Oddly, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER is a rerun tonight, but then the rest of the CBS slate is new.

DRIVE and '24' are new.

ABC and NBC have new episodes as well.

BK mentioned that he misses the curtain going up and down in the theater yesterday.

I miss it too, but can it be a cost cutting effect. They have to pay a teamster to press a button to raise and lower a curtain and that will add thousands a dollars to the budget that can be used elsewhere.

Am I correct about this?

I feel it's a part of the same idiocy from directors who believe that no one listens to music unless there's a visual element so operatic  and theatrical overtures are now being staged.

Gotta get some work done before I go play. I'm just a titch apprehensive about doing this, but it will be fun once I get there

Weather forecasting vibes to DR Cillaliz!  Would your mother find it amusing to have a hurricane named after her?

There is something special about watching a curtain go up.

I agree and personally prefer a curtain going up to opening horizontally from the center.

Today I must catch up on everything I didn't do while I was out of town. And I have paperwork galore. And I should continue painting.

Is it just my imagination, or a "coinky dink" [as DR George would say], but - -

It seems like every time painting is mentioned here at HHW, the postings come to a crashing halt?

I was in an amateur production of TWELVE ANGRY MEN about four years ago, and the script was a little more elaborate than the movie screenplay. As Juror #4 (think E.G. Marshall), I had a lot more to do in the play than he did in the film. I really adored doing that play, one of the few I can really say that about. The give and take with the actors was really treasurable.

DR Jose, I've read with interest all your adventures in transportation and your pit stops. Seems like the stars are aligning just right for you!

And the photo with Kander is priceless! It's great when you get to meet people whose work you admire and they turn out to be nice people, too!

TV Themes I dislike:
BANANA SPLITS-even when I was a child the bad music edits bothered me, even though I didn't know what an edit was!

The Banana Splits theme was covered by an Italian hip hop group I like: Articolo 31. They managed to record it without any obvious edits.

I forgot THE OFFICE.  I love this harmonica theme!

I haven't heard the American version, so don't know how they compare, but I do love the original British version's theme.

I'm no expert, but I think they're brass.

That must make it very difficult for you to walk...??!!??

So I recently bought a DVD of BBC mini-series of THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS from the early seventies, which I remember very fondly.  But what I remember most about the series was that "Mohicans" was pronounced MOCK-ANS...and I remember Alistair Cooke explaining at the time on Masterpiece Theatre that that was the way the word was pronounced then.

However, I watched the firsts episode last night and Hawkeye pronounced it Mo-He-Cans, the traditional way we hear it.  Did they re-dubbed for American consumption after the success of the Daniel Day-Lewis movie?
