Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the trouble with Schumann, and now it is time for you to post until the troubled cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RISIBLE!
-
Well, I'm off to bed...and it'll be my bed, not my parents' couch! Thanks for all the vibes and good wishes for my mom! I'll be checking in with her more often than usual. :)
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept well. I remember fragments of two dreams: I was walking to 72nd Street with John McGlinnm then U had an impossible time trying to get a taxi in the rain. In the other I asked my father to finish some construction work in my bedroom, and a couple of my cousins were in the dream as well. I think there was a cat, too.
-
I don't know if I'm up to spending the day taking the bathroom apart and thoroughly cleaning it. I'm waffling about it.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I had the weirdest night. Woke up at 3:30, adjusted the a/c, visited the necessary, and proceeded to toss and turn for nearly two hours while occasionally falling into a kind of half sleep. One of those half sleeps (maybe it was a full sleep) produced a bizarre dream, of which I only remember getting ready to accompany a singer in something that made no sense at all. There were other things later once I got to sleep again, and those are gone with the wind. Oy! So now I'm up, and good riddance to the whole damned thing.
-
I think a nap later might be nice.
-
And now, for my Monday morning surprise, I find that the federal tax withholding amount in my monthly pension deposit just increased by a noticeable amount. There's not a word of explanation anywhere, and I know I didn't change anything. I'll have to call the company that pays these later and find out what's up with that.
-
The Gardiner Schumann approach sounds interesting. I suspect that any of those old boys sound leaner and attain more clarity when played by an orchestra of proper period size. As I recall, we did it with Beethoven a few times.
-
Good morning, all.
-
First day back at work.
-
I have been logged off for updates.
-
How do you define child? Under 18? Under 12?
-
I used to be more easily RISIBLE than I am now at my age.
-
Glad to hear that DR GEORGE's mother is home.
Glad to hear that THE IMPORTANT ENVELOPE has arrived.

We do TWO "workshops" for kids every year.
In June we have SHAKESPEARED! wherein in middle school students to a scaled down production of a play and then the high school kids to a rock/modern version of the same play..... It last two weeks.....with a performance on the last Saturday.
In July we do a Children's Theatre Workshop wherein the group does original plays written by CHILDREN - it lasts one week.
It's always great fun for all involved and is very popular. And most of the folks who come to see their little darlings NEVER attend any other performance at the Playhouse - but they are generous in their suggestions at how we can do everything BETTER..... And heaven forbid ANY of them ever volunteer to help make the workshops go easier.

T.O.D.
Gigi Perreau.
She's a long time friend.

I also like several of "The Little Rascals".
Years ago, I interviewed a couple of them (.e.e Darla Hood, Stymie Beard) for my monthly column in CORONET magazine.
That column and others are in my book, HOLLYWOOD SNAPSHOTS: The Forgotten Interviews.

Monday morning greetings! I'm all ready for my afternoon FaceTime with Rebecca and my evening AAUW board meeting on Zoom.
-
Full moon (and empty arms) today:
There’s a lot of exciting energy in the air as the full moon rises in social Aquarius and mingles with the outgoing, attention-seeking Leo sun. Through the oppositional duality of this cosmic combination, we begin to further understand the relationship between only helping out ourselves versus being a humanitarian by helping others.
No matter how you decide to spend your day, most of the time you’ll probably find yourself in a party state of mind. Even if you can’t actually attend any ragers now, the general vibe says to relax and have a good time. This progressive lunation reminds us that there’s something bigger than just ourselves going on in the universe, and we’re all lucky to be invited to join in that universal connection!
-
DR DRUXY I just saw Gigi in The Cool and the Crazy! I also liked her in The Betty Hutton Show when I was little. She was always so sincere.
I also just watched Steve Kanaly in BIG WEDNESDAY last night.....interesting movie.

How do you define child? Under 18? Under 12?
It depends if it is a legal age, maturity level, or if in general than under 13. How are you using it?

A bit of trivia. I graduated high school with the Yale Professor of Epidemiology that is all over the news. :-\ I also went to Jr. High with him. I didn't really know him. It was Keith who remembered his name and recognized him.

Freddie Bartholomew

Roddy McDowall

Thank you, BK and DRs Elmore and JRand!

Forty-five minutes at the bank - longest line ever and the asshole Israeli in back of me in line sneezed the minute he got there (I think he had his mask up at that point), and then for most of the time in line his mask was hanging below his chin. I don't really care that much, but INSIDE his mask was also off and not one bank person said anything to him.
-
And now for some food, I think.
-
The good news is they've opened the Studio City branch again, so I'll be going back there.
-
Had a little low-calorie cube steak and a very small baked potato with butter. Very good.
-
Best news all day!

