THE GETTYSBURG ADDRESS
« on: August 15, 2009, 12:21:10 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were addressed to Gettysburg, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently in LA trying to find the Gettysburg address.

Topic of the Day:  maybe the 1940s.  A local theater group does an annual Christmas musical (with original scripts and actual 1940s music...I was in five of the first seven productions) that are set in the 1940s at a fictional night club called The Stardust Club.  For the most part, they've been very good.  They have great singers and (again, for the most part, good actors ;)).

Well, I need to get to sleep.  I just realized that I forgot to bring my own pillow. :-\ I hope that I can sleep on whatever my sister has.  I like my firm foam pillow.

I know what bk means about no more bs.   My dad left 25 years of his life neatly packed up in boxes, each one labeled with the year.   I went through everything looking for movie location memorabilia, but found nothing.  I also found nothing to suggest that he had a connection with having a daughter or granddaughter. So all the bs with my father is finally going to be left behind.   I had always suspected he was an out-of-sight out-of-mind person.  Now I know my feeling was true.  The illusion of family needs to be left in the past and I can be free to move forward with the rest of my life.

Onward to being free and happier.

I did find one movie tin from Lloyd's Camera in Hollywood.  This was my sponsor to come to the United States (or so I heard, I'll see if I can find someone old enough to know the story).  That I kept, it made me happy to see.

Also found one movie can that says house on Hesby St.   I'm having it transferred to dvd tomorrow and praying it's the house I lived in during Jr. High and High School.  The only 6 yrs I lived with my dad.  It will be the only pictures I have of the house.

If it's not too expensive, there are two more cans that say Arizona 1967 (I did go back to visit during that year) and I'll take a chance and transfer also.  I don't remember too much from when I was 14 in 1967.

topic of the day:   favorite history period and why.

It would be the future.  I'm waiting for the time when you get up in the morning, walk into an enclosure and poof your showered and dressed for the day.  I saw this in a play on TV 30 years ago, can't remember the play, but I do remember the scene.

Can't sleep.  Found my copy of 9th gate, unopened.  Looks like I'm watching a movie at 3AM.

Dear Daw, your favorite period reminds me of the Carl Sagan clip that was posted a few weeks ago.

Of which I loved watching.
