Well, you've read the notes, the notes got ahead of and behind themselves, and now it is time for you to post until the ahead of and behind cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: WHEEDLE!

I completely forgot I had some frozen Totino pepperoni rolls, so I made some of those - they hit the spot.
-
Welcome seventy-three GUESTS!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I didn't sleep badly, The cats behaved, and it wasn't too warm. I was restless and awake too often, and my legs really make it painful to turn over.
-
DR TCB, thanks for the recommendation for The Good Feet stores. There's nothing in Manhattan, but there are stores in Albany and Avon, Connecticut. The search did show other orthopedic shops in Manhattan, so I may investigate further.
-
DR John G, I hope all is well with your mother today.
-
There's little on my calendar: I have a carton of cat food to unpack today. Ann and Jen should have arrived home from Italy yesterday, so I look forward to their adventures.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I have no news to report.
-
November continues apace.
-
Good morning, all.

November continues apace.
The pace is too quick.
-
I slept well.
-
I hope Mom did, too.
-
Thank you for the prayers, vibes and well wishes.

It's Piler Tech.

Good morning, all.

I simply can’t believe it’s the third from the last day of the second to last month of the year.

Vibes for DR JohnG's Mother

The woman whose job it is to dust David.
-
At the end of Get Back, John Lennon offers a profane couplet based on Cole Porter’s Friendship.
If you’re ever in a shit,
Grab my tit.
It’s odd, but it earned Porter a songwriting credit.

Mom is headed to rehab this morning. My sister Linda has done yeoman’s work getting all of the details together and passed along to us.
She only had a moment to speak with Mom on the phone, but it was long enough to remind her to take her teeth with her.
-
I'm not sure which is more atrocious: the heels, or the embouchure.
-
From DR John:
Started the new Michael Connelly, Desert Star, yesterday and just finished it. Decent page-turner.
Good to know. I still have a long wait before I get this from the library.
-
From DR TCB:
Jane, I wasn’t trying to start a war. I don’t really care what people call it. I was just amazed that two correspondents, on a network program, didn’t have a producer or researcher who could look up the history behind the names.
Not a war, I was just curious as I can't recall saying, or hearing dressing.

That is an important reminder. I am wondering if she knew to do this from past experiences ;)
Continued good vibes for your mother.

Monday. The U.S. World Cup Team must win today's game to stay in the competition. They are playing Iraq at I think 1:30 p.m. on ABC.
-
I forgot I had a couple of programmable remote controls in a drawer - so now I have a remote that works in my computer room.
Everything on the old one worked except it would not go to a LOWER channel......it would not go backwards. HA! I hope it is enjoying what life it has left in the trash can with Priscilla throwing her raisins on it every day.
-
We watched TAR over the weekend. It is long and slow. Cate Blanchett is terrific. I loved all the insidery classical music stuff; not sure how much the general public will thrill to that. The overall effect is disturbing, as I imagine it is intended to be.
-
DR singdaw - do you think before a show opens they have a Tiler Peck Tech?
-
I like Sandra Bullock - most recently in a movie with Melissa McCarthy in which they are both policewomen or FBI agents.....it's very funny.
-
I am interested in seeing TAR! But I don't want to pay extra for it.
I signed up for NBA LEAGUE PASS yesterday for half price.....so I can watch basketball from everywhere around the country.....we shall see if I think it's worth it.
-
I started watching BUMPER IN BERLIN last night.....it's okay.....
-
It's on PEACOCK.
-
I haven't heard anything about my car.....or my brother's van....or anything like that.
-
I started Beach Read by Emily Henry. I think I’ve read it before.

