Another thing I do when I feel down is count the things that are going right. Not necessarily counting my blessings, but take this weekend for instance. I made it to the doctor soon enough to prevent getting pneumonia,  I started wearing my Earth shoes and the pain in my feet went away,  despite the trauma I went through, I called a friend and she helped me get my cat to the vet who is now recovering nicely, my parents came to visit and we really enjoyed each other, the trial is going really well despite the fact I didn't think it could.

Then there's always Judy Garland

Forget your troubles c'mon get happy,
you better chase all your cares away.
Shout hallejulah c'mon get happy
get ready for the judgement day.

the sun is shinin c'mon get happy,
the lord is waitin to take your hand.
shout hallejulah c'mon get happy,
we're going to the promise land

We're headin across the river to
wash your sins away in the tide.
it's all so peaceful on the other side.

Forget your troubles c'mon get happy,
you better chase all your cares away.
shout hallejulah c'mon get happy,
get ready for the judgement day.

Forget your troubles c'mon get happy
chase ya cares away.
hallelu get happy,
before the judgement day.

The sun is shinin c'mon get happy,
the lord is waitin to take your hand.
shout hallejulah c'mon get happy,
we're gunna be goin to the promise land.

were headin cross the river,
wash you're sins away in the tide.
it's quiet and peaceful on the other side.

forget your troubles get happy,
your cares fly away.
shout hallejulah get happy get ready for your judgement day.

c'mon get happy,
chase your cares away.
shout hallejulah cmon get happy,
get ready for the judgment day

The sun is shining c'mon get happy,
lord is waiting to take your hand.
hallejulah c'mon get happy,
we're going to the promise land.

headin 'cross the river,
throw your sins away in the tide.
it's all so peaceful on the other side-

shout hallelujah c'mon get happy,
ya better chase all your cares away.
shout hallejulah c'mon get happy,
get ready-get ready-get ready,
for the judgment day.

Or the Partridge Family if you prefer
Artist: ("C'mon Get Happy" by Wes Farrell and Danny Janssen) Lyrics
Song: The Partridge Family Lyrics

Hello, world, here the song that we're singin'
C'mon get happy!
A whole lot of lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
We'll make you happy!

We had a dream, we'd go travelin' together,
We'd spread a little lovin' then we'd keep movin' on.
Somethin' always happens whenever we're together
We get a happy feelin' when we're singing a song.

Trav'lin' along there's a song that we're singin'
C'mon get happy!
A Whole lot of lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
We'll make you happy!
We'll make you happy!
We'll make you happy!

On the TOD, working out can be helpful, endorphins and all that.  Hugging my cats also helps a great deal.  Talking with someone who just listens and does not try to fix things.  And when all else fails, a glass of red wine.

I guess what I'm trying to say in 50 posts or less is that I try to make myself laugh. If I can start laughing...I feel better

I wish that I spoke cat, so that I could just explain to them what exactly was going on and avoid any unpleasantries.

Better go work on the trial for tomorrow. Think I'll get some ice cream first.  I don't seem to eat when I have trials. There is too much to do in the short breaks we get to think about food.  I had some chicken glop for dinner, but ice cream will really tide me over.  Good way to start my diet.

We had a cat growing up that my mom would have to sedate in order to take her to the vet.  After a while, she decided it just wasn't worth it and stopped taking her for checkups and shots.  The cat lived to be 20 just out of spite.

And that is why I love cats.

That would be very helpful.  I think it would freak me out if they spoke English. I'd rather learn cat.

LOL! Nilla is only 5 1/2, but all his internal functioning tests that were off kilter last time he had teeth removed are all normal now. He'll be a toothless wonder, but will undoubtedly grow to be an old man.  Like the human old men who run around without their false teeth!

Oh, they had a huge immigration policy protest that ended at the federal building today. I guess it was at least 15 blocks long. But, they had to stop when a train came through, so they didn't get to the fed bldg until we were back in trial.  I didn't get to see any of it. I actually have to watch the news tonight to see what happened outside the building I was in all day

Our march is the only thing on the news tonight. I guess nothing else happened in town today. A good thing, I guess.

Well, April in Paris has been lousy so far!
Cold and rainy; feels more like autumn (in New York!) and I have a sore throat...

Sounds like our April in Paris.  I hope your throat feels better today.

The food is all set for tomorrow morning when I host my book discussion group.  I have a variety of cheese, crackers, fruit, toffee covered macadamia nuts and Easter sugar cookies.  I had every intention of baking more than just the cookies (I like variety) when the contractor turned off the water & electricity.  It turns out I don’t need more goodies since four of our twelve members can’t make it, three of whom waited until today to inform me-very annoying.

Now I must finish re-reading the book, Peace Like a River, so I am prepared to lead the discussion tomorrow.

‘night.
