Speaking of diners, last night on PBS there was a program about good USA places for breakfast, and they gave a portion of the show to the Post Road Diner.

Have you ever been there, DR ChasSmith?

No, but I’ve driven by it. I must check out that program.

I think I'll open a theatre with twenty seats and start putting on plays.....it should be fun.

Maybe I'll start with Les Miz - that should bring in the audiences!

Hasn't LESS MIZ been done?

My HMO is now being difficult about approving more physical therapy.  Damn.

Do you know why? I learned that my stupid HMO had denied my surgery last year without even checking with me or my doctor, they just assumed certain things hadn't been done, then denied the procedure because of that. Once I saw what they were doing I told my doctor, who then resubmitted with additional information. This time it was aproved.

The above post references the dancing cat, not the fact that it's page three.

I've always loved Bach, but I didn't love Brahms at first. I thought of his music as stodgy. (I know, I know.) I'm not sure what made me change my mind, maybe listening more carefully, but I learned to love Brahms as well.

I have no news.

But I'll make a tiny comment about being very happy about something in today's news. It's politics, so I'll leave it there.

Do you think this pays off with many people not even bothering to question it  and just paying it assuming it's their resposbility?

My doctor had to spend time on the phone getting a test approved for me.  PT can often be extended if something new is added to the mix.

Remember when I took my Mom to the ER and we left without her being seen after sitting in the waiting room for hours?

I really don't know how the Utilization Management department, as it's called at my HMO, thinks. Since I have a Medicare Advantage plan medical expenses are charged back to Medicare. In theory, I don't think they cost the plan/HMO anything. Non-Medicare plans work differently, I believe, and the plan/HMO has to cover the expense.

As to whether any of these organizations benefit from patients/plan members who don't question things, I'm sure they do. I've seen so much apathy and incompetence. I feel you need to challenge their decisions if they don't seem right or are simply illogical.

I'm not surprised. Does she have original Medicare or Medicare Advantage? My former Medicare Advantage people went to bat for me when I was charged $2500 for an ambulance ride that was supposed to be $200. If she has original Medicare she (or you) are on your own to fight it. It's outrageous, of course, but that's the way they do business.

Did the hospital cancel the bill?

It is time to vote at Goodreads for our favorite books.  I am having a difficult time deciding between two equally excellent books in the mystery section.

Nope and in fact she didn’t find out about it until her insurance had already paid them $230

Is that one of your favorite comedy teams?

I'm not sure I know what I think about it. Some very strange and powerful stuff in it.
