Today, the Olympia chapter of PFLAG (http://pflag-olympia.org) is having their annual picnic.  My niece and sister, and my sister's boyfriend are all on the board, so they're going, as well as helping to organize it.  I'm going, too, and will bring some Costco pizzas.  It'll be fun.

Okay, here goes --

Trapped on that infamous desert island along with Ginger, Mr. And Mrs. Howell, the Skipper, and all the rest.  The Professor is able to repair the CD player using coconut shells.  Unfortunately, only one CD survived the shipwreck.  What is that single CD?

J.J. Abrams certainly has name recognition, but being ignorant of the whys and what fors, I just looked over his filmography ..... and as it turns out, I've seen virtually nothing with his name on it.

I still haven't seen the Star Wars movie, for instance, nor a single one of his umpteen TV series.  I saw Armageddon once years ago, and that probably tells me something.  The only absolute recognizable 'like' for me would be the Mission Impossible movie which certainly satisfies on enough levels.

But, caveats taken, now I want to see, and probably read, the 11.22.63 thing.

I detest nights this this last one, Vote for McGovern, the Vietnam War, a friend's apartment on First Avenue, and a Menotti opera with a totally inept director kept me awake most of the night.

There was an article by Jane Brody in the NYT earlier today about the benefits of yoga, specifically about stopping bone loss. It's no longer on the site, but if it reappears it's worth a look.

I read a number of the reader comments and am amazed that yoga, of all things, can be so controversial. Is the Internet the online version of road rage? If you're feeling irritable and just have to take it out on someone you lash out at someone's (worthy) article?

I have been watching a lot of Cyd Charisse movies today.  I remember that MR BK wrote about Meet Me in Las Vegas in the last couple of weeks.  It's a lot of fun.

I like Dan Dailey a lot - and they drive a big RED Lincoln, that seems to be the same one the Ann Miller drove in THE OPPOSITE SEX.  I also watched TWO WEEKS IN ANOTHER TOWN which is kind of a strange look at movie making.....and Leslie Uggams wears the same dress that Dolores Gray first wore in IT'S ALWAYS FAIR WEATHER....which is on next!

It would also Be nice if people stopped telling me stories about how their jaws never healed around the implant posts properly and they couldn't have the teeth put on.

Oh No!  What odds did the surgeon give You?  When I had mine done he said it looked good.

Here's the scary story we were following last night from the retirement community where Richard's mother lived the last 10 years of her life:

Fire at Mount Pleasant Retirement Village (http://www.journal-news.com/news/news/local/firefighters-battle-blaze-at-monroe-retirement-com/nsFkR/)

It's the very wing of the very building where she lived...

The evacuation of everyone is impressive.

When I did the play version, no one wanted to come see it.

I saw it.   It was a great show!

DR TCB I am sorry I didn't think of any answer to your question.  I am pleased that Nicky is somewhat better.  I would have asked had you not mentioned him.

It didn't help that someone told me how it ended.
