Again, the Alice Faye DVDs didn't come today, so I went to the to-watch shelf and picked KHARTOUM, a movie I have never seen before. I watched about 30 minutes of it and was interested in it, so I'll look forward to finishing it between now and tomorrow.

But the MGM transfer, as good as it looked in terms of color and sharpness, was NOT Ultra Panavision. And you could tell that with the sides shaved off to lessen the letterbox, people near the edges of the frame were cut in half or cut out completely.

The Stereo Surround sounded fine, but a totally repurposed 5.1 track probably would have been better.

Sherlock and I had a nice long trek through the snow, in some areas it was at least 12 inches deep.  We came inside after about 2 hours, just about the time Keith was finishing snow blowing & shoveling the driveway.  I did help shovel for all of ten minutes.

Since we are basically snowed in for at least a coupe of days, I think I shall begin reading the manuscript.

I will try and post some photos of Sherlock in the snow later.  I forgot to take the camera on our hike-a shame as it was just beautiful this morning.

One tiara - $5,000

One pair of black men's briefs - $2.00 (well, 6 for $9.00)

An unforgettable night out in the East Village - Priceless

Do the black men know you have their briefs?

I bet DR Cillaliz has a few briefs laying about her office!

OK...

Breathe...

Two boxes sorted and shelved and/or purged.

Breathe...

That's a start.  A good start.

When I moved everything up here a few weeks ago - well,  even way before I moved everything up here a few weeks ago - I told myself just to take it nice and easy.  Just go through two boxes a day.  And I really think that's the best way to go.

I had just started peeking into other boxes to check out what was in them, to see if the labels matched their contents...  A bit overwhelming, so...

Breathe...

Two boxes is good for today.

I had a lovely breakfast meeting, very productive, then went to my designer's house and finished the new release booklet, which looks splendidly splendid - I still have to write a short two paragraphs, which I'll do momentarily, then I have to write the blurb - we're planning on this going up by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

Speaking of customer service, I went to BofA today - every single employee that I know and who take care of me are no longer working there.  I mean every single one, including the head assistant manager.  So, today they put a hold on a local check, which they've never done before - and there's no one for me to speak to.  I called small business services when I got home and while they can't do anything about it today, they will tomorrow when they can "see" the check.  The supervisor I talked to said she didn't understand why the teller put the hold on the check in the first place (I made a similar deposit three days ago with no hold - nor have they ever put a hold on a local check) - the teller told me the machine was asking for the hold.  So, something's screwy somewhere.  It doesn't matter in the scheme of things as the hold comes off on Monday, but it's the principal, and the supervisor was very nice about it and very understanding about my chagrin.  I'm fairly certain the hold will come off tomorrow - if not, we'll be having a further conversation about it, and then they'll have to assure me this will not happen again.

DR elmore - For some unknown reason, I seem to have two big binders of string parts (copies) for South Pacific?  Should I recycle them or would you like to have the honors?

DR Jose, I think you should pitch them, no  pun intended!

I'm actually coming across some other xerox copies of various shows (piano/vocal scores), and since I have hard copies of said shows...  *I always buy my own copy, and play from a copy so that I can mark and edit it up to my heart's content.

I know I owe DR vixmom and the vixter some "archival copies", but are there any other DRs who might be interested in what I'm bound to continue to come across in the days (weeks) to come?

Did you come across "Little shop" yet?

I began the evening finishing THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD. Always love it when all the men of Sherwood get down on one knee when King Richard reveals himself.

Hmm, you must have borrowed that version from Larry!

Well, I was recipient of another attack from Macbeth today.  He's really bummed that I'm the executor, and I do think he's spending too much time anticipating disasters caused by my being 500 miles away  It got a bit intense, until, when asked, I finally gave him the reasons I was retaining the position:
   1.  Last November, Dad still wanted me as esecutor, and we went together to make a copy of his will fro me to take to NYC
   2.  Since I knew my inheritance was unwelcome in some quarters, I was making sure that we all three got the same as the will specified
   3.  That I was seeing all outstanding bills on the estate were paid by me since there had been too much noise from the Macbeth side of the woods about how much my father owed them

I could have gone into how disappointed my dad was in both Macbeths after last year's scene, but I think I made my points without too much stone throwing.  Last summer, Macbeth's resentment made me cry because I never saw it coming from someone I loved.  That was last year's news.

Macbeth should be GLAD he is not executor. It's a lot of work and paperwork.

Elmore, did you file an address change for your dad's mail? I wouldn't trust Macbeth to send it to you.

Does a bottle of Grand Marnier come with it?

No.

*But at least the mini-shaker is cute.  However, the glasses have a Grand Marnier tint to them - sort of red, orange, brownish - consequently, they look dirty.  -Maybe if I put some ice in them... ;)
