Oh I forgot a local production of  West Side Story that was excellent and a local production of Jane Eyre which I enjoyed.

The state mediation has suggested the workers get their asses off the picket lines and return to work and for the negotiations to continue.  The strike may end today, but the matter has to go to the union's board for their decision.

Alright it is official.... in the interest of non-denominational celebrations I will NOT be sending Christmas cards this year... I will be sending New Year's cards...

It is a statement for peace and unity and celebration of an event we all share and should not in any way be considered an indication that I might be disorganized or behind schedule in getting my Christmas  and Hannukah cards out on time

I'm up, I'm up.  I forgot to turn the heat off last night - I hate that.

Beautiful blue skies today.

So, is the union being charged one million a day?  I hope no one is going to forgive that, because they are causing people too much grief.

TOD - maybe if I list everything I saw this year, it'll add up to 10!  In chronological order:

La Cage aux Folles (NYC)
Jewish Thighs on Broadway (NYC)
Mamma Mia (Indianapolis)
The Producers (Dayton)
The Lion King (Chicago)
Anything Goes (Middletown High School)
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Cincinnati)
My Fair Lady (Dayton)
Walking Down Broadway (NYC)
Ten Tenors (Dayton)
The Full Monty (Dayton)

Oh, it's 11!  That's more live theater than I'd seen in one year in a very long time

Of course we will miss the Pogues at our Christmas Eve Do.

Where in tarnation IS everyone?  I tell you, we mustn't let the Christmas season put a crimp in our excellent postings, especially with all the errant and truant hainsies/kimlets.

I saw very few live shows and concerts this year.  The best of them was Dame Edna: Back With A Vengeance.

On my worst list, the awful production of City of Angels I saw in North Hollywood.

I also saw The Drowsy Chaperone, but while I enjoyed it, it wouldn't make a "best" list.  Saw everything at the Pasadena Playhouse, but none of it would make a "best" list.

I suppose I could put Mr. Kevin Spirtas' show on my best list, but that would be unseemly.

The transit strike is apparently at an end, pending ratification which, of course, will happen.  My only question is whether the union will be forgiven its fines along with the workers who striked being forgiven their fines.  Given the grief they caused people, and the illegality of the strike, I would hope that those fines will NOT be forgiven - otherwise, a) they learn nothing, and b) other unions will follow suit and have illegal strikes.

Hello hello from Fabulous Las Vegas! My favorite show is Plaid Tidings, in which I made my professional stage debut on Tuesday and received the highly coveted Plaid Dental Floss.

Today I went for a walk on the Strip, and since my camera is still in the shop, I can't post the photos of casino carpets I didn't take.

TOD:

I've seen 77 live performances this year (Jan. 1 - now), so it's hard to pick just 10...but I'll try.

1. SPELLING BEE
2. SWEENEY TODD
3. THE COLOR PURPLE
4. DAME EDNA: BACK WITH A VENGANCE!
5. SHOCKHEADED PETER
6. DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS
7. THE PILLOWMAN
8. SOUVENIR
9. JERSEY BOYS
10. AUDRA McDONALD IN CONCERT

and rounding out the top 5 for worst things I've ever seen:

1. GOOD VIBRATIONS
2. IN MY LIFE
3. THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL
4. UNDER THE BRIDGE
and who can forget...
5. SUZANNE SOMERS: THE BLONDE IN THE THUNDERBIRD

:D

You, show-off!! ;)

77 live performances and you can't chose 10! ;D

Think; I must have seen 3 or 4!

I guess it's "excrutiating" for me!! :D

Vixdad is still asking me for things to buy for me (I really couldn't think of anything I wanted or needed this year... so content am I) It just occurred to me that perhaps I should ask for a bottle of this!
