Well, you've read the notes, the notes were run through, and now it is time for you post until the run through cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EXISTENTIAL!
-
First post after BK.
-
First post after Tom.
-
Good night.
-
Good night, Tom.

I love the penguins so they're staying - but there's pieces of the Lorraine and Maggie scenes that serve no purpose, so I think we're going to remove those.

BK, are you allowed to just make those cuts or do you have to ask permission?

Oh, no! Shelley Morrison, Rosario the maid on 'Will & Grace,' dies at 83 (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/obituaries/shelley-morrison-rosario-maid-will-grace-dies-83-n1093931?cid=par-xfinity_20191202). :(

Well, I need to get some sleep. It was a long weekend, and it's always weird coming back to work after that much time off.
Have a good day, all!
-
You can make excisions.
-
Sorry to hear about Shelly - she gave me my career, which is why There's Mel, There's Woody, and There's You is dedicated to her. She was very touched when she found out and we had a nice e-mail volley back then. A nice, long life.
-
Good morning, all!
-
They are predicting bad snow, so I must make my bank runs as soon as I've cleaned up the cats priorities and made the bed.
-
I have no plans today except for a couple of phone calls, one to Patrick Brady who arranged Sally Mayes' Comden & Green recording and Rebecca Luker's Cole Porter recording for BK. I haven't seen him in years and I am very happy he contacted me.
-
DR TCB, even if you don't end up playing your old chum Pontius, it's fantastic to be asked.
-
On Saturday I planned to vacuum, on Sunday I decided I was too lazy and infirm to accomplish it. Let's see if I succeed today.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Up and tired.
-
It’s cold this morning. The blankets are very inviting.
-
Good morning to all

Drinking a cup of coffee in the recliner trying to convince my body it really is morning and time to wake up for work

TCB do you like the play?

Good morning, all.

Drinking a cup of coffee in the recliner trying to convince my body it really is morning and time to wake up for work
That's where I am, DR Vixmom: on my second cuppa, trying to get the energy to make the bed and run my errands.
-
Rehearsal vibes for MR BK & Co.

I liked DR JANE's sideways photos....very nice.
-
Great article about DR GINNY's niece!
-
Moving on.....

Page Two.

DR Jrand69, how is your property selling voodoo working these days? I've got to sell this white elephant soon!
-
Sitting here in suspense over what the day will bring. In the first 24 hours of this we accumulated less than an inch of ... stuff. Unfortunately, that inch was a mix of every kind of precip known to Man, so it’s white out there and not solid, but certainly icy. And I can’t get a good reading of what to expect through the day. It could truly be anything from nothing to three inches. That 8 to 12 ain’t happening, but even a little bit could be bad news depending on the timing. If we miss tonight, I’ll have me doubts as to whether we can officially open on Friday.
-
Well, now it’s snowing.for real. Maybe we’ll get three feet.
-
DR George thanks for "cool" comment.
-
I liked DR JANE's sideways photos....very nice.
Thank you.
-
DR Chas I sympathize with your weather related stress.
-
DR ELMORE I'm not sure what is blocking it....but I shall continue to work.

My CREATURE review has been submitted.

...and the time clock is ticking.

Monday morning greetings! December is off to a festive start for me, because 2 of my 3 ladies' groups have luncheons today and tomorrow. Today's is being held at the Middletown Art Center (formerly AIM, DR Elmore).
-
Errands run and I am home! I need more coffee!

TOD:
In Greece, the Lay’s Oregano Chips are insanely good.
I love corn chips with guac and salsa. Most every place in town makes the chips.
Takis are great. They’re kinda like Cheetos, except the del Fuego flavor is hotter (and better) than anything made north of the border
-
Lay’s Dill Pickle Chips
Utz Blue Corn Tortilla Chips
Kettle (brand) Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper Potato Chips
Stew Leonard’s Rosemary Chips (and their regular ones), which you can watch being made if you’re in there at the right time. These are incredible.
Other “boutique” or “kettle” varieties of the above are usually okay.
I don’t go for barbecue or nacho cheese (or other cheese) flavors. I used to, but they all seem cloying or cheaply flavored to me these days.
Any freshly made tortilla chips. Sometimes I get lucky and find a bag of something that actually has the flavor and texture of “restaurant” ones, but as often as not, the very next bag isn’t as good. But I would go into a restaurant or bar just to enjoy chips that I know will be fresh and delicious.

