Well, you've read the notes, the notes were run through, and now it is time for you to post until the paper cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MARGARITACEOUS!
-
Good morning, all! My computer is screwed up. I will be on the phone with AppleCare. Hopefully, I will return before I leave for the sitzprobe this morning.
-
I am back for the nonce. AppleCare isn't available until 8:00am EST, so I have another 30 minutes to wait.
-
If I had realized that the wonky behavior wasn't a Time Warner problem, I could have solved the issue last night. When I thought APPLECARE!, it was too late.
-
Then, my leg drove me crazy all night, so I've had very little sleep. Between my leg, computer, and DVD player, I'm having one hell of a month.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Woke up in the middle of the night again. Laid awake for an hour again. What in the HELL?
-
Other than that, I have no news.
I'd said I might see In the Heights again this evening, but I probably need a quiet evening at home more.
-
Oh yes. Just remembered....
Mercury.
-
Yesterday felt so much like a Friday that it's hard to believe today really is Friday. Oh thank goodness it is!
-
I am back, thanks to AppleCare. It was my Intego security system, which I have trashed. And now I must run to a sitzprobe!
-
FRIDAY!!!!
Yes: MERCURY.
Computer vibes for DR ELMORE!!!
Tech Run vibes for MR BK & Co.

Last night for the ballroom dance - I had four of the eight girls....but not the SAME four girls I usually have.....
AND then the pianist decided she didn't remember how we cut the music for the dance. The "dance" music is so very different from the song it's based on.....with different rhythms, etc., I had made a "spur of the moment" decision to use the song.....but we had a repeat which I saw her write down the night we did it. Then we did a couple of other times. Last night she decided I didn't know what I was talking about.
After a few minutes of looking at the the music like she had never seen it before....I talked her through it, and she said....Oh yes...this is what we did.....
AND next week the director has scheduled Choreography Day - where we clean up the two dances we have already done....and do the two that haven't been touched....with AT LAST the full cast.....but NO PIANO PLAYER.
-
And I don't have a score.....so I have to try to find the sequences on YouTube and hope that that production uses the music we have......
-
Not on the CD, you know......
-
I forgot to mention that JANE EYRE arrived in my mailbox on Tuesday.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I have lots of pages to catch up on.
-
Sounds like you had a nice birthday, George.
-
I've spent the last few evenings culling pictures of Glenn and his wife, Mickey, from our various trips, dinners, parties and other get-togethers over the years. I found a few excellent photos as well as many, many, many photos of food.
-
TOD:
Absolutely no idea.
Since today is the birthday of Orson Welles, maybe we'll watch a Welles movie...or not.
-
Friday morning greetings! Richard and I went to the last Colligan lecture of the season last night to hear a retired Miami professor talk about Fitzgerald, Hemingway, and the Lost Generation. It wasn't nearly as good as DR Elmore's Colligan lecture...
-
I forgot to mention that JANE EYRE arrived in my mailbox on Tuesday.
Poor thing. Couldn't you find a spare room for her?
-
I forgot to mention that JANE EYRE arrived in my mailbox on Tuesday.
Poor thing. Couldn't you find a spare room for her?
Or a bed with or without a dead girl in it already?
-
She won't come into the house.
-
She's afraid of the dog.
-
I'm up, I'm up, and I've been up for most of the night and morning - maybe I slept four hours - I didn't really need that aggravation before a tech rehearsal, as I have to constantly be a cheerleader with energy. I've been popping Airborne and Sambucol for days trying not to get what some in the cast have (Robert Yacko being the latest victim, but he knows how to combat such things and get it out of his system, which he did).
-
TOD:
We're going to Palm Springs today to see Jason Graae in his new cabaret show. So, Mark has loaded some new things onto my iPod to listen to for the long drive there. Since I've now decided I'm a big Stephen Schwartz fan, he loaded Godspell (which I've never heard in its entirety), and I'm hoping he loaded The Baker's Wife too, but I'm not sure.
-
Good morning, good muffin to you ... and you...and you..and you.
-
I must go watch children play.... children don't play like they used to -- it's all very sad.
-
DR George I'm glad you had fun celebrating your birthday.
-
I received beautiful Mother's Day flowers this morning :)

