For All Mankind is fascinating for what it inadvertently shows as well as the beauty of its tale. Only once, when the space ship has landed, do we see a woman. The rest of the time, we see only white men. This isn’t even the world of Hidden Figures.
It’s also easy to understand, in its way, the total disinterest that blacks had at the time, as seen in news clips in Summer of Soul. They were not included. Their faces were nowhere to be seen.