I just had a lovely talk with Patrick Brady, who sends his regards, BK.
He's now teaching in a musical theatre program in Virginia, and I'm going to help him out with a project.
-
I love cheddar or sour cream & onion potato chips, corn chips and salsa.

LOL I do not think of Cheetos as hot. Probably because I would never heat the hot ones.

I could live on GREAT tortilla chips with GREAT salsa(s) and GREAT guacamole.

That's pretty cool, Larry! I first heard of him on the original cast recording of Closer Than Ever. I still love that recording...and I just realized that it was released almost 30 years ago! :o

I really like those Salt & Pepper Kettle chips!

I don't remember many dreams these days, but last night I had a strange one about my late friend Alan Freeman. In the dream I was still working at the Miami University library in Oxford, Ohio, but Alan's parents' home was not in West Middletown, but just down the hill from the library. I wandered about the library stacks, and I was in sections of the library only accessible to staff; I was looking for an orchestra score. When I left the library, I got to Alan's house by sitting on the top of the hill and sliding on my butt to his yard. His mother was out, and his dad was doing something like trying to rid the yard of gophers. The only other thing I remember now is Alan taking me into a room that had two pianos.
-
Good afternoon.
-
Kerry's mixer has been mixing like crazy today. I'm going to have to take a break; my back is killing me.

I like cheddar/sour cream chips....especially Lay's, but the Great Value chips are about the same.
I like the original Fritos......corn chips with salsa, especially the cheese salsa.
And though it's not chips, I also like the traditional ChexMix.....

DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates you often draw on sounds and combinations from your childhood and youth in your work and if it delights the youngster in yourself you are sure it will fit the bill.
You are also on the brink of fulfilling a lifelong goal that may be made possible by a chance conversation with someone who knows someone.

DR GINNY are you watching that MAKING IT show? It's all about crafting. I think it's on tonight if you haven't seen it.....I think it's on NBC, but I'm not certain....9 p.m. I think.

As soon as that lifelong goal comes through, you'll get more than $35.00!

Fancy Feast Sliced chicken feast was a dud: only Thatch touched it. Barely.
I'm taking a bath and then I will give the three little kittens their nightly treat.
-
Back from picking up one package, banking, then a chili, cheese, and onion hot dog and some fries at Jerry's Deli. Friend Charlie Brill was there - I only see he and his wife Mitzi McCall at restaurants. And I got the lowdown on the drama that I witnessed last week at Jerry's - apparently a $35,000 watch was involved and both seller and buyer (the guy who grabbed and ran to a waiting SUV outside, were shady.
-
My bath was nice and relaxing, and the cats got their treat just now. I'm convinced that Thatch is not really a cat but an angel: he's not aggressive or inquisitive like Annabelle or Stella. He's curious but not really obsessed like Stella or Annabelle can be. He's very sweet and good-tempered, always a gentleman. He hates to be held and yet he follows me like a puppy/ If I lie down he curls up next to me. When he sleeps nightly on my bed, he works his way closer to me as the night goes on. When I get up to use the bathroom he follows me and walks me back to the bed.

It is sweet of Thatch. Eons ago a friend and I went to visit a friend who lived two short blocks away. This was on the Marina Peninsula, which is now part of Marina del Rey and densely built up. Back then there was a lot of open space and few cars. We were at the friend's house, chatting away, when we heard meowing. My cat had followed us over there. That was the only time it happened, but I was so touched by my cat's longing to be with us.

I like Ruffles with Ridges thick cut potato chips
-
And here's the chip making scene at Stew Leonard's.
These look good, like my favorite fresh made potato chips.

Awww, sweet Thatch.

TOD:
I have no interest in potato chips, even the freshly-made ones I've tried, but I do like fresh corn chips. I normally bypass the bagged variety, but a few years ago I tried the blue corn chips by Food Should Taste Good and promptly became addicted. I'm over my addiction now, but still like the fresh ones. And, yes, with guac or salsa.

