Thank you, DR JRand66! The breakfast reunion was a nice 90 minutes of catchup. And I agree with DR JohnG: if this is what the new Barnum film sounds like, it's a must miss movie. I've heard elevator muzak with more appeal.

On Sunday, I made a combined birthday dinner for Mom and Dad. I made garlic-stuffed lamb, which is one of his favorites, as well as some oven-roasted Greek potatoes with garlic and oregano as well as a Greek salad and some snap peas with garlic.

In anticipation of the many many animals that will become lost this evening as a result of the fireworks, the county pound waived adoption fees to clear out the kennels.

I thought about it, but decided not to. I'll never find another cat as wonderful as Joshie.

I'm up, I'm up - sort of. Probably six hours of sleep, but Sprinkler Man is here - turns out the gardener turned on this thing that has the leak and forgot to turn it off. I'd asked that yahoo to fix it in the first place and he wouldn't - had to be someone else. So, he's putting a new valve on so the leak won't be a problem and I'll just deduct it along with the first cost from the rent. It's only seventy-five bucks.

Independence Day greetings! Last night Richard and I went over to the former site of Middletown Regional Hospital, the highest point in town, and watched our local fireworks show along with many other displays that we could see in the distance. The local show, which originated in Smith Park, began with skydivers carrying flares and setting off fireworks as they descended. That was very cool!

TOD - 43 years ago today, Middletown celebrated The Bicentennial with a huge parade that ended at our new city building. Our theatre group had a float for which DR Elmore designed and constructed fabulous costumes, including a bustle dress that I wish I still had (and could still wear...).

Yesterday I went to BJ's. (It's like Costco) after work. They had $4 off coupons for the dishwasher tablets I use and if you bought 2 you got 25 cents off per gallon at their gas station. I was running on empty so that worked up quitenicely, I paid only $1.94 a gallon for 17.03 gallons , my local gas station is charging $2.49

I'm trying to do an online preview of some highlights from my newest book of parody lyrics, which is "More About the Donald! Sung to the Oldies."

It'll be interesting to see if giving some of it away this way winds up with more people than usual eventually buying the book. (or maybe less people, who ever knows.)
