I am really not in the mood to be at the office, but I am very glad that I am about to get things back to normal for a while.  No trips, no seminars and no relatives stopping in for the night...

No television appearances...

Congrats to our Weather Girl, Cillaliz!

hmmmmm.. ... maybe I'll find a way to lure dear hunky MB into watching a videotape I have of my first TV special from Australia.....that would qualify me as having been on TV... :)  (actually, a ton of times in Oz)
Ah yes I remember it well.

In Oz everyone's a tv star!
True - I could send the DVD of my own appearances on TV (Not on Most Wanted or Biggest Loser either). DP Colin has appeared on French and Belgian TV.

Everyone's a star.

Actually DR CILLA LIZ it is against FCC rules to give a personal greeting over the airwaves....a rule that used to be bypassed by entertainers like Carol Burnett by asking them what they wanted to say and then say:  "No, you can't do that....."

Prairie Home Companion does a whole segment of personal greetings and people often say "Hi mom" or whatever on shows like Letterman or Oprah.  Are you sure that rule hasn't changed since the 60s?

That has always bothered me....mainly because I was more often friends with folks either in the class ahead of me or behind me.   I've often considered crashing their reunions just to have some fun.

In my hometown the class does the dinner or whatever without others and then anyone is invited to join them for a later event.  Lots of people go to the reunions of other classes.

I've spent the day playing executor, and I've written letters, made phone calls, and sent emails.  It was nice today to throw a little blame into the Macbeths' yard, since they've turned out to be the glitch in our not receiving checks from my dad's union pension fund.

I guess the main reason that I feel so smug is that Macbeth's behavior since February has been to let me know what a poor executor I would be.  I think I'll sit down and laugh my ass off.

I keep using today twice in sentences today!

Virginia Tech will be in huge trouble with lawsuits over two shootings with two hours in between and no warning and cautionary tactics.

I am seeing Coram Boy tonight. It was a big hit at the National Theatre in London in 2006. I know it's about an orphanage and there is a choir. That's about all I know. It was on TDF so again I get an inexpensive trip to the theatre!

We are seeing Deuce on Wednesday.

Anthony is on his way home from Monday afternoon dance class.

That is all from Chelsea.

I cannot understand, then, why DR MBarnum is not standing under your window and baying at the moon!

Neither can I!

"Australian Bandstand"?
Nice tries DR Ron.

Circa 1991.  I was a touch too old for Bandstand as was Colin in 1995 for French Bandstand.

Just imagine if Yanni had been in there, too!

I just drove past Yanni's house.  How come no one told me where he lived when he was still living there?  Damn

BK mentioned that he misses the curtain going up and down in the theater yesterday.

I miss it too, but can it be a cost cutting effect. They have to pay a teamster to press a button to raise and lower a curtain and that will add thousands a dollars to the budget that can be used elsewhere.

Am I correct about this?

So what excuse do community theaters have for "no curtain."

TOD

Probably favorite theme was THREE STARS WILL SHINE TONIGHT, from Dr. Kildare.  I think Chamberlain's single was the first 45 I ever bought.  But don't tell him, I don't think his ego could stand to get any bigger.

Cillaliz, I'm glad your weather forecasting went well today. I'm sure you were not nervous at all, since you are used to public speaking.

For the suggestion box:  Perhaps Mark Bakalor can build us a little tally counter thingamabobby over on the side of the screen that counts and totals "euphemisms" and "double entrendres" for each day.
