Title: SOMETHIN' WRONG WITH YOUR BUMPER?
Post by: bk on October 19, 2005, 12:10:41 AM
Well, you've read the notes, you know what's wrong with your bumper, fasten your seat belts it's going to be a bumper night, and now you are ready to post until the cows come home - they're currently trying to figure out what a bumper is.

And the word of the day is: CONATION!

Ask BK:  You say that Kevin's new single is getting a lot of radio play?  How does that happen?  How does one go about getting some radio play for the equally deserving Guy Haines?
Title: Re:SOMETHIN' WRONG WITH YOUR BUMPER?

You spend a LOT of money.  Kevin is paying a radio plugger to work the single - plus he's got Days of our Lives to use as a hook, all helpful.  It would be a rough road getting Guy played, but we are ever hopeful.  Sadly, I think Gary Owens' days are numbered at his station (if he's not already gone) and I'm sure that's why he never got around to much new stuff.

Here's my question of the day, for those who've helped me search for people that I needed to find.  I was on the intelius website (where I did a search once).  I've never been able to get a direct match for the name I wanted, so I used an initial and also a fuller version of the name, but nothing panned out in the numbers I got.

This time, when I searched, I used the correct first name, and for the last name I clicked on "maiden name".  This time I got offered a "background check" on the exact name, but it's fifty bucks and I'm not sure what I'll get or if it's even the right person.  Has anyone done this, and if so, am I likely to have success or will I just be wasting the fifty bucks?

What?  Someone might ask, is Ron Pulliam doing posting at 3:35 a.m.?

Well might that person ask!

And if Ron Pulliam should reply, it would be amidst sneezes and snuffles and many blowings of the nose and much expulsion of the phlegmatic matters that currently plague him and his sleep.

So, I am up and waiting for a tablet to take effect so that I might again take up my slumber.  This is no sleeping tablet, no.  It's a sinus tablet.

Ack!

I should have foreseen all this and invested in Kleenex stock.

Nothing would do last night until I watched every last frame of "The V.I.P.s."   It was enjoyable!  Quite a bit of fun watching Margaret Rutherford dither and fuss as the Duchess of Brighton.  A wonderful character that.

And the young Maggie Smith is a joy to behold.

Rod Taylor's Aussie accent sound more cockney than anything.  He had a lot of lines and it was a chore having to listen to them delivered with a half-baked accent.

Here's a question probably more directly pointed at Pogue and BK:

Miklos Rozsa's exquisite (to me) score was released on an MGM LP.  In the final band on side 2, three scenes were combined from the end of the film.  In one of them, the love theme is taken up by an exquisite violin solo.  I tried in vain to locate that scene in the film.  Just where I thought it should be -- where Frances finds Paul and asks him to take her home -- the scene had no scoring.  Do you know if that solo ever appeared in the film?

I can, of course, direct the query to the Rozsa Society if no one here knows the answer.

Oh ASK BK day.  I always have questions and then I forget them.

BUT -

Often times in movies and TV shows there a big dance numbers that are being watched by main characters in the movies....

When the dances are to include cutaways to audience or adoring person watching (Mr Gene Kelly particularly liked to include BIG FAT CLOSEUPS of HIS MUG when OTHER people were dancing) - was the choreographer privy to the information of which parts of his dance would NOT be included?  Or did the director and the editor cut it all up and leave some of the splits and chasse's on the floor at random.

Good morning, all!  Apropos of today's headline, I had two close encounters of the very strange kind with Faith Dane, who - so far as I know - is alive and well in New York.  The first was in 1973, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival.  She showed up for a performance on the arm of choreographer Donald Saddler.  I remember that she was quite tall.

Around 1990 or so, Miss Dane called The Drama Book Shop several times, looking for legal advice from one of the owners, a lovely gentleman who was one of the worst bosses I ever had:  my memory is that she actually had been an exotic dancer who played trumpet in her act, all of which became part of the GYPSY libretto, and that she was looking for help in landing a chunk of the show's royalties as a creator.  This may have been prompted by all the brouhaha at the time of the dancers' stories used in creating A CHORUS LINE.

So, there are things to do today: a breakfast at 9:00 with Susanna Tarjan, daughter of Jerome Moross, several hours with Harold Arlen, Yip Harburg and Ira Gershwin, and, after all the drudgery, the glamour and excitement of laundry.  Heigh ho, the glamorous life!