:) Happy Mother's Day, Jane!
-
I've been waiting for Friday to appear all week, but it doesn't feel like Friday today. Too much to do.
-
I have come to the conclusion that I have arrived at a point in my life in which only four work days should be necessary or desired. I am good for four -- Count 'Em FOUR -- days per work week. That's it.
I'm completely worthless for at least one day in the work week. Last night, I was so tired that I flaked out during "The Big Bang Theory". I woke up this morning at 4:58 a.m.
I feel refreshed and invigorated, but yesterday was a "dud" day.
-
It is presently (and pleasantly) raining in Oakland CA.
We needed it, and we're getting it, and I'm happy to be reporting it.
-
FRIDAY!!!!

Thanks, Jane, I did. :)

Ditto and Ditto for me...I hate it when that happens.
-
Good morning.
-
They say your rain is headed our way, Ron Pulliam.
-
Well, watch out. It sneaks up on you when you're not looking.
-
I must go watch children play.... children don't play like they used to -- it's all very sad.
Around here, if you watch children play the teachers call the cops.
-
Wow! What a slow day here at HainesHisWay!
More than 1 1/2 hours since the last post.
-
What is everybody doing today?
-
DR LAURA haz posted some nice boid pitchers on BookFace.
-
Someone here at work brought in two different ice cream cakes to celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday.
I think one was mint, but I had a piece of the Oreo cake...talk about delish! :D
-

:) Happy Mother's Day, Jane!
Thank you. They really are beautiful. I will ask Keith to email me the photo he took of them to text Bryan.

I would not go near the mint :P :D
I have never heard of celebrating Mother's Day at work. That's cute.
-
I am home from the sitzprobe. The cast is quite good. It was great to see my dear friend Karen Ziemba, and Joshie's hard work paid off. There may be work on Monday, I'l wait to hear from him.
-
Oh wow it was such a nice day out today!
-
Good evening!
-
Lots of rain in the DC area today.
-
I would like to see "Do I Hear a Waltz?" but I don't think I'm going to make it. Melissa Errico sang the title song in her show at 54 Below and did a great job.
-
Page 2?
-
This will not do.
-
Page 3 is due.

One more!

Topic of the Day: I just finished listening to The Maury Yeston Songbook (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Maury-Yeston-Songbook-The-2003-Studio-Cast/6196/) (I got it used and it's scratched :( ), then the original London cast recording of Privates on Parade (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Privates-on-Parade-1978-Original-London-Cast/3227#43772) (which is new and not scratched).
-
And now, I'm listening to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Dirty-Rotten-Scoundrels-2005-Original-Broadway-Cast/743/). :)
-
Work vibes for DR ELMORE.....