There may be a snag (or two or three) in Wednesday's surgery. First of all, it is trying to snow here. It is on and off, and it isn't sticking, but it does complicate things.
-
I receive word that I need to have a Covid test, at the hospital. prior to the surgery on Wednesday. It was supposed to be done last Friday or Saturday, but it was never ordered by my surgeon. They will not accept home test results. They are going to try and order a "stat" test. If that works, I would need to go down to the hospital - TODAY.
-
I tried to explain that I haven't been driving much, because I can't load and unload my scooter, and that driving is difficult. They said, "Well, have a friend drive you." Ahhh, where am I going to come up with a "friend" on short notice on a work day?
-
I am getting really pissed off. It is a bit late to drop all of this on me. I think I would just as soon, reschedule the whole thing!
-
The woman whose job it is to dust David.
After dusting, do certain parts move closer?
-
I like Sandra Bullock - most recently in a movie with Melissa McCarthy in which they are both policewomen or FBI agents.....it's very funny.
But not a recent movie ;) I did enjoy that film.
-
I haven't heard anything about my car.....or my brother's van....or anything like that.
Do you plan to call and ask about it?
-
I started Beach Read by Emily Henry. I think I’ve read it before.
Exactly why I keep a list of books I have read ;D

From DR John:
October 26, 2020, 06:23:03 PM »
Cooking took a while tonight. Between that and the dishes, I managed to get halfway through Beach Read. I guess I'll finish it. It's gotten better. As soon as the bet between them was made, the story seemed to take off. Just now, she's forcing him to watch a Meg Ryan triple feature. Sounds painful.
-
DR TCB I hope you sorted everything out and can get your covid test, and have the surgery. You really need to get this done.
-
VIBES FOR DR TCB!

I started skipping a lot. Will finish tonight.

Not my favorite recording of the song. But parts of it are good. It just doesn’t have the heft it does as a duet. And then when the chorus joins in …
-
Sorry, DR TCB. If I lived there, I'd leave work "sick" and come get you.
-
I am getting really pissed off. It is a bit late to drop all of this on me. I think I would just as soon, reschedule the whole thing!
Oh, my goodness! :o Hopefully, it can all be worked out.
-
DR TCB I hope you sorted everything out and can get your covid test, and have the surgery. You really need to get this done.
What Jane said!!
-
Hugs, TCB.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep.
-
In thirty minutes I'll do a quick Gelson's run - mail place may have to wait until rehearsal is over.
-
I tried to explain that I haven't been driving much, because I can't load and unload my scooter, and that driving is difficult. They said, "Well, have a friend drive you." Ahhh, where am I going to come up with a "friend" on short notice on a work day?
You need Access-a-Ride!
-
DR TCB have you ever used Pegasus Lifts?
-
I wonder if any movie studio would consider producing Sondheim's Getting Away With Murder as a film.
-
HA! I have my car back.
The van is supposed to be delivered tonight to my brother's house. We shall see.
AND they bought me a gift.....a very nice 8 quart Air Fryer.....so I shall be learning to cook the air way!
-
I will be using my NBA League Pass to watch the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight and hope Mr Luka Garza is in the lineup for a few minutes at least.

Nice :)
-
Enjoy you air fryer. It was a nice thought after waiting so long to get your car back.
-
I still haven’t taken the bait to get an air fryer. I hope you enjoy yours, JRand.
-
Keith really likes ours.
-
I am off to discuss Jackie & Me with my book group.
-
Mostly all I have to say about the book is that I was bored.
-
Long, long day at work. Really tired.
-
The Amazon user reviews of Finale, the book with the last interviews of Stephen Sondheim, are scathing.
-
Monday evening greetings! Y’all may have guessed that we were away. We went back to Illinois to spend Thanksgiving with Charlotte and Hannah (and their parents, of course). It was a lovely visit and we had a smooth drive home today.

Usually we just say we are going to visit our granddaughter :)
-
I was the only one who thought the book was boring ;D
-
One woman didn't read the book because she thought it would be boring. She might have supported me in this opinion ;)
-
Page three? Really?
-
Page four? Really?
-
I'm about to reach a new plateau. Hopefully, someone will be around to screen shot it.
-
Meanwhile, where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Certainly not here.
-
Rehearsal was very fun.
-
Making some faux chicken stroganoff.