Rod Taylor was born in New Zealand. So he was probably speaking in his native accent. Which is close to a Aussie accent.

I see that Wilma is coming to Florida.

This is the 21st name storrm and the last. So there are no x, Y, Z. So they must have skipped over three other letters. Anyone know why?

If there are more storms this year they are named after the Greek alphabet.

DR Ben -  My Mom would love a storm named Fred.  Then she could honestly tell her friends that Fred is coming to visit her in Florida.  :)

Mom had fractured her shoulder last week, but she was really anxious to get back home to Florida, even with the fracture, and it seems she was told it was OK for her to fly.  But just a few nice vibes from my family to Jet Blue for having gone out of their way to make her comfortable.  Apparently, the people at Jet Blue were especially kind and considerate of her condition before and during the flight.  (Maybe they had to be and had no choice about being accommodating, I'm not sure, but according to Mom and Dad, they gave service and consideration with a smile.)

Last night, DR TCB wrote:

"Unfortunately, Mr. Norona is not in the Broadway production, but is starring in INCONCEIVABLE on television instead."

Well, he was for three episodes. Due to low ratings, the show has been canceled. A shame, too, because even though it was a glossy melodrama with no particular depth to the characters or stories, I did enjoy it very much.

I agree with DR DtM - I think those searches you pay for are ripoffs.  Never knew anyone who found out anything or anyone or was happy with paying for it!  Beware...beware.

Watching COME FLY WITH ME....never saw it before.  Stewardesses for Polar Atlantic Airlines between NYC and Paris.  Big Budget and funny in spots.

Dolores Hart is chasing Baron Karl Boehm (who will always be Peeping Tom to me), Pamela Tiffin is chasing co-pilot Hugh O'Brien, and poor Lois Nettleton, tourist class stewardess, has to settle for Karl Malden.

Great title tune by Van Heusen & Cahn (sort of makes up for those awful ANYTHING GOES tunes, sort of).

I LOOKED UP INTELIUS on complaints.com and WHAT FOLLOWS IS A SAMPLE OF WHAT SOMEONE WROTE...

"Background report and National Criminal check Intelius.com.

I paid $69.90 for a Background report and a Criminal check on myself and received information that was over 10yrs old! In those ten yrs I have been married, divorced, owned two homes and unfortunately had some legal trouble. None of this information was found nor provided. An incredible rip-off!

I contacted Intelius by phone and was told there was nothing I could do to get a refund, nor were the promised return calls provided.

I have reported them to several rip-off websites, contacted my credit card company and filed a complaint and will continue to file grievances with as many places as I can until this company is removed from the market!

Do not purchase anything from Intelius.com!!! You will be ripped off!

For Ask BK Day -

What are your least favorite movies from Hitchcock's Hollywood period onward?

The ones most people seem to dislike - TORN CURTAIN, THE PARADINE CASE, STAGE FRIGHT - I rather like.

I don't like (at all) UNDER CAPRICORN, and I have mixed-to-negative feelings about TOPAZ, MARNIE, FAMILY PLOT and SUSPICION.

I find the lengthy distribes and rationaizations about MARNIE's excellence to be especially amusing.

DR Ron, so glad you enjoyed THE V.I.Ps, and that it played OK in your DVD player. I'm always happy to make DVDs for folks, but I'm always worried that other people's DVD players won't be compatible with the DVDs I can make.

I didn't make a DVD cover for your disc because I don't have the soundtrack LP and figured you did and could scan the cover and make a reduced size version for the DVD.

I noticed that the Val Lewton films from that boxed set are being shown tonight on TCM, and since I haven't purchased that set as yet, I'm going to record every one of them and save to disc the ones that I like and that look OK. I'll miss out on the special features, but for now, these will have to do.

But to do that, I've got to get everything cleared off the DVR today to be sure to have room for those films and the two network TV-HD shows I'll be recording tonight: VERONICA MARS and LAW & ORDER.

Carolina in the Morning

Lyrics: Walter Donaldson   Music: Gus Kahn

Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina
In the morning
Nothing could be sweeter than my sweetie when I meet her
In the morning.

Where the morning glories twine around the door,
Whispering pretty stories I long to hear once more.

Strollin' with my girlie where the dew is pearly, early
In the morning.
Butterflies all flutter up and kiss each little buttercup
At dawning.

