Would any of the session tapes have the song that Sondheim provided the lyrics for? It's not on the album

I'm glad you asked that, DR Michael S.   I've been dying to know what bk know about any of that aspect of things.

Michael, your link is wonky. ;)

According to THIS article on Playbill.com...

Composer Bacharach added, "I saw this show in San Diego a couple of years ago and was quite impressed with the presentation and the musicality. I have always been very particular about how my music is presented on stage and have had some disappointments in the past. Steve Gunderson's musicality and Kathy Najimy's direction makes this a very exciting prospect for me."

DR TCB, unless I missed it, I don't recall your telling us all about your closing performance and the cast party.

Sad:

One of the Pro-Prop 8 protestors yesterday outside the California Supreme Court proudly held a sign which read:

"Dan White: Hero For Killing A Queer."

There are so many horrible things in the world, and all we are looking for is love.  Why should people hate us for that?

An orchestrator I know just asked me if "buffed up" orchestrations is a euphemism for dumbed down?

Hi,

Back from a 5-day trip to Austin.  The house is almost finished and looks great.

Assuming that escrow closes on our Los Angeles residence this week (fingers crossed), we'll be driving our animals back to TX starting next Sunday (15).

 :)

I've been printing out orders all day, plus doing errands and whatnot and I just ate some food from Gelson's and have begun a motion picture on DVD.

I believe I saw an incarnation of this Bacharach-Najimy show close to twelve years ago, in a club in NY.  It was awful.

I've had a lovely dinner, got through another part of THE MOST HAPPY FELLA, found and drafted most of my libretto annotations and I'm tired! I'm thinking about watching every Dickens adaptation I have on DVD over the next couple of months. I loved the BBC version of THE PICKWICK PAPERS and I just got the 1952(?) film version on a Region-2 DVD. I could start with that, move on to all the versions of OLIVER TWIST, the DAVID COPPERFIELD and keep on going. Hmmmm. . .

A vendor on eBay just pissed me off: two vocal scores from 1900-1910, and  since he's charging $5.00 to ship each item, he's charging me $10.00 for shipping via media mail , which has taken over 6 weeks to arrive a couple of times. When I told the vendor I thought he could have shipped them by priority mail or first class for that, he jumped all over me about his costs for tape, envelope, box, time, and I suggested the ass incorporate that into the cost of the item before he lists it on eBay.
