Good morning, all! Yesterday went really, really well. At one point after the orchestra break in the first session, one of the soloists' microphones began crackling and sputtering and we feared we would have another series of problems like the day before. Fortunately it was repaired quickly, and we finished off the chorus and three more soloists last night. Today we are down to our two leads Eamonn and Mary, the adorable Rachel Kelly, and all the orchestral music: Overture, dance in Act Three, Entr'Actes, Entrance Music, and orchestra selection.

I've been getting sadder as each artist finishes up and vanishes; we lost Dean Power on Monday, and yesterday we said goodbyes to Joe Corbett, Andrew Ashwin, Lynda Lee, and Philip O'Reilly, all first rate talents and wonderfrully charming and funny people. I had mentioned to the singers that one of Victor Herbert's most famous shows was NAUGHTY MARIETTA, and, after he said goodbye, Joe Corbett went to a market and brought back for me and Judy Sherman packs of Mariettas, a thin shortbread-like cookie with a taste similar toi animal crackers. This has been a great adventure, but we do have limited time today so please, everyone, keep sending good recording vibes.

I'm still chuckling over DR  Dan(theMan)'s earthquake photo and really happy about the news that our DR TCB will not be losing a leg.

I've got six hours to kill before today's sessions from 4-11:30; I'll be back later.

TOD: What are the differences you're finding in working for something online as  opposed to TV? Will the episodes be roughly the same length or do you feel one can be 30 minutes, the next longer or shorter as needed?

Well, the library had "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark." Guess I saved buying that one. From the beginning, the music sounded faux Irish in that mournful, U2 way. It is certainly their music. But I almost expected the funeral, "We're Alive" number from "Juno" to come next. Only nothing with quite that much imagination followed. Just mournful.

Tonight we move on to Act Two of Don't Drink the Water - I am in the "party" scene with a couple of lines, so we shall see how that goes.

My question for ASK BK DAY......what is your favorite Woody Allen movie quip?

I have many, but I think one of my favorites is in What's New Pussycat? ...  wherein he says that he is working at the Follies Bergere helping the girls change clothes for twenty francs a week.  When someone says that's not very much money.....he replies...."That's all I can afford to pay them."

JRand, I played Killroy in this with Shelley Berman in dinner theatre years ago.  In fact, it was my dinner theatre debut.  I remember he and I were watching the director do a big bit of schtick with an actor.  Shelley gave me a dour glance and out of the corner of his mouth said, "I like my comedy...subtle."

Kilroy is a good part......all of them are funny DR CP....   I am on the stage and off pretty quickly as the Sultan....or at least I hope I can be.

For some reason this director wants a LOT of party guests and actual protesters in the audience with signs and yelling which is completely unnecessary.....when the scene starts, the party is ending, and the sounds of the protesters would be sufficient....instead we will have 10 or 12 extra people wandering around the green room every night with nothing to do......Oh, and no, the protesters cannot also be the party guests, thank you very much.

My party guests are frequently protestors, but I suspect that's different.