If I had Aladdin's lamp For only a day,
I'd make a wish and here's what I'd say:

Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina
In the morning.

I forced myself to get up this morning 'cause normally getting ready for work and doing all the routine ablutions actually picks up my spirits and makes me feel tolerable enough to overcome my ailments.

Ah ha!!

1933 Hallelujah, I'm A Bum
Starring Al Jolson with Madge Evans, Frank Morgan, Harry Langdon and Chester Conklin.
Quite a different movie, Jolie plays Bumper, a hobo whose close friend just happens to be the mayor of New York. The interesting sidenote to this picture is the title, itself, which was changed to Hallelujah, I'm A Tramp for release in England, where "bum" has a more vulgar meaning.

Now, you've got it! HALLELUJAH, I'M A BUM.

I need to get that on DVD, then I need to fashion a CD of the Rodgers and Hart music. "You are too beautiful," "I Didn't Wanna Do it..."

Frank Morgan is so freakin' funny in that movie.

I have that film on DVD, and while it's an interesting movie, quite a departure for Jolson and offers us a quick glimpse of both Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart in cameo roles, I can't say that it's one of my favorite musicals of the period. I'd rather watch Chavalier and Jeannette MacDonald in LOVE ME TONIGHT.

After I get back from lunch with some buddies, I have quite a long afternoon of watching stuff off the DVR to clear it for tonight. I still have that live East Coast broadcast of WILL & GRACE on there that I've been meaning to save to a DVD, too.

On yahoo search i typed in: locate phone number free

and got a bunch of free searches that give phone number and addresses.

One time I needed more than these searches could find and for only a few dollars i used (locateamerica.com) and i was very happy with their services.

Yesterday's Topic of the Day...

I was hooked on the radio when I was younger - and still listen to more radio nowadays... even as a still-yet-to-be-played pile of CDs sits next to my CD player... Ah, well...

I don't really remember any particular DJs, but I do remember KING in Seattle, WA, and WRNL in New London, CT.  And then there was Q107 in Washington, DC during my teen years - they were the last of actual "pop music stations" to hang on until economics and ratings forced them to change things up.

I would make tapes of songs off the radio - and then bug the DJs for a while getting the actual song titles and artist's names.  I even invested in one of those home tape splicing kits from Radio Shack so that I could edit my own tapes.

And the hours I would spend on the weekend listening to "America's Top 40".  Kasey Kasem was my hero.

DR iris - Yes, Train 173, Track 9.  Scheduled to depart at 4:05.  Delayed for 15 minutes.  -Of course, that delay ended up lasting about another 20 minutes.  But, hey, at least we made it out of the station.  -I was walking through Penn Station the other day when an announcement was made that a train trip had been cancelled due to "lack of equipment".  What?!?!?!?

*And it's always amazing just how the delays just add up as the train proceeds southward.  I think we ended up being almost an hour late once we hit Union Station.

**However, my last couple of trips northward on Amtrak have been on-time and even early(!) sometimes!

Unless the choreographer is sitting in the editing room (Gene Kelly would have had that power, Astaire, etc.), the editor and maybe the director would put in the cutaways).

:)

*When was the last time you washed your sheets? - pillow cases, in particular.  In peak allergy system, I wash them a bit more frequently since allergens and other 'stuff' get transferred from my hair to my pillow cases.

**And when was the last time you changed your tooth brush?  I've always been advised to get a new one after any sort of illness - or at least soak my toothbrush overnight in a small glass of antiseptic mouthwash.

***And as for investing in Kleenex stock...  It's never too late, is it?

For Ask BK Day -

What are your least favorite movies from Hitchcock's Hollywood period onward?

The ones most people seem to dislike - TORN CURTAIN, THE PARADINE CASE, STAGE FRIGHT - I rather like.

I don't like (at all) UNDER CAPRICORN, and I have mixed-to-negative feelings about TOPAZ, MARNIE, FAMILY PLOT and SUSPICION.

I find the lengthy distribes and rationaizations about MARNIE's excellence to be especially amusing.

The only Hitchcock I find unwatchable and uninteresting is Under Capricorn.  I'm not fond of Suspicion, but I can tolerate it.  I have always liked Marnie, I'm afraid to say, but I liked it when no one else did, back on the day it opened (I saw it about six times).  I find Topaz an interesting failure, Frenzy has interesting bits, and Family Plot, perhaps the worst of his later films, is enjoyable on surface levels.  Torn Curtain is one I quite enjoyed as a teen - less so now, although I think the critical reaction to that film would have been completely different if the Herrmann score had made it into the film.

