Oh, I know I'm gonna feel dumb when the answer to that question is revealed.  Was it the Palladium?

I hope DR Jay that you don't suffer from the "why does it always reign on me" syndrome"? What is the collective noun for Queens  wonder.

Yeah for a recipe day!

But I don't think I'll be able to post at all tomorrow, as I will be out.  Maybe first thing in the morning at around 8am.

I need to check out that recipe now.

Suffering, I fear, is just the Royal way, Dear TfO.  Look at what's being said now about Bonnie Prince Charlie.  Imagine, caught in a compromising position with his valet.  And I thought Wilde said that no man is a hero to his valet.  Perhaps Elizabeth Regina II shall live as long as her mum, Charles predecease her, leaving that adorable fruit of Diana's loins to lead the UK.

Ah yes, Queen for a Day!  When it came on, I knew it was almost time for my brother to come home from school.

Oh, I cried and cried at the stories....and yes the horrible applause meter would decide which poor, pitiful creature would become Queen for a Day!

Two horrible stories I remember to this day, was the woman who came to the show from her son's funeral...he was killed in the fire when her house burned down.....and the woman who had just had a baby and her husband and two other children had been killed in an auto crash on the way to visit her and the new baby in the hospital!   :'(

Of course, being a Queen in Perpetuity is an entirely different matter than being Queen for a Day.  If that's what you're interested in, then I can regale you for some time about its many enjoyments.
What are mole tails?

Okay I'll be quuen for perpetuity. Sounds better.

And now for the tears to flow. Thanks JRand. I wonder is she kept the silver tea service or had to pawn it.

I got that part. But then what is the link button for? If you just have a link but don't put http:// ?

If Charles should pre-decease his mother, would not his brother Andrew become heir to the throne before Charles' children?

For those who needed to know and are not observant: After a close vote on the many options I have decided to go with the Seedy look. Thomas the Tank engine came a close second but ran out of puff. (not poof).

JRand. NO. The laws of succession would have it quite otherwise. There is no (well amost no) possibility of Edward becoming queen either.

I am at work. I am still at work. This would be fine except I am not on the west coast so that means I am still at work and it's 8:30pm. I will also be working this weekend. And let us not get me started on how frustrated I am about that.  Oh yes - frustrated would be the word.  Me thinks there is a leeeeeeeeetle discussion that the boss and I are going to have to have sooner rather than later.

THIS is what you should tell him:

In the mean time, the karma fairy smiles on you for all your hard work.

That is true, Ozzie, but I am sure that Edward would be quite happy to be the Queen Mum.

Jay:  Please tell me that you weren't really surprised about Prince Charles.

Nice choice of picture DR Tom from Oz.

Oh, interesting, I really thought unless Charles became King, his children were not in direct line to the throne.  So then Andrew and Edward are more useless than ever.

Hmmmmmmmmm....I was thinking that Queen for a Day was broadcast from either the Hollywood Palace or Hollywood's own Roosevelt Hotel.....

Well, I am off to pick a pocket or two, boys.

I thought it was the Roosevelt Hotel also.

Who knew I liked the seedy look?

Royal Succession:  It always runs through the eldest son.  If Charles had daughters instead of sons, the eldest of them would be the heir-designate to the throne.  Andrew and Princess Edward are footnotes in royal history books now.  If Anne had been born before Charles, he'd still have been heir to the throne over her.

As for the location of "Queen for a Day," I had it in my mind that it was broadcast from some location at Hollywood and Vine....but then again, I also gave thought to the Brown Derby...but that would have been crazy.

Where was it, BK?

Have fun at rehearsal, TCB.

Jennifer - if you cut and paste http:// isn't always on there....and also I think there may be a difference between a link and a HOT link.  Some sites don't allow hot links or give a hot link url so by using the icon in the task bar you can create one.

Or maybe I am wrong.

Not really a difficult choice TCB. You have to know what sells. Enjoy your pockets a full report please on your return from Oom Pah Pah land. What "Oliver" CD do you play? I assume it is not "Good Morning Starshine".

Has the excellent "The Lost Prince" by Stephen Poliakov (sP) had an airing on TV in the US of A yet? It is a heartbreaking story and well worth the viewing.

Forgot: it is the story of QE IIs uncle Edward. Not to be confused with Edward Prince of Wales who abdicated. (He of course was really John or some such other name). Edward died in his early teens.

Because DR JRand53, I am in my "routine" -- I have fed and watered the cat; I have selected my menu for my own dinner, and now I am resting/relaxing pre-preparation of food after which I shall settle in front of the tube.
