I found last night's LOST too contrived for my own taste, though Betsy loved it.

In unrelated news, people are flocking to my Farmer article.  Not quite sure why--did FRANCES just run on cable?

DR Ginny: Those sounds great. Just the right warmth for the day.

Oh, I suspect it's simply because of the uniqueness and wonderment that is YOU!

Question for bk:

If you ever won a Grammy for one of your produced recordings, would you display the award in your home and, if so, where?

And since you have received Grammy nominations before, did you get a certificate of nomination? Do you have it displayed if so?

I would display it proudly, probably on one of the fireplace mantels.  The nomination certificate hangs in the book room.

I'm up, the sky is blue, the house is freezing, and shortly I shall begin looking at yesterday's writing, after which I shall start the new pages.

Happy birthday, DR Edisarus!

And a nice mention of DR Elmore on Theatermania this morning: http://www.theatermania.com/new-york/news/02-2010/midwinter-musical-musings_24609.html

thank you for sharing this.

DR Ginny: I agree on the trek to the library. It's just not worth it in this weather. A fire in the fireplace, however, might just be what is called for.

Actually, DR John G, I was thinking of baking cinnamon pecan coffee cakes.

yum.

good luck with the lab results & you can reduce the meds a little!

DR Jane, you're welcome. I can't wait to hear it. "Finian's" has always been one of my favorite scores. In ninth grade, back in the dark ages, it as a big deal that a couple of my classes was able to rent a movie to show. So, I saw the film back-to-back in (get this) Latin and then English. Don't ask the logic of it, but learning that music was wonderful.

DR Larry Moore:  That amazon.com review was one of the reviews of the DVD of the "new" "Emma" for which Amazon.com is taking pre-orders.

Here it is under the headline A lavish production marred by poor casting.

Thank you, DR Ron Pulliam, I may go write a rebuttal.

Perhaps you're unaware I own the Salem Stanley Steemer franchise and am desperately trying to drum up some business.  ;)

Thanks, DR Jane - I'm hoping more for a longer interval between tests, like maybe until Monday?

he spent enough time removing the cranes (it was under renovation at the time) & figured that was good enough. :)

Congrats to DR MBARNUM on his article publication!  What did Lisa have to say that you can share?

She suggested that Rod Taylor was a bit fresh, and that working for Roger Corman could be hazardous to your health.

Rod Taylor tried to get in her pants? Bet you're jealous!

Was Corman hazardous to physical or mental health?

*However, it looks like I finally got a hold of someone who knows what she is doing.  She even knew the related account info without having to ask for it... like the previous FIVE representatives had to keep asking me and asking me.

Good luck Jose & thanks again for the heads up on TCM.  I've set a few of the movies to record, there are sooo many to chose from I let Keith do it.  Now I'm going to add a few more for my viewing :)

Thank you for the birthday wishes, Jennifer and Matt!

Matt, I may be working on a project with someone from Charlotte. Who knows...but I may see more of Charlotte than the airport this year!

Keep me informed. If I'm not swamped by work, maybe we can have lunch somewhere.

That would be great! It would probably start cranking up in April.

There will be a slight delay in the baking of the coffee cakes, as I've discovered I don't have enough flour.  We'll get some when we go out together later this afternoon.

Watched "The Music Man" on Blu-ray last night.

It's the best I've ever seen it.  It's the best I've ever heard it!

I thrilled, I laughed, I sang along, and I cried.

I "noticed" things I had never noticed before.

LOVED IT IN EVERY WAY!

I'm guessing they don't include our "Making of..." doc on the Blue Ray, since it was shot in lowly digibeta.
