After that, I finished sequencing the new Kritzerland CD - I had to watch the film, figure out what each cue was, run to the computer (and iTunes), find the cue, and do the new order.  It took about four hours all told, but it's done and a really good listen.  We had four cues that weren't in the film that will be on as bonus tracks.  All told, our CD runs about fourteen minutes longer than the LP of this title did.  And it's much better sound.

Good Evening!

Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous!!!

Today was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!

Guess my weather order was about a week late, huh?

Actually, it wasn't that awful last week, except Tuesday evening, Thursday afternoon, and Thursday evening.

Best of all, my two book blurbs arrived today - and without further ado - here they are and I couldn't be happier!

“Surviving and solving Murder at Hollywood High and Murder at the Grove
hasn't slowed down Kimmel's irrepressible teenage sleuth Adriana Hofstetter
a whit. Now she's back in arguably her most entertaining adventure,
searching for the murderer of a dedicated movieland preservationist. As with
the adorable Adriana's other amateur investigations, this one offers a
clever fairplay whodunit plot and an assortment of added delights for movie
fans, from a walking tour of Hollywood then and now to a hilarious
two-paragraph summation of the last fifty years of American film history
courtesy of a gloriously larger-than-life out-of-work producer. He's just
one of a gallery of memorable characters who, with the exception of a
vicious killer, wind up singing Hooray for Hofstetter.”

Dick Lochte, author of Sleeping Dog and co-author (with Al Roker) of Murder
on the Morning Show

“Adriana Hofstetter is not your average teenager.  Bucking all the popular trends and touchstones of her generation, she is out-of-step, out-of-touch, and out-of-fashion; even her dial-up computer is out of date.  She's definitely not hanging with the cool kids.
But then how many cool kids solve mysteries with a skewed tenacity that puts Nancy Drew to shame?  In this latest adventure, neither LA downpours, doubting detectives, or the onslaught of Christmas can stop Adriana from sticking her quirky nose into the secrets of an array of Hollywood oldies and oddities to ferret out foul play.  All this is done with author Bruce Kimmel's usual witty panache that is a love letter to both Los Angeles and nerdy teenage misfits.”

bk - Just a word of "warning" about doing a reading in NYC in October: Try to schedule it toward the end of the month so that you won't "conflict" with NAMT, NYMF and The Fringe.  NYMF, in particular, is looking to be quite "starry" this year.  *And if I get one more invitation to a "fund-raising" party for a NYMF show, well... "Ignore"!

Yep, DR TCB, that is/was the character.

The final scene of today's - yesterday's for DR Jennifer - "Y&R" had me truly laughing out loud.  Practically howling!!!!

*I would have left the show too.  ::)

I missed it! I was writing and had the tv on in the background. What happened?

On a good note, I'm halfway through the second chart.

DR elmore - What DRs MattH and Jennifer said.

*If you wish to watch it for yourself, today's episode will be rebroadcast on SoapNet (Channel 119 on TWC) at midnight and 6:00am.

Also, DR MattH re: yesterday's Y&R

I'm curious how you knew what phillip would say. Did you read spoilers in advance? I don't read spoilers but i thought they were being pretty quiet about what his storyline would be (or if it would be him or his son who was gay).

The only spoilers i read now are for casting. I've been doing this for quite a while. Because i find i enjoy it a lot more when i don't know every detail that is coming up.

I believe I may have read the same article that DR MattH did.  -And I think the link was actually posted here on HHW a couple of weeks ago.  ???  In any case...

I'm still trying to figure out if Cain was actually passing himself off as Philip - or as some long lost twin. I missed a couple of those episodes when that whole revelation was taking place - along with the whole baby-switching stuff -  and now that Philip is back on the scene, well...  Then again, it's a soap opera, it's not supposed to make sense.

I remember there being a couple of different articles posted here. But the only ones i read were ones where he hinted at interesting things to come. I did not read anything where the cat was let out of the bag. Although sometimes people on the soaps group mention things unintentionally. So i was pretty sure it would be him who was gay.

re: cane.

Apparently Phillip 3 (P3) faked his own death (even though apparently it was practically done on screen). But anyhow he went to australia, met cane and then they arranged for cane to come back to be P3.

All soap characters who come back always die on screen.  I believe that's in the rule book.

;)

Its title comes from an old vaudeville joke, a variation of which evolved into dialogue between the two protagonists:
Nat: Hey, Rappaport! I haven't seen you in ages. How have you been?
Midge: I'm not Rappaport.
Nat: Rappaport, what happened to you? You used to be a short fat guy, and now you're a tall skinny guy.
Midge: I'm not Rappaport.
Nat: Rappaport, you used to be a young guy with a beard, and now you're an old guy with a mustache.
Midge: I'm not Rappaport.
Nat: Rappaport, how has this happened? You used to be a cowardly little white guy, and now you're a big imposing black guy.
Midge: I'm not Rappaport.
Nat: And you changed your name, too!

A I'm Not Rappaport related questions

The play has a small cast of 7

There are five understudies. Two actors cover two roles

I know that Standbys call the theater to see if they are needed. And they don;t have to be at the theater during the performance.

1) Understudies usually appear in the show playing a smaller role. In this play they do not play a role onstage. As understudies are they required to stay at the theater during the performance?

2) what happens if two actors are out and there is only the one actor who understudies both those two actors and the two characters appear onstage at the same time, What happens? Is the performance cancelled?

Didn't the actor leave the show at the time, because his brother murdered his parents and he needed to go into hiding because his brother threatened to kill him too

DR Jennifer - As for "Y&R"... I'm just trying to remember if Cane actually said he was PC3? Or if he was "found" to be PC3? And, if so, how did "they" explain the difference in appearance.  I guess those people on the soap operas watch soap operas too and know that the same character could be played by a different actor over the course of time.  ;)

Adam certainly changed looks in the blink of an eye.

Not all stand-by's have the luxury of just calling in - or being on a beeper. That's a contractual thing.

Understudies for any show are required to be "in the house" during a performance.  They are released at a time designated by the stage manager which is decided upon during the course of rehearsal and previews.  Some understudies have to be there from curtain up to curtain down.  Other times, they get to leave once the last scene has started.  -During A Chorus Line, the understudies were not released until the costume change was done for the finale.

If the understudy - or understudies - are both out, then a cancellation is possible. However, sometimes a stage manager or assistant stage manager will step in.

*And wasn't there a case where the author or director ended up going on sometime in the recent past (last year or two) for a major off-Broadway production?