Aww. I have had cats that walked with me or followed me around the house.

I am ready for a nap. Have I gone into permanent relaxation mode?

Mega property-sale vibes to DR Elmore.

TTFN.

Listening to music and finding it hard to believe that my day off is almost over.

I don't buy potato chips very often anymore. I get small bags of these chips for flying as they help settle my stomach if I get air sick. Then if I don't need them I have a special treat once I am home :)

Those chips have traveled the world & back home.
-
Once in awhile, not when my stomach needs settling, I treat myself to these.

I am not a big fan of corn tortilla chips in a bag. I like Garden of Eatin' Blue Corn Tortilla Chips, plus they are healthier.
-
I very much like thick, fresh homemade tortilla chips. They are even better with good guacamole.
-
I can go months without ever having a potato chip. I might buy them once a year
-
But if I am placed in a room with a bowl of chips and onion dip made with sour cream and Lipton onion soup mix....well I lose all sense of propriety and manners and will promptly consume the lot
-
In June we went to a party & for the first time in years & years this was served. I am pretty sure I ate more of it than anyone else. It was soooo good.

Back — from a truncated rehearsal because the snow is coming down in force now. Which it’s probably going to be doing all night. Then we’ll clean it up tomorrow and life should be calm for a few days. But I’m glad the band (just piano-bass-drums) is set up and we ran the trickiest numbers. It’ll be fine by Friday.
-
Guess what I’m eating.
-
It’s not one of my above mentioned favorites, but, you know, you can’t always get what you want.
-
Or so I’ve heard.
-
Good evening!
-
DR Kate and I are watching episodes from Season 2 of “Alfred Hitchcock Presents.”
-
It snowed today, but not much - maybe 2 inches.

Oh, darn, I forgot that was starting tonight! I watched the first season, but tonight was involved in my own crafty project - untangling 230 yards of yarn. Finally got it all rewound and started knitting a potato chip scarf, which has nothing to do with the chips in today’s TOD.
-
My luncheon today was fun. Our entertainment was a flute quintet called the Trill Seekers.
-
I love our local group, Hat City Flutes.

Finished with my viewing and with my viewing I'm finished.

Catching up on Poldark tonight. Saw the first 2.5 episodes of the last season. It’s not my favorite. But it follows the novels. I think the original books just sort of ran out of steam.

One more ...

Five!

Good night, all.

I wondered if it still followed the novels. I will be curious if the last episode follows the last book.

Well, I got some new clippers today.
-
Don't hate me...I didn't get a Wahl. ::)
-
I was at Best Buy and I looked at the clippers that they had.
-
They had, and I got, this: Braun BT3040 Beard Trimmer for Men (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M8MR9E2/).
-
Of course, I didn't read any reviews before I bought it, but I really liked that it had only two depth guides, and they were adjustable.
-
Most of the Wahl clippers had a bunch of different guides, one for each depth.
-
That's kind of annoying.
-
My previous clippers had one guide and four depth settings.
-
This has two guides and 10 depth settings, for a combined total of "39 precision length settings."
-
It has built-in rechargeable batteries, and a detachable power cord.
-
And one feature is that it's "fully washable for easy cleaning under running water."
-
...of course, not while still plugged in. ;)
-
I opened it and was checking it out, and I do like the guides and how they're adjusted.
-
There's a dial on the front and it adjusts the depths very easily.
-
I'll have to test it to decide which setting is best for me.
-
I'll start with a longer setting, then go from there.
-
It came with a bit of a charge, so I was able to see how that works.
-
It says that it can be charged up to run for an hour.
-
I don't expect to shave for an hour without stopping, but you never know.
-
;)
-
Hopefully, the bad reviews on Amazon won't be true for mine.
-
And now...
-
PAGE SIX BRAUN RAZOR DANCE!!
-
AND it comes with a free Gillette (manual) razor!
-
The bad news is that I'm coming down with a cold. :o
-
It's too late for Sambucol, so I got some Dimetapp at Costco.
-
That usually helps suppress the symptoms, but hopefully I started it soon enough for it to work effectively.