BK - My brother had a BMW for a year or two... Before all the "simple repairs" just started to add up and up and up.  He had to replace his whole back bumper after it was tapped in a parking lot.  He saw it happen, and it didn't think it was that bad a "tap".  But then realized that the whole back bumper had gotten pushed "in" and was coming back out again.

He had one of the sportier BMWs, and, apparently, in order to make them "sportier" and faster, they make the body of the car out of lighter and thinner material than usual.  He finally went back to a Toyota.

Hmm...

Well, I was going to do some things today, but...

Yesterday was just such a long day.  Rehearsal 10:00-1:00, then killing time until 6:00 for the sound check.  Then the show at 8:00... Well, more like 8:12.  Thankfully, the show runs only one hour and 53 minutes - with a 20 minute intermission.  So...

It was a good day yesterday, not a great one.

...And as long as I remember to look at the key signature tonight for one of my exposed solos... that acts as the intro for one of the soloists...  Let's just say I owe someone a case of beer.

Anybody here watch "Surface"?  It airs Monday nights on NBC.

I am pretty much taken with the show, except I'm getting a little tired of one of the storylines -- the family with the nerdy kid who stole a strange egg that hatched and was some form of lizard life that, currently, eats dogs.  It also immobilizes its prey with a shock.

Strange show, but it moves despite my tiring of that family.

Here's a Marcy Page that lets you download her songs. Some of the album covers don't appear but the songs are available. This site, however, does not include the classic, When Mr. Satan Knocks at My Heart's Door

http://www.sharpeworld.com/marcy/pages/index.html (http://www.sharpeworld.com/marcy/pages/index.html)

I think I'm going to H E Double Hockey Sticks for laughing about this. I'm not laughing at her though, I'm laughing with her.

Yes, we will be there. It's a busy week. Anthony is at the theatre right now seeing the new Michael John La Chuisa show (a friend got freebies), we're seeing Vertigo tomorrow and Friday we're going to the Big Apple Circus (again, due to friends who got free tickets)!

Finally, after a seven week absence, I was able to join my hiking group this morning.  It was a beautiful day, though rather nippy in the mountains, for our hike.  If I have any good photos I will most them later.

I am jealous!  Please do post the photos.

How are your renovations coming along?

I enjoy many of Woody Allen's films, but I'd say my favorite is probably CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS followed by ANNIE HALL and MANHATTAN.

And the one of his that I've grown especially fond of after not liking it much at all at first is SHADOWS AND FOG.

HOUSE has been showing re-runs.  I think they are afraid to put it up against COMMANDER IN CHIEF.  We are lucky we can record two shows at once.

That's not the reason at all. The baseball playoffs and World Series always disrupt Fox's October schedule, so as not to break up ongoing storylines by the various baseball series, they show no new episodes until baseball is over.

I'm sure Fox is VERY curious to know how HOUSE is going to compete in the timeslot since they have some juggling to do with their schedule once AMERICAN IDOL comes back. And they've renewed PRISON BREAK for the entire season, too, and have '24' in the wings so things are going to be shifting in January on Fox.

THE COLBERT REPORT was very funny again last night. Maybe not the laugh riot it was the first night, but plenty of amusing stuff and Colbert himself is such a deadpan "newscaster" that it makes me laugh just to look at him.

The "interview" with the representative from Savannah had me on the floor.

WALK, DON'T RUN has been just OK up to this point. Grant humming the title songs to "Charade" and "An Affair to Remember" was kind of a cheap in-joke and took me right out of the movie.

I've always liked Jim Hutton. Samantha Eggar is not all that great at comedy.

The painting has been completed and the wood floor is being installed.  The installation is very loud a somewhat dusty.  When I say very loud I mean VERY LOUD.

I need Keith to transfer the photos so I can post them.  He is out picking up the leaves.  It seems that within minutes of clearing an area it is again covered in leaves.

For about two years now I have had this little red spot on my forehead near my hairline.  The dermatologist has done various things, short of cutting it out, to remove it.  Monday the doctor finally cut it out.  I just received the results of the biopsy and it’s another carcinoma- no big deal but I have to return for the remainder of it to be removed.

