Well, you've read the notes, the notes were gibberish, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently studying gibberish.

Hmm...dreams....probably the strangest dreams I had, or used to have, were ones where the Night of the Living Dead zombies were chasing me and my friends/relatives/aquaintences. I used to have this scenario as a dream on a semi-regular basis, but not for about 10 years now.

My other stranges dreams are of being back in high school because I find out I did not really graduate.

One of my best recent dream involved my former across the street neighbor Rod. However, I don't think this is the place to discuss it.

DR MBarnum, what is the name of that handsome French actor that stars in OSS 117?

TOD: I rarely dream. But I just had a disturbing dream that is the reason why I have been awake for a couple of hours now.

This may sound nuts, but I think that, in dreams, we are sometimes "visited" by people who are gone.

From time-to-time, I've had those  kinds of visitations from deceased family members or friends.

For example, 3-4 years ago, an actor friend died.  A few months later, I had a couple of very vivid dreams about him.  It was like he was trying to tell me something.

I spoke to his daughter, told her about the dreams, and told her that I thought her father was trying to tell me that he was "okay".

After that, the dreams stopped.

Strange, I know.  But, it happened.

DR SINGDAW the pride of French Intelligence is played by Jean Dujardin who began by playing comedy roles on French television and is now one of that country's top box office stars.  Here he is demonstrating his pistol technique to the Egyptian princess in OSS 117.  Oh those French are subtle.....    ;D

I lked THE WRESTLER.....haven't gotten to see SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE yet, will probably wait for the DVD....but Rourke and Tomei were both so very good....didn't really care much for the actress playing the daughter....but it may be because her character was such a one note b---h.

Northern California Creature Feature host Bob Wilkins has passed away.   Not sure if any DR ever watched his program....

TOD

Shortly after I found the pictures of the group of us having breakfast in Studio City the first weekend of the LA Premiere of The Brain From Planet X. I had a couple of dreams involving several of the participants. One wacky. One embarrassing (to me) what the contents of the dream was.

Another dream was so weird that after I woke up I wrote down and it eventually became a short story. But the people in the dream were people I never seen before and had no idea where my brain created them or the plot of the dream

We discussed dreams here once long ago, and someone kindly provided the term for the state where you are semi-aware that you are dreaming, and you can actually influence how you yourself are acting in the dream.  I found that fascinating and had intended to do some further research, but can't remember now the terminology for it.    :P

I can rarely remember my dreams.  The dreams that I do seem to remember better are the ones that occur when I've gotten up early in the morning, gone back to bed, and have dreamed in the short window just before awakening.

Thanks, DR JRand58, but the term given - I think by you! - was more specific.  It involved the state of not just dreaming and observing, but actually being able to affect how the dream played out - deciding to move here, or do this or that, and having the dream reflect those decisions.

We could celebrate today's topic title by typing all of our posts in gibberish.

I wonder if anyone would even notice the difference...

DR singdaw, I think the term you're looking for is lucid dreaming.  I've been able to do this myself only once or twice, but not to any real interesting effect that I recall.
