Mr LaBrie's audition was a huge success. He has a huge voice and likes singing operetta: a good Victor Herbert choice!

There aren't any real spoilers, but if you want a LOT of "Lost" questions to think about, read this:

‘Lost’ – Smoke, Monsters and Mirrors.

I didn't find my battery recharger, but we did buy a universal charger that charges lots of sizes of batteries. It is huge. I can't possibly lose this one.

Of course, I expect now I will find the lost one without looking.

Re the leg - I've mentioned it but I really don't know if it can go without making the photo seem even weirder - tricky.  Once you really look at the bottom of the seat I'm sitting in, you'll see that he's sitting behind me and slightly to the right.

That is what they said about the Kennedy assasination photo!

I've done all my taxes now except for the out of town trips last year, and I'll do those when I return from Mr LaBrie's audition.  I will head out now.

If anyone wants to hear Steven, here's his performance as a winner of the competition for the Dallas Opera:

I hope he is as nice a person as he is handsome and talented.

Oh, the Criterion titles were YOJIMBO, SANJURO, DAYS OF HEAVEN, and BIGGER THAN LIFE.

Oh, YOJIMBO!  That is one of my favorite Robin Williams' movies.

Back from a long casting session with about thirty-five percent no-shows - unbelievable.  We cast a few roles today with some excellent actors.  We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Grant gets funny sometimes but I'm sure I can convince him to at least attempt to remove the leg.

I had a rather large contretemps with the author of the only musical.  He's a big, huge bully boy, totally irrational, and crazy as a bedbug.  Everyone on the creative team has had to deal with it - it's like he has to have a villain every day.  Well, today, he totally took an amusing and completely innocuous thing I said and had an unbelievably embarrassing fit in front of everyone in the room - the composer, the lyricist, our star, and someone who's doing our private reading.  I should have just sat there and let him do his things, but after having seen him do it so much to so many I blew up.  At one point, because he wouldn't stop, I threatened to knock him on the ground and let me tell you had he not stopped I would have.  Then on our next break, I took him in the other room alone and told him this could never ever happen again.  It's what I should have done rather than blow up, but we're all slaves to our buttons and emotions.  I'm sick to death of his drama and I told him so.  And he's never wrong - it's always someone else's fault.  He agreed to not do it again - I told him that if he EVER has a problem with anything I say or do all he has to do is pull me aside and mention it, out of earshot of others.

Then, after the session, I talked to the lyricist and we both feel that it's time to really dress this guy down and we're going to do it (along with the composer) after the reading on Friday.  Before I step one foot in a rehearsal room with actors, I want his assurance that nothing like this will happen, and my collaborators want it, too.  One of them was the victim a couple of nights ago and she called me to tell me she was close to walking away - I told her I wouldn't blame her.

It's been a relaxing day for me, which I needed after the last few days of running around and looking after my Mom.  She's feeling much better - thanks for the vibes!  I puttered a bit around the house, saw DS Rob off to Michigan, and ran a late afternoon errand to the library and post office.  Richard and I are now settled in for our evening of Olympics viewing.

Well, I'm leaving now.  My sister and niece are coming over for dinner because their kitchen was flooded last night.

Until later!

DR George - you are a very good brother/uncle.  I hope your sister's household woes are history.

Could you ask your sister to put together that new bookcase for you while she is there?

Animal grinch?

That's the name I've given myself for being indifferent to them and definitely not interested in having any pets myself.  I'm glad there are are so many pet lovers here and throughout the world, but I'm a grinch.

I watched a Bollywood monster movie today. Jaani Dushman (1979). It was fun. The plot was about a big hairy creature, sort of big foot like, who killed women on their wedding nights.

Now I am watching a Bollywood movie from 1975 that stars Sajid, who many may recall from the old TV series MAYA.
