BETTER, BRIGHTER, AND BEGUILING

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were better and brighter and beguiling, and now it is time for you to post until the bewitched, bothered, and bewildered cows come home.

Wednesday morning greetings!  My Mother and I have plans to do errands together, but the predicted thunderstorms may interfere.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I really hope that the rain and snow(!) today does not interfere with my travel plans. -Although, I'm also hoping that it all looks pretty as I head north along the Hudson, and the west along the southern edge of the Great Lakes.

Good morning, all!  I slept late with lots of weird dreams, the last one had me working on a tv comedy show and the musical section I was working on, which dealt with a flute player driving a conductor mad and their duel, was suggested by our DR FJL who put in a guest appearance in this dream.

LOL, DR cillaliz! I did mean "defender" not "defendent"! Chase has been a huge supporter of the show and Julie Taymor's rights in it since its travails began.

DR vixmom, God alone knows the next chapter in the Toyland saga; I am not eager to go back, much as I lke the work. I've been acting as the project supervisor on my original rate as a proofreader and I deserve 3 times the pay.  The response to my email denied or overlooked too many of my charges, and I will not go back to that chaos without some structure.

Today, lunch with my friend Joseph Rubin, and the rest of the day will be spent on the Herbert work here. I need to make a trip to Lincoln Center rhis morning to pick up some meds and purchase my train tickets to the Library of Congress on Friday.

DR vixmom - I survived yesterday's orchestra rehearsal. Some of the music I played - and sightread - quite well.  Some of it, well... I just didn't bother playing. ;) Thankfully, none of the piano parts were that exposed, so... And the conductor and orchestra manager were very understanding too.

Whew!

DR elmore - When you book your Amtrak tickets, do you use "Julie" on their automated phone system? "Julie" can come in quite handy especially in regard to securing a cheaper fare. You can book with "Julie", and not have to pay for the ticket until later. -You also insure a space for you during peak travel periods. 1-800-USA-RAIL (872-7245)

Oh...

DR vixmom - I did not get any hot chocolate yesterday. Instead, I had one of those amazing Nutter Butter cookies from Bouchon Bakery. -And the cookie was "treated" to me by a student I've played for at SETCs who is in town this week for Spring Break. :)

And... In other news...

I'm looking for another apartment. Again. The place I was going to sublease fell-through yesterday morning. It may "work out" again towards the end of the week, but, in the meantime, I've started looking for some other options. Thankfully, everything is in storage, so it's not like I'd have to deal with rushing to get all of my stuff somewhere next week once I'm back from Chicago. -And I do have two more good leads on new places; one of which happens to be three blocks from my old place. ::)

And now I need to go pack my bag(s) for my trip to Chicago. I was hoping just to take my smaller luggage, but with the colder weather forecast for this weekend, well... Sweaters are bulky.

Laters...

Have fun in Chicago, Jose. I was there in March once, and it snowed. We had left from Arizona without knowing it was going to snow there. What a surprise!

Poor Liz Taylor!

I've looked at Amtrak tickets and schedules in line, but I won't book it till I hear from my frend Loras at the LoC. It would be nice to have dinner with him before I return to Union Station, if his schedule is open.

I will book later today or tomorrow.

Aw, it is sad about Liz Taylor passing away, especially because she had been so ill and bed-ridden these past few years.  But what a life she had!  And since the 80s, she used her celebrity to help so many.  She was quite a lady.