The reason I’m mentioning this is to educate-it didn’t look like a carcinoma.  It was just a red spot that kept getting inflamed and would bother me periodically and then clear up.

And speaking of education and "wake up calls"... I'm currently watching Oprah...  Her program today is devoted to heart disease - the causes, the treatments, the prevention(!).  And the doctor/specialist she has on has even brought actual "samples" of hearts, aortas, livers, and "bad fat".

WOW!

Earlier in the show, she followed four of her audience members/fans through a heart scan.  Two received good news.  Two did not.

-I'm actually a little shaken right now.  However, I've been looking/waiting for that final bit of news/information/inspiration to get me seriously back to a healthier lifestyle.   I think this was just it.

Matt H, thanks for the explanation.  Are they leaving HOUSE on Tuesdays?

At the start of the season, the plan was to move HOUSE to Mondays at 8 in January when '24' returns (at 9). AMERICAN IDOL would be on Tuesdays at 8 and BONES would move to 9.

However, with PRISON BREAK doing so well on Monday (at 9), and HOUSE doing so well on Tuesday where it is, I'm guessing they're going to move BONES to another night, maybe Monday at 8. But what they do with '24' is anyone's guess. I also read that Fox might put AMERICAN IDOL on another night since they know it's going to do well whereever they put it.

Matt H it’s barely scary in the realm of cancers.  I do my best to catch these things before they turn into a carcinoma.  This just didn’t fit the normal pattern or appearance.

Yup...there's no telling what the fallout will be, mainly because at this point, they are all still just recommendations (strong recommendations, but still...).  There's a public meeting tomorrow night and (from what I've been told) the board will decide next week on whether to accept, modify or reject them.  We'll find out soon enough! :-\

So, I decided to us ussearch.com, but call to give the info.  I got a very nice lady, and I gave her the maiden name of the person I'm looking for, and the area in which she lived when I knew her about fifteen years ago, and her app. age.  The lady took all the info, and the cc info and then put me on hold to verify - she came back about two minutes later and said they'd done a quick preliminary search and come up with nothing.  So, no charge.  My guess is that intelius would have charged my card, come up with someone who wasn't who I was looking for, and then I'd be out the dough.

And Ginny, fortunately this is not a "major reduction in force."  We went through that in 1985/6.  Before the library's very first director (Mrs. Morrison) retired, salaries were being paid from timber revenue, which is considered "soft money."  It could never be counted on to be there...but they expected it to be there because they were paying salaries with it!  Well, when Mrs. Morrison left, the next director was hired basically to be a hatchet man (although it was never stated publicly).  And he did his job.  It was practically a bloodbath.  We had a RIF situation that took a long time to really settle down and figure out what was left.  We're not in that bad a situation now, but still when positions are eliminated, it's sad that people have to go with them.

I have 2 or 3 Marcy records. Not a puppet, per se, but a doll, voiced by the woman on the cover. Bizarre Christian ventriloquist records are not as rare as you might suppose.

My favorite Marcy song is called "When Mr. Satan Knocks at My Heart's Door."

Oops, still catching up with the posts... he does indeed have a Marcy album.  And yes, it freaks me out that we reside under the same roof.

Me and the christian doll albums is what I mean, not me and Rodzinski. ;)

I also watched INVASION tonight. It was somewhat slow-moving, the alien/body snatcher plot moving by inches toward some big revelation of purpose.

But I don't think they're squeezing  the suspense quotient out of the show that they could be. Two weeks ago we saw the ex-wife of a main character breathing under water. THAT was creepy. Nothing has been done with that since, and she's walking around as if there isn't anything wrong with her in the subsequent two episodes.

And speaking of creepy, I did watch last night's SUPERNATURAL today. Now that was a very good episode last night.

The monster of the week was a "shape shifter," and naturally the monster eventually took the form of one of the two brothers. As the monster tied up the other brother, we learned some fascinating information about the brother's resentments and feelings of alienation. It was the first really good character insights we've been offered on either brother since the show started, and we could use more of them.

BTW, the episode reminded me a bit of the superior KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER episode called "Horror in the Heights" in which a rakshaska could also assume the form of a trusted loved one.

Walty and Killbot update- I have twice spied Killbot licking Walty's head and ear.

