I probably should have waited until page 15, it would have been more conducive to witty sayings. Now I'm stuck with this boring post just mourning my lost chance at glory.....

*sigh*

In honor of vixmom's 5555th post, check out what happens in the year 5555:

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find........

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do, or say
Is in the pill you took today

In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you

In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your sides
Your legs got nothing to do
Some machine, doing that for you

In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube

In the year 7510
If God's a comin' he ought to make it by then
Maybe he'll look around himself and say
``Guess it's time for the Judgement day''

In the year 8510
God's gonna shake his mighty head
He'll either say ``I'm pleased where man has been''
Or tear it down and start again

In the year 9595
I'm kinda wondering if man's gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing...

Now it's been 10,000 years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew
Now man's reign is through
But through the eternal night
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Maybe it's only yesterday...

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find.......

Stock up on a lot of DVDs!

For starters, I have Junebug from Netflix and a copy of Rent that I purchased the week it was released.  I'm thinking of buying Good Night and Good Luck, too.

I'm curious what you think of Junebug. I haven't seen it yet.

Tomovoz, what Homer and Jethro are you turning to CD? I myself am in the process of putting all my H&J on minidisk for eventual CD conversion.

From the lyrics of that song, it is easy to see why Zager and Evans never had another hit.

We're supposed to have a snow storm this weekend and all the work I'm going to do at the other house is done, so...I may FINALLY get around to unpacking a bunch more boxes and really get settled here.  I have the rooms I use the most all settled, but not the rest of the house.  My friends keep asking when they can see the house, so it's time to really get things put away... can't wait till it's done.

vixmom - I do some tax work per diem for a CPA firm now, not a law firm - suits my temperament better, and allows me time for theater-related professional pursuits.  That quote about the Long Island office was about a law firm we used to share quarters with that had an office in Jericho.

Well I survived day 2 of my diet. I want to lose weight, but I'm trying to just change my diet to be healthier and I think the weight loss will come.  Hopefully tomorrow I can start on the treadmill, but I'm not going to push it, I want it to heal

Well, the lyrics to "In the Year 2525" can't hold a candle to today's new standards:

[Chorus 2X: Shug - singing] + (Djay)
You know it's hard out here for a pimp (you ain't knowin)
When he tryin to get this money for the rent (you ain't knowin)
For the Cadillacs and gas money spent (you ain't knowin)
[1] Because a whole lot of b**ches talkin sh*t (you ain't knowin)
[2] Will have a whole lot of b**ches talkin sh*t (you ain't knowin)

The alternating final lines of the chorus of that song add layers of meaning, if you ask me.

I watched all the MISS MARPLE trailers from the MURDER MOST FOUL DVD. The movies are obviously in much better shape than the trailers.
