My first taste of read Jewish food was on my first trip to NY, NY where I ate with Elmore, Rodzinski, and Jose at Art's Deli (?). I had sweet and sour beef tongue, I think it was, and Matzo Ball soup. It was delicious, and so was the company.

My favorite deli food is hot pastrami on rye with mustard and a pickle on the side.  I haven't eaten pastrami in years, though...

Good morning, all! I have a trek to Toyland this morning where I have a meeting with my colleague Curtis about several projects. After that, I'm back to the Napa Valley.

I want to know what it is with these damned banks holding checks for far too many days while they drag as much interest out of my payment before they decide to turn it over to me. I swear the asses at Sovereign Bank are sittiing on a lot of my money longer than they should, and I am very unhappy about it.

Speaking of Jewish dishes, where is our DR PennyO?

TOD: potato pancakes
         matzoh ball soup

I may well be the last DR on this board to buy a digital television.  With the possible exception of Laura DR.

The three of us should form a club cause I'm in there too.

Good Evening/Morning!

It's ten o'clock here in Manila.  And it's ten o'clock in New York City right now.  Just not the same ten o'clock.

Greetings from the Starbucks on Bonifacio High Street! -Where the whole street still seems to be hopping, even at this relatively late hour on a Tuesday.

I decided to head down here since the internet connection in the condo seems to be a bit spotty, and there were a few things I wanted to take care of that needed a more constant connection, so...

*And the internet access here is only 150 Pesos for three days of unlimited Wi-Fi access.  Or just a little over $3.00US - quite the bargain.

Count me in as another member of the Non-Digital Television Set Club.  A nicer TV would be nice, but all I really "care" about is that my DVR is working properly. ;)

So...

My mom's class reunion was quite fun.  About 25 of her classmates attended.  Food was served.  Lots of photos were taken. People danced. And some people even participated in some karaoke.  Including yours truly. ;)

*Alas, I somehow got stuck singing "Achy Breaky Heart" since they all wanted to dance to that one.  ::)

After the class reunion, my aunt's son, Ponch, drove me to an interesting shopping complex.  It was sort of like an open-air mall/flea market.  Everything was sold there: clothing, jewelry, furniture, housewares, artwork... and pets.  There was even one pet stall that sold things that one would normally not keep as a pet - at least I wouldn't.  So, if any DR is interested in tarantula, snapping turtle, asp or scorpion(!)...  :o

Our out-of-town company has departed.

I must now hie myself to Merkin Recital Hall for a vocal recital by my friend Sasha Cooke.

Thankfully, no Flip cameras were in attendance.  However, I did take advantage of my digital camera's movie mode to document a portion of my father's efforts earlier today. ;)

DR JRand58, she sang Kitty at the Met and in London in Doctor Atomic.  And a previous recital of hers was immortalized in a blog post by one of our very own DRs.   :)

After my shopping excursion, we headed over to yet one more party, gathering, reason to serve a lot of food.  It was a surprise party for my Auntie Odie. -She's one of those "aunties" that's not a real "auntie" - just a very good friend of my Mom.  In any case...

It turned out to be quite a nice party. Her family had put together a music video in honor of her turning 70 - and I swear, she doesn't look a day over 40! - and it was quite amazing to see all the places she's visited over the years.  I believe she's been on every continent, and in at least 40 countries.  She does work with one of the Catholic charities, and some of her travel is mission-related. However, she also travels on her own too.

She's taking me and my parents to some nature preserve/resort tomorrow for an all-day adventure.  Apparently, I'll be on a zip-line tomorrow, and for dinner, she's taking us to some high-end vegetarian restaurant.  -And after all the beef, pork and eggs I've consumed over the past few days, a vegetarian meal will provide a nice balance to this week's food consumption. ;)

DR DRUXY that was a very funny video.....but at my age, it was also very sad.  DR DtM - I was not under the proper influence to watch your video.