I'm about to reach a new plateau. Hopefully, someone will be around to screen shot it.
Or, use your phone to take a photo, then send it to DR George ;)
-
To my surprise I did my own screen shot last time.
-
I haven't heard anything about my car.....or my brother's van....or anything like that.
What car? Oh, the one you gifted your brother?
😁

I tried to explain that I haven't been driving much, because I can't load and unload my scooter, and that driving is difficult. They said, "Well, have a friend drive you." Ahhh, where am I going to come up with a "friend" on short notice on a work day?
That’s lousy! Do they have Uber there?

I love my air fryer
-
I was hoping to hear what ended up happening with TCB and the Covid test
-
'night
-
Gosh, I just don't have a lot to say today.
-
Sometimes, this happens.
-
~~~VIBES~~~ for DR TCB
-
Good night, friends.
-
Let's get crackin' here, posting-wise.
-
Monday evening greetings! Y’all may have guessed that we were away. We went back to Illinois to spend Thanksgiving with Charlotte and Hannah (and their parents, of course). It was a lovely visit and we had a smooth drive home today.
The drive sounds nice. Glad the visit was good.
-
All month, we've been past page five or more by this point. And believe me, we want a strong last three days for reasons you'll know about on the first.
-
So, to it.
-
We must be vigilant.
-
We must be ready, willing and able.
-
We must enjoy the thrill of the hunt.
-
Right now, I'm hunting for page five.
-
I mean, it's already seven-thirty here.
-
Exhausted. Long night of dancing.
-
And we're not even on page five.
-
Most unseemly.
-
Only a few more.
-
Am I bein gaslit.
-
Five!
-
Page five, at long last.
-
Oh, and here it comes - drum roll, please.
-
And here is the damn proof - it wasn't in the pudding, by the way.
-
1000 posts to go till a MAJOR achievement.
-
Can I get there tonight?
-
I'm very full right now. And I didn't even eat all the pasta I made.
-
I suppose I'll watch something.
-
Watching a half-silent film with Joan Crawford and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. it’s called Our Modern Maidens. Joan is a gold digger whose dad runs a dance band. She can dance and party and flirt. Fairbanks did impersonations of John Barrymore, John Gilbert and his dad. That’s the plot.
-
And I do hope there'll be some postings upon my return. Like three ages of 'em.
-
Yes.
-
It can be done.
-
Congratulations on your new plateauness.
-
It will be done.
-
So it is written, so it shall be done.
-
Spell that backwards.
-
Taht.
-
It IS written, so let's do the done.
-
Let it be.
-
Be it let.
-
Why I oughta...
-
I still haven’t taken the bait to get an air fryer. I hope you enjoy yours, JRand.
Ditto and Ditto.
-
My mom got an air fryer, but she doesn't use it all that much.
-
When she first got it, she made some frozen French fries and was impressed by how well they turned out...but she just doesn't use it very much.
-
Congratulations on your lofty new posting plateau , bk!
-
I guess old cooking habits die hard.
-
There are several things I love making in the air fryer
-
Roast potatoes
-
The Amazon user reviews of Finale, the book with the last interviews of Stephen Sondheim, are scathing.
Oh, no! I'll have to read them.
-
Oh, look! It's Page Six!
-
I put them in a plastic bad with just a drop of olive oil and sprinkle in some smoked Spanish paprika or Sunny Paris seasoning and then shake in all around
-
When all the little taters are covered in seasoning I pour the taters into the air fryer and put it on the French fry setting
-
About halfway through I take out the basket and shake it a bit then out it back in and let it finish
-
Perfect roast potatoes in about 20-25 minutes
-
And here is the damn proof - it wasn't in the pudding, by the way.
-
I use the 1/3 lb pre formed burgers from Aldi
-
The burgers come out perfectly medium rare
-
Page six, now we're talkin'!
-
Or, more accurately, posting.
