Well, I thought I had checked the MTA website before I left the apartment, but I guess something happened after I left...

The D Train was doing its thing along the express track, then once we got to 72nd Street it stopped.... Then it moved ahead a couple feet and stopped again... Then ahead a little... Stop.  For about five minutes!  Then it moved a little more... Stop...  -And we were literally just feet away from the Columbus Circle platform - I was in the front train and could see all the signal lights... Which were all red... And then came the announcement that due to an incident at 50th Street, all A/B/C/D trains were being shifted over to 6th Ave. after Columbus Circle...  So, they were literally shuffling trains back and forth for about ten more minutes before we pulled into the station proper.  Luckily, I was able to transfer over to the 1 train to get to Times Square.  -Normally, I would have walked down from Columbus Circle, but since the train was delayed, and it's so friggin' cold(!!!!) outside, opted to stay underground for as long as possible.

In any case...

Avenue Q still makes me laugh, cry, giggle and smile.  Sometimes all at once.  The show is in very good shape.  It's been a while since I've seen the show, and it was neat picking up some of the tweaks they've done since they opened.  -Most of them are as a result of the Vegas production.  An old and dear friend of mine, Jen (I introduced her to her husband years ago - and they now have three kids!), came with me, and she hadn't seen the show yet, so it was neat having a fresh pair of eyes and ears sitting next to me.  She loved it too.

And in honor of the 1500th show, they gave out cupcakes after the show - yellow cake, chocolate frosting, with an orange Q on top.  :)

After the show, I joined former DR Jason for a post-show dinner at Ollie's...  And sitting at the table behind us were, apparently, the next big boy band/brother act... They had just been "discovered" in their hometown, and they were brought to NYC to record a single.  Of course, their combined ages was probably less than 40... or even less than 35, so... We shall see.

DR SWW - I'd be interested in hearing DerBrucer's and the grandlads thoughts on "Bridge To Terabithia".  I loved that book as a grade-schooler, and from the commercials I've been seeing it looks like they may have overdone and overblown the quite small (and tragic) story.  I shall hope for the best.

Well, if tomorrow's first rehearsal ends up being short - and I have a sneaking suspicion it will be - I should have time to get everything in the mail to those I need to mail things off to in the afternoon.  If not, then most definitely next Monday.  However, depending how full my carry-on, I may be able to take the envelopes with me down to Atlanta and mail them from there.  So, my apologies in advance for the delay in the delivery of any Sparkling Prizes and such.

And, actually, I think I'm still owed a Sparkling Prize myself for answering a "North By Northwest" related question a couple of months back.  Alas, I don't think I forwarded my current address to the person sending out the prize.  Hmm...

The pancakes at The Cafe Edison were very good.  What I can't believe about that place is they get you your food faster than I could cook it.  I don't know how they do that. It's almost scary

Yes, sometimes the service there is spookily quick.  It's almost as if they were telepathic... Or the waiters "make" you order what you end up ordering.  But, hey, I don't think I've ever had an undercooked meal there ever.