Did you not care because he was 6 feet away?
We are very lucky here to have a quiet bank, and everyone wears a mask and there is hand sanitizer to use.
-

Good.
-
Wow. Our banks and stores are strict about masks. Of course I’m not out often enough to have seen any conflicts. I’m sure there have been some. But the populace is well behaved here.
-
I didn't care - he sneezed prior to being not six feet away, which he never was. I had MY mask on which is why I didn't care. He was an asshole but I was just surprised that no one on line told him to put it on and even more surprised that no one in the bank told him, because he should have been thrown out. I tried to catch the eye of one of the officers there, to no avail.
-
Darn. He should have been told to put his mask on. Were you wearing an N95 mask? If not then you weren't completely protected. Sadly employees are a bit afraid to request people wear masks.
-
Well, it's time for me to leave work. I need to get some cat food, so I'm off to Costco and maybe Fred Meyer.
Be back later. But before I go...
-
PAGE THREE DANCE!!
-
Page Three.
I am enjoying reading the lists of favorite child stars....
-
Lots of hockey games now.
They are doing a round robin in Toronto with all of the NHL teams to decide who plays for the Stanley Cup. It is very interesting.
No audience, of course......
-
Today is Rita Hayworth day on TCM so we are getting Gilda right now.
DR JANE - All That Heaven Allows was included yesterday, so it's on TCM OnDEMAND if you have that on your service.
I may watch ICE STATION ZEBRA again.....I really like that movie and Rock Hudson's performance in it. And the music, of course.
-
I'm looking at the movies tomorrow and I can't figure out whose DAY it is.......

Congratulations on hitting the decade mark.
-
It was a very, very busy day for my first day back.
-
Only 200 emails go through, but more than average wanted something.
-
It was 4 p.m. before I got through all of them.
-
Lunch could prove to be a small problem.
-
Mom likes to eat at 12 a.m., which is 11 a.m. work time, and a lot of people like to schedule meetings then.
-
We watched a little of Rita on TCM today. I saw the end of Down to Earth, which was kinda hard to explain to Mom, who came in about 15 minutes before it was over.
-
After that was Cover Girl. What a cast, and what a winner of a song in Long Ago and Far Away.
-

Tree branches were breaking

A quick torrent of rain
-
And then it was gone

Hello, George.
-
It was enough for tonight.
-
Hi, Jane.
-
A bit of trivia. I graduated high school with the Yale Professor of Epidemiology that is all over the news. :-\ I also went to Jr. High with him. I didn't really know him. It was Keith who remembered his name and recognized him.
Freddie Bartholomew
You went to school with Freddie Bartholomew??
Ha, ha.
-
I didn’t eat dinner.
-
Page five.
-
Actually, I didn’t eat all day.
-
Actually, I didn’t eat all day.
Why not? Did you just forget??
-
I did get a load of laundry done.
-
I washed all of my jeans.
-
Yeah, I guess I did forget.
-
I did have some cheese.
-
I did have some cheese.
Cheese is good.
-
What kind?
-
Anything fancy?
-
What kind?
Cheddar
-
Or something standard like cheddar?
-
What kind?
Cheddar
Cheddar is good.
-
I don’t really like fancy cheeses.
-
There was always someone at your table on a cruise ship that would order the cheese and fruit platter, rather than the seven-layer chocolate truffle cake.
-
It always came with several cheeses nobody wanted to try.
-
And they always tried to pass it off to the rest of us
-
I don’t really like fancy cheeses.
I don't either.
-
There was always someone at your table on a cruise ship that would order the cheese and fruit platter, rather than the seven-layer chocolate truffle cake.
How rude! ;)
-
And they always tried to pass it off to the rest of us
Someone would order the cheese and fruit platter and not eat much of the cheese?
-
That's weird. ::)
-
And they always tried to pass it off to the rest of us
Someone would order the cheese and fruit platter and not eat much of the cheese?
They were just showing off how hi-toned they were.
-
That's weird. ::)
That is because they really wanted the seven-layer chocolate truffle cake.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
I hope you remember to eat tomorrow.
-
So this weekend, I bought a new wallet at WinCo.
-
It totally was an impulse purchase.
-
I didn't need a new wallet, but this one had more slots for cards, and my current wallet didn't have enough.
-
New notes are up.

I only got my current wallet earlier this year, but I have two many cards...mostly store rewards cards, not credit or debit cards.