-
Talking will get us nowhere.
-
Posting is the thing.
-
The thing is posting.
-
Why is the thing posting? Does the thing ever have interesting stuff to post?
-
I use the 1/3 lb pre formed burgers from Aldi
There are no Aldis in this area...and my burgers need to be thoroughly cooked...absolutely NO pink!
-
Started Murder at the Earl Carroll Vanities with Kitty Carlisle. I saw this ages ago in a terrible print. This one is much nicer.
-
The story is atrocious. The women are lovely. The songs are okay.
-
Where’s page seven?
-
It’s in hiding.
-
One more …
-
Seven!
-
Bought tix for Hawaii in June.
-
Good night, all.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
With my viewing I'm finished.
-
And just where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Guam?
-
Pacoima?
-
The South of France?
-
The North of Latvia?
-
East of Eden?
-
West of the Pecos?
-
North by Northwest?
-
I use the 1/3 lb pre formed burgers from Aldi
There are no Aldis in this area...and my burgers need to be thoroughly cooked...absolutely NO pink!
Then just cook a little longer
-
Bought tix for Hawaii in June.
Oh how wonderful.
I went there 40 years ago
-
It was spectacular
-
Sausages and hot dogs are nice in the air fryer too
-
The surgery has been officially postponed.
-
And grilled cheese sandwiches
-
The surgery has been officially postponed.
Oh damn. I was hoping for better news
-
They will call me tomorrow with the new date.
-
At the moment, I don’t really care.
-
Tom do you have a new date?
-
Oh never mind you already answered that
-
I am so angry at the subpar healthcare you are receiving
-
Congratulations, BK, you have made “gaslighted”, Mariam Webster’s word of the year.
-
I want to come over and get very fierce with some people
-
I am afraid I must sign off my alarm goes in less than5 hours
-
But I wanted to see Toms update
-
Hugs and vibes and prayers for Tom
-
8 ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
-
The surgery has been officially postponed.
Well, crap. >:(
-
Hugs and vibes and prayers for Tom
Thank you, vixmom.
-
Thank you, George.
-
The real irony of this whole day is that the surgery was scheduled for Wednesday (11/30/22). They could not procee because we did not have a timely CoVid test. As of Thursday (12/01/22), the Coved test is no longer required prior to surgery.
-
They could not, or would not, make an exception for one day!!
-
Oh well, it is going to snow tomorrow and Wednesday (maybe).
-
They could not, or would not, make an exception for one day!!
WTH?? :o
-
What's the haps?
-
This country and health care is an oxymoron.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Oh well, it is going to snow tomorrow and Wednesday (maybe).
Yikes!! Even in my area...snow in the morning turning to showers by the afternoon.
-
I'm still full.
-
I'm still here.
-
Not there.
-
Here.
-
I'm sure page nine is around here somewhere.
-
Anyone seen it?
-
Or am I being gaslit?
-
I'm still full.
What was today’s meal? Stroganoff?
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
Tomorrow, I have an appointment at 11:35 a.m., to get my car window replaced at the dealer. Earlier tonight, I taped a garbage bag to my open window and HOPEFULLY it'll stay on while I'm driving.
-
Yes, the faux chicken stroganoff. Very good batch.
-
And still no nine.
-
Has anyone here ever ordered from Omaha Steaks?
-
Gaslighting 101.
-
I know people who have ordered from there - they rave.
-
I'm raving that there IS no page nine.
-
This cannot be real.
-
See what I mean?
-
At long last, page nine.
-
And isn't that fine?
-
Some would say it's divine.
-
They have a lot more non-steak items for sale than they used to have.
-
While others would say it smells like turpentine.
-
Has anyone here ever ordered from Omaha Steaks?
I haven't, but a former co-worker has. It's been a few years since she retired, but I think she liked them.
-
I would love a really good filet, but it would go right thru me.
