Good morning!

Another beautiful day and warmer than yesterday. I should be able to go to lunch today without a jacket and maybe not even need an undershirt. I'll see later.

Very sorry to read about Marilyn Cooper. I, too, saw her in WOMAN OF THE YEAR and adored her number. I liked the show more than many here though it wasn't great. It had a very hard working ensemble. It was just the two leads who were not appropriately cast.

TOD:

I loved second string funny women like Kathleen Freeman and Reta Shaw. Their timing was so superlative, they could make even straight lines hilarious. Marilyn Cooper had that same kind of timing.

This afternoon I'll work on THE PRIVATE LIFE OF HENRY VIII. If I have time tonight, I'll be watching the CATHERINE THE GREAT film with Elisabeth Bergner. I'm not sure I've ever seen that one all the way through.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I walked through the Dock Street Theatre this morning.  And when I mean "through it", I mean through it since it's currently in the midst of a renovation. Even in its half-completed state, it's quite a wonder, and I'll definitely have to make a trip back to Charleston once it's back to it's "new-found" glory.

Right now, I'm back at the office trying to figure out the rest of my day.  Since I'm in this part of town, I may head over to Sullivan's Island to finally walk on a beach.  Although, since I did run out of the apartment this morning, I know I have to head back there to do some tidying up - as well as to pick up my clothes for tonight's performance.

OH!

And while I was dining at FIG last night, I thought I was sitting next to some people I knew either from New York City or L.A., maybe even Chicago.  And as I was settling my tab, a man walked in and sat next to me at the bar, and I almost immediately said, "Hi!" since he just looked so familiar.  Well...

After talking with Michael, the bartender, and the hostess, it turned out that these familiar faces were members of the cast of "Army Wives", which is on the Lifetime Channel.  I guess they were all coming in after a day of shooting.

*If they happen to be back there on Saturday night, I'll be sure to ask for an autograph for DR MBarnum.  ;)

And I'm not sure if this has made any of the mainstream news outlets - or even the non-mainstream new outlets - but it seems that the "Gathering Storm" people have requested and "won" that YouTube pull down any of the video parodies of their ad campaign.  Additionally, since they are claiming copyright infringement, some YouTube posters are getting their accounts suspended and all their previously posted videos pulled off the site.

Gee, that is one way to make the GATHERING STORM people even more popular than before!

And speaking of the Dock Street Theatre...

Spoleto USA unveiled their poster artwork for this season:

What do you think of it?

I'm still not sure what to think.

DR Jane, sorry your condition does not seem to be getting better.

Is the treatment for poison ivy the same as for poison oak?

I have no idea if this is fact. But in my niece's book (which i assume is to educate). The little girl gets poison ivy. And it is miraculously treated with something that grows in gardens called jewelweed. i have never heard of this.

Thank you.  I found a new spot today & some of my milder areas look a little better. The rest is the same & driving me batty.  Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac & I don't remember the others, are all basically the same.

I never heard of Jewelweed.  I wish I had had some of this miracle plant to try...http://www.altnature.com/jewelweed.htm

I remember Stanley Myron Handleman...and, yes, he was funny...for about a year.

http://poguespages.blogspot.com

I represented him when he opened for Sinatra at Caesar's.

That was a kick.  I went to the after party with him; got to meet "ol blue eyes," as well as Sammy
Davis, Burt Lancaster and Yul Brynner.

OK... I think I'm going to head back to the apartment for a bit, tidy up, gather up my stuff for the rest of the day, and then continue with the rest of my day.

I saw Judy Canova do her act here in the early 60's.  I still remember a few lines (although I have forgotten the set-up for them).

I'm up, have answered a plethora of e-mails, and am thinking about the long jog - it's been in the 90s to 100s here, but today is gray and ugly and it looks quite chilly out.  That's LA!
