Well, you've read the notes, the notes were colorful, and now it is time for you to post until the colorful cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EMPYREAL!
-
Bruce, why don't you play Banjo, you've done it before?
-
Marie Osmond is a guest on Stephen Colbert's show right now.
-
Hi, George, what's the haps? I'm still having trouble with my computer so if I disappear, you'll know why.

An unusual fit, but they carried it off well.
-
Hello, jan.
-
Hi, jan.
-
BK, a question a day early...are you still considering releasing the Outside the Box episodes on Blu-ray?
-
Hi, Tom, how you doin'?
-
Hi, George, what's the haps? I'm still having trouble with my computer so if I disappear, you'll know why.
The play that I was in ended Sunday after only one day of performances...as was the schedule. It's coming back for one more day in October, so I'll get to do it again. That'll be fun.
-
i'd like to see that.
-
Hi, Tom, how you doin'?
I am doing okay. However, Nick doesn’t seem to be doing that well.
-
jan, wouldn't want to direct and act in this. Too much work :)
-
Bruce, you're getting lazy in your old age. ;)
-
jan, wouldn't want to direct and act in this. Too much work :)
But i’ll bet you were a great Banjo!
-
Tom, what's wrong with Nicky?
-

Oh, no!
-
Night, y'all.
-
Good night, jan.

Tom, what's wrong with Nicky?
Hi, Tom, how you doin'?
I am doing okay. However, Nick doesn’t seem to be doing that well.
Oh, no!
Oh, just old age, I hope. He sleeps most of the time and his appetite isn’t what it used to be.

Wait a minute, I think I just described myself!

:))
-
I'm off to bed now.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!

The effects of the therapy yesterday hit me around 9:00 last night. Everything from my lower back to my toes aches today. I slept rather well from 10:00 to 1:30 or so; then everything really ached, and I took a Tizanidine. Poor Thatch bears the brunt of my restlessness but stays beside me.

T.O.D.
Our family was not one of the first to get a TV in our neighborhood (Seattle). As I recall, we got ours in the early 1950s, and there was only one local TV station.
The first program I watched was THE LONE RANGER with Clayton Moore, who (years later) became my neighbor in Calabasas, CA.
The other biggie was Milton Berle.
Our family was certainly not the first to get color either.
-
I will go in to City Center. I'd like to get 3-4 hours in.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning to all
-
We got our first TV, a Muntz, when I was a year old or maybe slightly later. So, around 1951. There might still be a snapshot that shows it. I'm not sure how long that one lasted, but my next solid memory of one is around 1960. That one was still black & white but it was our first with a remote control. I believe we had that till I left for school in 1967, and they finally got their first color one around 1970. We were definitely latecomers on the color. And as much as everyone was enjoying having color, I remember thinking even then that the color itself left a LOT to be desired, which could have been as much the fault of the owners as the system itself then.
-
My grandparents got a color television set before we did. Are used to go to their home on Friday night stay over and watch Saturday morning cartoons in color. And then I go home around noon time. I did this for years before We got a color TV at home.
-
I saw my first TV around 1949-50 while we still lived with my grandmother on Tenth Avenue. I remember all of us sitting in a darkened room watching this small, glowing screen. When we moved to Goldman Avenue around 1950-51, my earliest memories of television - besides Milton Berle, Ed Wynn, and Kukla, Fran & Ollie - are the sounds of my grandmother watching late night wrestling matches and the Gillette commercial music, which carried into my bedroom.
-
My parents did not get a color TV until the late autumn of 1965. I first saw it when I was home for Christmas break from my sophomore year.
-
I need to finish dressing, make the bed, and clean the dishes and the litter. I'd like to leave around 9:30.
-
There’s no question I’ve forgotten more of our childhood shows than I remember, but: Romper Room, Captain Kangaroo, Howdy Doody, and Mickey Mouse Club later on. But there were local (Columbus) shows, too, and I should research that.
Edit: Ding Dong School, with Miss Frances!
Earliest evening shows: Jack Benny and probably other comedy/variety shows, Amos & Andy, I Love Lucy, Honeymooners.
A few years later in the mid-1950s it exploded, with sitcoms and detective shows and everything else, but these are my earliest memories. I’m sorry to say I didn’t get into westerns then.
-
Once I make the bed, I will lie down for a few minutes before heading out.
-
DR ELMORE - Tizanidine sounds like something Peter Graves would use in a Bert I. Gordon movie to kill giant grasshoppers.
-
Our first television was a Motorola cabinet style that had doors that would close....very small screen.
This was 1952 or 1953. I remember watching Santa Claus and some things with music. We got our bigger set - a Zenith a couple of years later.
This was 1955 the year the Mickey Mouse Club started....also watched Superman and Rocky Jones.....and my favorite I Love Lucy.
-
Don't remember when we got color tv....but we did see Batman so it must have been 1965 or so.....
-
Vibes for DC Nicky & DR TCB!
-
I also remember Ed Wynn and Kukla, Fran and Ollie.
Also, Howdy Doody.
-
In Seattle, we also had a local show that ran a B cowboy movie, spread over a 5 day week.
It was hosted by Texas Jim Lewis, who had done movies back in the 1930s & 1940s.
-
I was always disappointed when I went to the movies - and the movie wasn't in color......like The Shaggy Dog....

