Constance Bennett was the scary looking one, though.  And dead between filming and release.  She had gone to Switzerland for a long put off face lift....she was afraid of the surgery....but went through with it once she was cast in MADAME X...  Vanity.....

Thanks for this info. I didn't know it. And I thought Constance looked marvelous in the early scenes. Her old age make-up was frightful at the end. Keir's sparkling blue eyes were remarkable for me today.

I've checked out both letterboxed and anamorphic DVDs - the letterboxed is the sharper, I'm afraid - but I don't know if that's just the nature of the DVD being transfered from a digi-beta to a DVD-R or what.  I'm going to ask the authoring guy his opinion from just looking at the digi-betas of each.

I think I'll try jogging - it's always an ordeal starting, I must say.  Then I'll be supping later.  Had another telephonic conversation where many interesting things were said, and, depending on my state of mind, things might be resolved and in a fairly positive way - but that would require me just putting aside everything that's gone down this past week.  We shall see.

Boats?  For being around so much water, I've sadly little experience on 'em.  Just a few ferries around Puget Sound and up to Victoria, B.C.

A friend of mine ended up with a couple free tickets to the Seattle Mariners game tonight, so I get to go with him.  Hope they at least slightly resemble a major league baseball team for a change.

Ok, call me crazy, but in addition to the crazy stuff happening at work, for the past 3-4 weeks I have had this overwhelming feeling that I shouldn't go to San Francisco on this trip.  It isn't usual for me to get this feeling and I had a huge rush of relief when I cancelled the trip.  Maybe it's nothing, but I feel a lot better.

I need to go to my old house, put on the screen windows and air it out for awhile.   The woman who looked at it 4 times and took in a contractor to get an estimate to redo the kitchen hadn't bothered getting her financing lined up and hadn't put her house on the market. The bank turned her down for a bridge loan so she wasted a lot of people's time.

There is another prospective buyer who is very interested and should know about her financing this week. So I'm going to go air out the house and see if I need to do a little sprucing up.

Oh, crap!

Ponder this a bit more, will ya?  See if your feeling was more about the "flight" than the actual "being in" San Francisco.

Otherwise, I'm gonna start packing stuff up to survive the earthquake!

Last hour of the evening in telephone reference.  Someone just called to find out the time in Italy and was quite surprised to learn that Rome is in Italy  ::)

DR RLP - what is the scariest place on an aircraft carrier?  What is the most exciting?

My American Idol favorite has had busy lines for nearly 15 minutes.  I hope that is a good sign.

I'll be E&T (Entertained and Traveled as well as Errant & Truant) for the next few days, through Saturday, or at least I think I will be, because I'm not sure what the internet situation is where I'm staying in San Diego.   I assume I'll be able to read the goings-on here, just not sure if I'll be able to post, since I had that trouble last time I took a trip.

Scariest:  Flight Deck during flight operations

Most exciting:  Any exit being used for "Liberty Call".

Well, I guess the Chief's Mess was pretty lively...best food on the ship...but "exciting"?  It eluded me.

No, it's not a specific feeling about the trip of being there. Could be that something may happen here if I'm gone.  Just a general feeling I really shouldn't go

SWW I enjoyed the story about the Folbot and Henrick .

Ginny, lets see how small this world really is…when does your mother leave for her cruise?

Rodzinsky/Mikey can you post a photo from back then?  I want to decide for myself if you are really Mikey. ;D
