I hope that Danise has been able to pick up Sheena by now.  Also, I am hoping that these non-dog owners are receptive to a big dog!

Speaking of SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES, I am still trying to find someone/where who can remind me what the 60s vintage theme was (the era when the show opened with the marquee lighting up).  That theme I posted eons ago was actually the CBS Movie theme, not NBC.

Speaking of STORMS, it is hailing in Portland, Oregon.

How funny that it's warmer upstairs in my house than it is outside. But downstairs (since warm air rises), it's still quite cool, almost chilly.

While I ate lunch I watched DAMAGES from WEdnesday night. Thankfully, this week, HD Showcase is back on track and the FX programs from the week are in HD. It does make such a difference to my enjoyment of the programs.

Anyway, some incredible turns of plot on this week's episode, and now with only two episodes left in the season, who knows where all of this turmoil is going. But it's certainly been a fun season.

I spent most of the afternoon (well, I had to since the movie is almost three hours long) with QVO VADIS. Had seen the whole thing in a long, long time, and it was, despite a couple of slow patches, very entertaining. Even though MGM was in the beginning of its decline, they still knew how to put on a show.

The Blu-ray is quite special. Yes, there are some specks early on that irritated me. It's not nearly as clean as THE ROBE was last night. But the color looks wonderful and apart from some of the matte lines and a shot or two out of Technicolor registration, it's an excellent representation of the film.

I'm going to watch the "making of" documentary when I go back down. It's 45 minutes, so I doubt I'll have enough time for another movie tonight. I might have to make do with another episode of THE UNIVERSE (I think the next one is about Mercury and Venus).

One of the reasons I want to see the documentary on QVO VADIS is due to this gentleman (believe he is one of the talking heads in the featurette even though this was taken from the featurette on AN AMERICAN IN PARIS/GIGI:

I've had a visit from my friend Daniel Neer who wanted to borrow some music and hooked up on Facebook with my long lost friend Tim Oliver who's singing and living in Germany now. Tim asked if I skyped. What the hell is that?

So, here are my friends Daniel

At 2:00 pm, I going to a meeting of the play selection committee (of which I am a member) for Theater Artists Olympia.  One of the other committee members (Tim) works at South Puget Sound Community College and he said that he would let me know if/when he finds out when SPSCC has their auditions for their upcoming production of The Producers (non-students have always been allowed to audition for their shows).  Anyway, when I went to see You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown the other day, the pianist of that show (my friend, Stephanie) told me that they were already rehearsing The Producers! :P If Tim is at the meeting, I'm going to give him heck!

Actually, Tim's a great guy...and it's not the end of the world that I didn't get to audition for it.  There will always be another show. :D

And now, I must shower, get dressed, eat and go to a play selection committee meeting.

Until later!

Oprah uses Skype on her show all the time. I'm sure it's heavy duty product placement.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  It is a glorious day here in SW Ohio.

...
Where is everyone today?

Richard and I just returned from attending 2 (well, one and a half) Anglican services this morning.  We ventured into northern Kentucky to visit the congregation whose pastor will be ordained priest at the same ceremony where Richard will become a deacon (May 9, 10am).  We went from there to our usual church in Cincinnati, arriving just as the sermon was ending.  Stopped for lunch at a noodle place and a short visit to Barnes & Noble.

I'm heading downstairs now to clean the master bath, put away the folded laundry, and then head back to the home theater to watch more entertaining programming.

DR elmore, when we speak to our children we usually use Skype so we can see as well as hear them.  I have a webcam attached to the top of my monitor.

DR Druxy recently set up his computer & we have Skyped.  He has a buily in webcam on his computer.

Now that we are home the snow has stopped the sun is shining.  The snow was more like hail while we were walking around town.

Back from a wonderful event.

More than 75 historical societies were there, plus booths for each of the communities in and around LA.

BK's LACCTAA board member Joanna Erdos was there, Culinary Historians of So. California

DR Sam - the historical society expo sounds like something my husband and I would have enjoyed.  Is there a website for the event?
