, and Spandau Ballet was also on tour so we interviewed them as an actors that day and then went to see the band that night. (I think they had just reunited at that point.) Good concert! Cute boys!

I am envious Edisaurus...I loved Spandau Ballet back in the 80s...well, I still love them.

Didn't we use the expression YEAR OF MAGICAL DRINKING here on HHW the other night when we were coming up with Tony-related foodstuffs and drinkstuffs?  Now the expression seems to have caught on and I'm seeing it on another site.

Trendsetters, that's what HHW-ers are.

And speaking of closings, there was an article in yesterday's NY Times about all the darkened marquees this summer on Broadway.

As the Cheering of Tony Night Fades, Broadway Still Faces a Summer of Closings

*And it's accompanied by a picture of those red plaid pants.  -Which upon closer inspection, seem to be of a royal and/or military order.

I'm currently sipping some fancy-schmancy bed-time/calming herbal tea.  It tastes OK, but when I first opened the canister.... Whoa!  It has valerian root in it, consequently, it has a little "off" smell to it.  But, again, it doesn't taste off.  (whew!)

Just read that 1950s actress Mala Powers died yesterday in Los Angeles of leukemia. She was 76.

I was never a big fan of hers, but she did make some fun movies and seemed to pop up on TV a lot.

Some of use (well, me and JRand56) will remember Mala from the films THE UNKNOWN TERROR or THE COLOSSUS OF NEW YORK...while others are more likely to recognize Ms. Powers from the film Cyrano de Bergerac  opposite Jose Ferrer.

Tonight I went to see a student written staged reading at Plaza De La Raza in Lincoln Park. A beautiful old building now houses a community center for the neighborhood. The title of the piece was "If Only You Knew", and it involved  stories of gang life that all ended in hope.

I am lucky because I live in a diverse area and have always been encouraged to do so.