What is everybody doing today?
I, along with my husband and son, helped the son of my friend Becky's professional mentor clear out his mother's room at a local retirement community. She has Alzheimer's and is being moved to California to be closer to the son. The AAUW garage sale (June 3-4) is getting several nice pieces of furniture, some lovely framed art, some handbags, and a nice assortment of DVDs.
-
Then I freshened up a bit and Richard and I went downtown Middletown for First Friday. We visited with some artists and had egg salad sandwiches at Triple Moon Coffee Company.
-
I must now leave work.
-
Tonight is the official opening night of Theater Artists Olympia's Seven Ways to Get There (https://olytheater.com/)!
-
But before I go to the theater, I need to get some paper coffee cups that are used as props in the play.
-
Evidently, they go through a lot of cups.
-
So, off to Costco I go, THEN to the theater.
-
Until later!
-
Oh wow it was such a nice day out today!
:)
-
We went for a nice long walk on this beautiful warm day. We then went out to dinner. I had a Manhattan and am still feeling it, but it was good.
-
Keith is playing his latest computer game, Lara Croft. It really is amazing to look at-the hair is incredible. It also reminds me how horrible the acting was in the movie, really the computer game as far more emotion that the actress in the film plus Laura Croft is English.
-
We have almost a full house for opening night!
-
The author is here tonight, too. :D
-
Page three? REALLY?
-
I slave all day over a hot tech and this is what I have to come home to? Page THREE?
-
Tech was the kind of tech I absolutely abhor, but it's the way they do it at LACC and at some point they've got to do it the pro way. So, we spent the day going cue-to-cue while the lighting guy actually wrote the cues and entered them - I simply don't understand that - when I do shows elsewhere, the lighting guy has the show written - I come in, look at the cues, give notes, and then the actors show up and we run the show without stopping. Then the lighting guy makes any adjustments and THEN we do a cue-to-cue for the stage manager and then we're ready to run. This way is very long and arduous. I told everyone that tomorrow our run-through is without stops no matter how badly or well the stage manager calls the show or how many cues didn't get written correctly.
But it was doubly hard because we were also doing all the projection cues. I'm really thrilled with the projections and I'm just trying not to make them intrusive or overdone.
-
The author also had 15 additional comp tickets reserved, so not many are paid tickets. ::)
-
And my throat's a bit sore, but I think that's because I didn't have much sleep. I just had some chicken soup and will now relax.
-
I also have to decide if I'm going to let our replacement actor go - he took a day off today, even though he said he wasn't going to. He actually loudly proclaimed the night before to the entire cast, "I need a fucking day off." Well, boo fucking hoo, don't we all. These kids were appalled at that attitude. They get Sunday off - otherwise they're in that school from nine in the morning until we wrap rehearsal and they've been rehearsing with me for four weeks, not one. He's never sung his song properly (he's under the weather and has no top, whatever the hell that means), but many of my cast has been under the weather and managed to do their work. He knows hardly any of his lines after eight days, can't get through one line of his three-page monologue without calling "line" - I took that away from him yesterday to get that burden off his shoulders, and we spoke this morning and I was VERY strong about my unhappiness and told him he had to show up tomorrow morning and give a damn performance. Will he? Doubtful. I knew this was potential trouble when I hired him, but I was hoping things had changed for him and he was eager to do it. But he brings a completely weird energy into the room. So, the question is, do I call him tonight and tell him he's done or do I give him one more shot at it in the morning - I've already covered everything he does in the show just in case.
-
Boo hoo is right. He didn't have to accept the role, but I would think that if you told him that he had until the morning, you should at least give him that last chance. But that's just me.
-
Unreal, man.
-
If you can replace him, do it.
-
Page 3, really?
-
Really?
-
Something must be done.
-
Let's see ...
-
Four!
-
Page 4, really?
-
Watched the TV version of One Touch of Venus with Janet Blair, Russell Nype and George Gaynes. Very well sung, even if the book adaptation didn't always work.
-
Now Teresa Stratus is overdoing I'm a Stranger Here Myself as one of the extras.
-
And now, back to work.
The photos are done. The music still needs some help.
-
I still need to cook.
-
Sorry I just got home from work and I am burnt out. I got in at 7:45 today
-
Today I watched on youtube a recorded live version of Rocky Horror. It was very strange.
-
It's intermission and it took about five minutes less than last night! That's a good thing!
-
I certainly didn't expect that we'd have an almost full house for our opening night (even if most of them are comps), but they really seem to be enjoying the show.
-
Hopefully, this bodes well for the rest of the run.
-

I agree.
-
'night
-
The first performance of "Seven Ways to Get There" is done!
-
We had a very good audience.
-
Hopefully, it wasn't just because they were friends of the author.
-
It was a great show and the actors all did very well.
-
Tomorrow, I'm going to my sister's to finally celebrate my birthday with the family.
-
There was talk after tonight's show about going out after tomorrow's show.
-
Good evening!
-
I'm late!
-
I'm late!
-
For a very important date.
-
I have no time to sit and wait,
-
I'm late,
-
I'm late,
-
I'm late!
-
Sorry to have been E & T today.
-
I am frankly nauseated by the dearth of posts. Perhaps a new all-time low.
-
The world is aware I am home from Copenhagen.
-
I have taken some Ny-Quil and am going to bed now.
-
Five!