Of course when it happened just now, she followed it up with a chomp on the neck... but I'm feeling hopeful.

In addition to those Val Lewton films I'm recording all evening and morning long, I will have VERONICA MARS and LAW & ORDER to watch tomorrow.

This plus the BATMAN BEGINS film, the BATMAN serial, and the first season of THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN will be more than enough to keep me busy for some time.

DR JRand, on the SUPERMAN set as to special features, in addition to SUPERMAN AND THE MOLE MEN, there is a documentary on the history of SUPERMAN from comic to TV. There are also some commentaries on selected episodes.

At least this is what is on the packaging. I haven't had any time to even open the box yet, and now it looks like it will be the weekend before I can get to it.

I'm quite certain that MattH's and my opinions on Batman Begins, which I'm watching now, will be wildly divergent, oh, yes, they will be wildly divergent.

8:50 and I'm the only one in the jernt.  I tell you, we're turning into flabby old hainsies/kimlets.

TPunk, can you please play your Marcy LP now, and tell us how you like it.  Mine won't be here for a few days.

bk, you know me too well. But I must say that I haven't even cracked the plastic on my DVD and will have to make some hard decisions about what to watch tomorrow.

There are NOT enough hours in the day. . . .

But as it's now well past midnight on the East Coast, I'm headed to bed.

Good night, all.

Now, when I was your houseguest I thought they got along great! Were they just putting on their guest manners?

Kit Armstrong, a prodigy in many areas, just performed two piano piece of Letterman...

WOW!!!

His Chopin etude was actually poetic.  -And I even liked his original composition.
Title: Re:A QUESTION RE MIKES
Post by: alexpaige on October 19, 2005, 10:01:39 PM
I have an "ASK BRUCE" question for Bruce ... but emails to his address as listed at top of the site just bounce back to me.

So Bruce, if you're around (or anyone else who can answer the question), here it is:

A friend of mine who's just starting out on what will hopefully be a long and profitable career as a singer is trying to work out what sort of mike to buy for live performances.

He popped into a music store here in Oz and they gave him a big spiel about the Rode S1, which is an Australian-made mike. It is however not just a dynamic mike but a dynamic/condenser mike which uses phantom power. The guy at the store said that even tho condenser mikes are mainly used for studio rather than live gigs, this one has wonderful abilities to bring out subtleties in the voice blah blah blah.

He then asked a guy at another music store who basically said the opposite: there was no point buying a Rode S1 unless he was going to use it predominantly in studio, it would pick up too much ambient noise at the gig etc. This guy suggested a Sennheiser E845S dynamic supercadioid mike. The other guy says the Rode is better than the Sennheiser.

Now you may not be familiar with the Rode, but I imagine you're familiar with the Sennheiser, and is there a general rule of thumb re using condenser mikes in live performances which may help my friend make a decision?

We were not watching LOST or INVASION or anything of the sort around here tonight.  Both Ann and I tried an episode or two of LOST last season and were simply left cold by it.  We're in the great minority, yes, but such is horse racing.  The only Wednesday night show we watch this season is the new Mandy Patinkin vehicle CRIMINAL MINDS.  We find it interesting and well written, and it looks as though it will be able to go for awhile without running out of interesting premisis, unlike NUMB3RS.

I don't know from Rode, but Sennheiser is a good mic.

This is, of course, from my purely amateur experience, and should  probably be taken with a large grain of salt.

Al, first of all, I do get the e-mails - they just appear to bounce back.

I don't know that much about "live" mics, so I can't be of much help.  Your friend might want to contact a couple of night clubs to see what they use, and I'd bet that google would also be your friend.

In the studio, I only use tube mics - old 47s and 67s and occasionally 87s.  I believe Mr. Haines favors the 67.

You know what I really hate? I really hate it when I put off writing a paper so I have to pull an all-nighter to get it done on time.

That said, I put off writing a paper so I have to pull an all-nighter to get it done on time.

So, what are you doing Sandra?  You put off writing your paper, that much we know, and we know you haven't been around here in ages, so just what HAVE you been doing, you wicked, wicked girl.

I have been suffering. SUFFERING, I tell you! Between this paper and the other one I have to do by next Wednesday, and having to go to the dreaded Dr. C's Chamber of Horrors twice a week, my soul is slowly being sucked out my ears. Thank goodness for Cherry Coke is all I can say.
