What horrible news. Let's hope that count of 21 dead is an overestimate. I will never understand how humans can do things like this.

You have obviously never had you as a houseguest.

Seriously, however, I am appalled at the Virginia Tech tragedy and amazed that NBC, who stops programs for news whenever George Bush passes wind, hasn't dedicated more time to the story.

I just got back from my lunch/gym break and got a lot of details on this story from CNN there.  Absolutely tragic.

And Joshie would be...

I also recall reading that theatre owners have been discouraging curtain usage to prevent possible wear and tear on the curtain, itself.

...And I've also "heard" that some directors don't appreciate the set getting applause before anything happens on stage.

As for the Topic of the Day...

The two themes that always make me smile:

"Good Times"
"The Jeffersons" ("Movin' On Up")

*Although I remember Suzanne Somers performing some sort of medley on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson", and "Movin' On Up" was a part of it.  So, so, so wrong.

Hmmmm.....I like the "Green Acres" theme, especially the weird orchestration for twanging guitar and tinkling glockenspiel....

I wasn't at the reunion because it was not MY reunion - they are one year younger than me - my reunion was in October of 2005.

This summary of last night's TAR is right on.

SPOILERS

SPOILERS

If i have to listen to one more minute of mirna talking i will scream.

I really do not get why she says "i want to play clean" (implying that yielding is not clean).  If you cancel someone's taxi that is not clean.  But if you are competitive and yield the team you feel is the biggest threat (and don't do it based on personal issues) why is that not clean????

Of course, that would make them two years younger than me, which is, of course, completely unacceptable.

Well... At least some of the CNN coverage - well, the commentators - are providing some unintentional laughs with their comments and observations.  Unintentional, but laughs nonetheless.

You don't understand...they have to have appeared on movies and television first.

hmmmmm.. ... maybe I'll find a way to lure dear hunky MB into watching a videotape I have of my first TV special from Australia.....that would qualify me as having been on TV... :)  (actually, a ton of times in Oz)

Good Afternoon!

Well...  Four people showed up for the auditions I was hired to play for this morning.  They let me go at Noon.  I had lunch.  I came home.  I'm watching the news.  I'm reading and posting here on HHW.  That is all.

Well, not as much money as I was counting on. Those lobby card sets did not sell even for as much as I paid for them many years ago  :-\  I wonder if I should have split them up and sold the cards individually. Oh, well...you puts 'em up for bid and you takes your chances.

On a serious note  (D flat).... do you have any kind of link to your e-bay stuff?  Is anything left??  I'm looking to add some various "movie graphics" stuff to my new den/theatre room.

I wonder if 110 IN THE SHADE uses a curtain.

Some of those same "directors" should be happy to get what they can.  :P
