Good morning, all! I slept well last night, although I suspect the Vicodin and muscle relaxant I took last night are the reasons I slept later than intended; I had taken them to see if they would help me sleep with my aching shoulder, which seems to be a byproduct of my crutch usage.
Wowie, BK, you are taking the town! I'm glad your week is going so well;
I had a pretty good day yesterday: a good morning discovering more amazing and expensive purchases sitting on John McGlinn's bookshelves, then a wonderful time at the Shbert Archive with the Life Begins At 8:40 conductor. This was a good meeting since we had a chance to discover some fascinating information on the comedy material from looking at the original band parts, and we had a chance to hash out all the angst and hostility of last week. Curiously, I have my train booked but there's been no word from the Loc on what the hell we are do about a hotel.
After that I got back home and who should show up but George, my handyman! He came in, looked at the bookcases, made lots of notes, and told me he would check with his doctor to see if he can do the work on Thursday; otherwise we're both hoping he can do it on Monday and Tuesday while I am in DC.
DR George, I think the harmonies were always written into my score as the two notes because that's who I was originally given it. I really should see a chorus book to determine why there's a discrepancy over who sings what. Since the lower notes are the harmony and not the leadui line, I suspect I always thought they were both sung by thw men and women with the higher voices on the melody in both sexes.
Thank you all again for the Finian vibes. I am looking forward immensely to working on the show.