Tuesday afternoon greetings! It was another early morning for us, because we went to a naturalization ceremony for 99 new citizens from 47 countries. It was held on the quad at Miami University-Hamilton on this glorious Constitution Day. The Men’s Glee Club sang the National Anthem and several other selections. We were home by noon and I’m ready for a nap.
-
TOD - my father adamantly refused to buy a TV until he came home from work one day to find my sister at one neighbor’s house watching American Bandstand and me at another watching The Mickey Mouse Club. He said to my mom, “Well, if we want to see our girls I guess we’ll have to have a TV!” Guess who watched it the most...

;D
-
I was two when my parents got our first tv. I don't recall what I watched on it.
-
Just before I turned 4 we moved into our new home. My father had a custom tv closet built in our den. On one side was a regular storage closet & across from the access to the back of the tv for installing & repairing tvs. It looked very nice from the front & had doors to cover the tv. I have no recollection of when that became a color tv.
-
In that den was also our phone with the party line that was entertaining at times.
-
It's raining in Tumwater!

That's pretty cool, Ginny!

And on a sad note, Cokie Roberts, Legendary Political Journalist, Dies at 75 (https://time.com/5679134/cokie-roberts-dies/). :(
-
I never thought about her first name and if it was her real name, but I just saw on her Wikipedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cokie_Roberts) that her real full name was Mary Martha Corinne Morrison Claiborne Roberts (née Boggs). Now, that's a mouthful! :D
-
Yikes! Someone's planning on a reboot of a reboot! :o
'Battlestar Galactica' Reboot From Sam Esmail in the Works at NBCU's Streamer (https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/battlestar-galactica-reboot-sam-esmail-works-at-nbcus-streamer-1239018).

I am home from City Center. I am quite sleepy and ready for a nap.

I also thought it was her real name. It made her memorable.

I'm up, I'm up - about eight-and-a-half hours of sleep.
-
I printed out a lyric before bed - oh, well. I brought it to the piano, read it, a tune hit me immediately and I just wrote it so fast, but then spent two hours finessing it and recording. So, in bed at four.
-
Good afternoon!

TOD: Don't remember about our early TVs. My aunt and grandmother got a color TV in approximately 1971 so I was able to see color shows when I visited. I think my mother got one in about 1974.
-
Topic of the Day:
I've only lived with color TVs, except when I was in high school and I got a little 12-inch black-and-white TV for my bedroom. We still had the big family color TV in the living room. I don't know what any of the early family TVs were like. :-\
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Larry, I'm glad you were able to get out for a bit today. I have no doubt that your PT really gave you a workout. It's great that you already had a therapist you'd worked with before and liked. Vibes for a successful recovery.
-
Jane, you're quite welcome. I hope some of the information is useful. It was perfect timing on the Life Extension article. The magazine arrived, I started reading, and viola! An article on blood sugar!
-
I didn't sleep well and am not up to much today. I did go to the salad bar, where they had the corn chowder that I like, as well as the mashed potato salad. I also bought a sandwich and fresh-squeezed juice. My new fave is carrot-lemon. I'll have the soup later.
-
DR George, I've been reading about your new play with interest. Certainly a different format! I'll be interested, too, in any feedback you hear on the play in general.
-
Vibes to all.
TTFN.
-
Corn chowder sounds good.
-
I slept fairly well last night, however, one night of sleep did not make up for all my recent sleepless nights & I do not feel refreshed at all.
-

