I wonder if Szell ever used Excel?

Time will tell. Or William Tell. Hell.

Finished with my viewing.  Listening to Szell/Casadesus do Mozart piano concertos, then it's on to the Schumann symphonies, which I don't really have to listen to since I have them by Szell on SACD - just want to hear if the mastering is better there.

DR John I am wearing my Luckenback sweatshirt today.  Have you been to concerts there?

I have driven through there many times but I haven’t had the occasion to stop there yet.

There isn't much to see but we had fun just being there.

Thanks for all the patented HHW vibes.

The presentation was exactly 45 minutes, and I think it went well. All the embedded videos played as they were supposed to. People seemed receptive.

Very good.

I was very fortunate that I just had not taken a lot of vacation over the past few years, and had a lot of banked days between vacation and sick time. Even with all of the time I have taken off over the past 3 to 4 months, I think I still have about 30 days in reserve.

Vibes you don't need to use it up for more sick leave.

Finished project one - lots of futzing and finessing to do and since it involves music, I still have some of that work to do, but it's done.

I was going to bypass the Schumann symphonies but I'm enjoying them so much that I'm not going to bypass.  And the sound is great, which means the SACD was taken from this master, which is, after all, just two years old.

Met with my surgeon this morning. It looks like my recent medical journey has reached an end point. There are still consultations to see if I need to modify my diet, but no further surgeries in the immediate future.

Fantastic news!!

I watched the first act of The Wind in the Willows that's streaming on YouTube right now.  It's the musical version that's also available through Amazon Streaming and BroadwayHD.

It's just a very big show.  I ran sound for an original musical adaptation about eight years ago and it was absolutely delightful and thoughtful.  This was big and bombastic and had a huge cast.  We had just enough people and it was so good.
