DR Danise - Can you get a second opinion?  -Of course, the second opinion may end up concurring with your first opinion, but at least you'd have another piece of counsel.  In the meantime...

Remember to take it easy.  And keep Healing.  You're definitely on that proverbial Road to Recovery.  Unfortunately, sometimes the speed limits are not posted.  ;)

Anyone know the group Weather Report?

Weather Report was a wonderful supergroup of former Miles/Cannonball alumni (among others) featuring, in its first incarnation, Josef Zawinul (who sadly passed way too young a month or two ago), Wayne Shorter,  and Sergio Mendes' former percussionist Dom um Romao (first husband of Flora Purim, before she hooked up with another percussionist, Airto, who also played with the group).  BK, I would say you may not like the first two or three Weather Report albums, as they are a bit on the spare, non-melodic side, but their later albums, starting with "Sweetnighter," have some really gorgeous stuff on them.

Re:  Don Quixote:  kind of a tangential segue here, but I was listening to the new CD reissue of the Brass Ring's Dis-Advantages of You, and noticed that that Benson & Hedges jingle was written by Mitch Leigh.  I knew of some of his other jingles, but either didn't know or had forgotten about this one.

DR JMK - you are aware, I assume, that in your DVD review of GIRL NEXT DOOR....you name Cara Williams as Cora Williams......

My copy of GIRL NEXT DOOR arrived today and I look forward to watching it this afternoon.  Cara is a favorite of mine....and I love the photo of her and Dennis Day on the insert!  Cara is wearing a beautiful shadow bodice dress in a style that Lucille Ball later wore to great advantage as well.  My guess is .... let me check ... costume design by Travilla....hmmmm....thought that Ball got her dress from Edward Stevenson.....interesting.

Of the ones I did, there was one that would not move and that is the one I posted.

I have problems with the ones from Yahoo IM.

Well I need to get a few things done before I amble off to do errands and then work. I will try and stop by before I leave.

If it is not too busy at work tonight, I will say hello.

Not that Asa isn't a cutie himself.  ;)

*And as for his son, Carpenter...

Asa sure is a cutie.  Didn't get to meet Carpenter, but he must be the little cutie, too.

I know nothing about Weather Report, but I got a Jaco Pastorius CD and really liked it (after the first track), so I picked up a Weather Report CD called Night Passage because the nicest track on the Pastorius album is on Night Passage and I thought I'd give it a whirl.  Is that one of their later albums?

Appreciated by Cara Williams, Cora Witherspoon, and me.  ;D

Wasn't that a hit record by Walter Brennan?

I liked Cara Williams on PETE AND GLADYS.

Loved her in that!  And also check out "Never Steal Anything Small" with James Cagney and "The Man From the Diner's Club" with Mr Danny Kaye.  ;D

A couple of her appearances on "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" are good, too.

I think she now sells real estate in Beverly Hills and does interior decoration.  ;D

Elmore, I do..

I feel like BK handing out a sparkling prize and I wish I had great consolation prizes for you and DR JRand57!

DR Ginny, who lets no moss grow under her, has already confirmed that she can use them.  Since she and Richard are always such good hosts when I go back to visit  I'm haapy that I can send something to them.

On a cautionary note to all DRs, when I bought my new printer from HP, I gave them my old model and they recommended the upgrade I purchased.  I was too naive to ask about ink cartridges and foolishly assumed the old ones would be compatible with the new printer.  If any DRs are thinking about a new printer, i'd suggest you keep your ink supply low.

And Maureen O'Hara's old hair.

Well, that, too.  But I was too much of a gentleman to mention it.

The cartridges were for the printer that was given to me and not hooked up yet or anything....so I was just being greedy anyway.   8)

I got a five-disc set of Arthur Fiedler Boston Pops CDs with many never before released tracks - they're a good deal of fun.  Lots of B'way and Hollywood stuff, including suites from The Fantasticks and Company.

I love Arthur Fiedler! An under-rated and wonderful conductor of the old school with a contemporary outlook on publicity.  Leroy Anderson owed his career to Fiedler.  I want this set.  What's it called?

Movies:when we were children, going to matinees, we always "stayed to see it twice"It was only post 8th grade, with the arrival of multi-screens that it became one viewing and out. Recent films on DVD that I haven't tired of watching are GOSFORD PARK< GALAXY QUEST<ROOM WITH A VIEW & LA CONFIDENTIAL.The first stage show I saw more than once was HER FIRST ROMAN, during the Boston tryout in the summer of '68.This was because , for the 1st time, I had wheels, cash and there was a show in Boston all at the same time. After a 5 year vow of poverty, the Nat'l Co of ACL hit Detroit;I became addicted all over again-saw it 3 times, 1 x in chicago, 1 x in Boston and probably 4 x in NYC. CHICAGO  I caught in NYC in AUG 77, in City of Chicago in winter of '78, and the new version 4 different tours in Detroit. Caught FULL MONTY(replacement cast) x 2 in NYC, and 3 X in DET.If I lived in NYC< I'd be a theater addict and totally broke, so perhaps it's best I'm still in Ann Arbor.