Thanks, Jeanne! The only thing that I've heard is that "people like it." That's pretty much it.
-
I don't remember not having a tv but it was black and white until I was in high school, so early 1970's
When I was at a friends home where they had color I would love to watch the NBC peacock unfurl its tail
-
Some of my favorite shows were the Micky Mouse Club, Diver Dan, the Jerry Mahoney Club, Soupy Sales, Wonderama, Fun at One, Captain Kangeroo
-
Had a chili, cheese, and onion hot dog and side Caesar salad for the main meal o' the day.
-
Also picked up a package.
-
That's been about it. Everything is ready for the two new CD release announcements at midnight.
-
Shortly, I shall be on my way to the Group Rep for another casting session. We should wrap by nine at the latest.
-
I finally got a burst of energy and have taken care of work I needed to do.
-
It's raining in Tumwater!
It stopped for a while around the time I went to lunch, but it started up again a couple of hours ago...and it's still raining!
-
But, I'm finally leaving work.
Be back later.
-
Good evening, all.
-
It's a bear of a day. Traffic was bad on the way in. I had to park in a different garage and was afraid I'd lose my car, so I had to take a picture of it after I parked.
I was only a minute late for the day-long training session (if you subtract the breakfast time) and sat with a group of people from the insurance line who all knew each other and what projects they were working on. I learned a little and the people were at least nice. But the training could have been more involved than it actually was.
-
But it robbed me of every last free second today.
-
Started watching The Souvenir, an indy film with Honor Swinton Byrne and her mom, Tilda. It earned a ton of rave reviews. It just feels like an independent movie that could have used an bigger budget. But the performances, including someone named Tom Burke, are largely good.
-
I'm having a glass of wine, because, well, I deserve it.
-
Supposedly the job I want at USAA has been posted today. Or maybe not.
Meantime, I got a call from the other company. They want me to come in for an interview.
I guess I have to review my resume.
-
But we need to get off this page first.
-
That'll do it.
-
Four!
-
TOD:
I think we were the last people on the block to get a TV set. It was a neighbor's hand-me-down. It didn't work very well and only got the the two UHF channels, NBC and CBS. ABC was on VHF. I read instead.
When I was in the second grade, we finally got a black and white set. I don't remember when the first color set arrived.
Favorite shows included Dark Shadows, Gilligan's Island and I Dream of Jeannie reruns, Another World, and The Name of the Game, back when it starred Gene Barry, Robert Stack and Tony Franciosa.
-
Good night, all.
-
Back from casting - saw about eight people, two of whom I cast on the spot. So, callbacks on Thursday and I'm probably going to have to go outside the company for two more roles, but we'll see how it goes. I'm already bringing in Banjo and Miss Preen.
-
Congrats on casting 2 roles.
-
Job vibes for DR John.
-
Job and pain free vibes for DR elmore!
-
Um, let's just get off this damn page, shall we?
-
And it's a long way to go, oh ye errant and truant.
-
Sorry, I have an 850 page book I must read.
-
Plus my shoulder really doesn't want to write on my tablet tonight.
-
I don't remember watching our first tv. I just have one memory associated with it.
-
I mosty limed I westerns and animal shows.
-
I'm watching the live finals to America's Got Talent.
-
Tomorrow is the live results finale.
-
All of the acts tonight have their stories (emotionally manipulative though they may be ;) ), but they're all very good!
-
I don't know who might win.
-
It’s 222 and I have to be up in 4 hours
-
But I just can’t sleep
-
The other guys insurance agency has finally admitted to 100 % responsibility for the accident (vixdads car was parked) and have agreed to pay repairs and car rental
-
So tomorrow we must be at the repair facility at 7
-
It's always a shame that if they don't "win," they're considered losers.

This late night insomnia is causing havoc

All the time I was house and condo hunting, my friend Tracy went with me to see almost all the properties. Last week, we realized that she hasn’t been here since I moved into the place. So, tomorrow she is coming out to see it, and then we will do lunch.

So...I bought three new shirts online a few weeks ago, and they arrived last Thursday.
-
I wore one on yesterday, and another one today.
-
These have the kind of collars that have buttons on the points and at the back to be buttoned to the shirt, in addition to being attached to the shirt in the normal way.
-
I literally just noticed a few minutes ago that there was cardboard under the collar to keep it stiff when on display...and it was still there!
-
Well, I learned today that I did not get nominated for either Best Supporting Actor or Best Actor for YES VIRGINIA. My son, former DR Jed, did get a nomination. And the fifth best actor spot went to a girl (woman) who played a boy in THE VELVETEEN RABBIT.
-
I wore my shirt all day with that cardboard under the collar! :o
