I miss the artwork and style of the great LP covers of the 60's and 70's but I am impressed with the packaging of the recently issued Traveling Wilburys Collection.  The new Paul McCartney "Memory Almost Full" special edition is also packaged well.

I guess it's been mentioned ages ago, but I've just received my Barbara Cook CD which has  "No More" listed as from "The Frogs".

So much to listen to this week!

I am feeling very tired and emotionally drained.  So, I am going to sleep and tomorrow will go to my last day at the office.  Whew!

I am feeling like maybe I should eat something, but it would have to be small, and I have no clew as to what it should be.

I have finished a DVD and probably am done with my evening viewing.  I think I need to take the air.  I may even give it back.

Oh! I thought you were talking about the episode that aired Monday at 10PM, but you were referring to the pilot.

That's Ryan Hurst,
...
Ryan played a very interesting charachter on SAVED, a guy with some real anger management issues, and we got some insight into the origins of that through his relationship with his father. He was also a born-again Christian so he was always very conflicted because he was the most violent member of the squad.

The SAVED character you describe was Harper Sims, played by Michael McMillian - who does look a bit like Ryan.

Ryan was also in Medium, playing Allison's bother, I believe.

He was also the lead sceptic in TAKEN.

because the puppet show he's been working on all week is called THE ORGANWISE GUYS and all the characters are internal organs with names like SIR REBRUM, PERRY STOLIC, etc.

If they want to make it into a musical Fred could do lyrics!

Guess I'm not writing the notes early tonight, although, I suppose, I could start at ten-thirty and be done by eleven.  That would be nice, actually.

I have had a very great time so far, here in NYC..... and I truly apologize to Larry, Jose, Fred, Slingchaw, and any other New Yorker's, for this HIDEOUS hot weather that I brought to your lovely city.

But I've already had some great walking, visiting, nibbling, etc., and tonight we went to see Grey Gardens.  I loved it..... actually much more than I expected to.

And while walking leisurely around midtown this afternoon, dear Jose popped into a "high-end, specialty, Japanese, dessert" salon.  I was thinking, "what an oxymoron" only because most of my Asian friends have always told me that our idea of "dessert" is pretty unknown to them.

Well...... Jose came out with a small bag, and gave me the most delicious cookie/wafer thingy.  It was a wonderfully tasty double light "waffle" type cookie that was filled with a light but yummy vanilla cream.

And so, we elegantly walked at the side of Rockefeller Center, and nibbled on our tasty yummies, while the great golden Prometheus was giving fire to the world.

DR FJL - If I'm remembering properly, the Courtyard Marriott Convention Center is one or two blocks away from the Convention Center.  The old Convention Center - so about four or five blocks from the new Convention Center.  However, it is right around the corner from Ford's Theatre, and it used to be the Riggs Bank Building.

As for Metro access, you'd be a few blocks away from a couple of different Metro Stations: Chinatown/Gallery Place, Metro Center and Navy Memorial.  As for access to Union Station, from Metro Center it's three or four short stops away.  *Metro Center has a couple of different exit and entry points, so be sure to keep track of the most convenient exit to the hotel.  Although, from the Chinatown/Gallery Place station, it's just one block away - if you get out on the Gallery Place side.

Here's the link to hotel on Marriott's site:

Washington DC Convention Center Courtyard Marriott

And here's the link to DC's Metro system:

Metro - Opening Doors

Any other questions, just ask, or give me a call.

*Now, you do know/remember that Signature is not Metro accessible?  And the cab ride from DC to Shirlington will not exactly be cheap either - and a lot of the cabbies have some major 'tude about crossing the river into Virginia (or Maryland).  *And just make sure to arrange for the cab ride back into DC ahead of time too - although, I think Signature does offer call ahead cab cards in the lobby.

DR Ginny - Glad you enjoyed Zaytinya.  I should have suggested some of my favorites to you, but I really don't think there's anything on that menu I don't like.  Truly.  -However, aren't those "footballs" of bread just amazing?!?!?

DR Rodzinski - WHAT?!??!?!?  Is Kati Roll Company closing?!?!?!  Say it ain't so!  That's been one of my stand-bys for a quick lunch whenever I play auditions at the Equity building across the street.  And I know they've been doing great business... I mean it's always been busy when I've been in there.  -Unless there happens to be another Indian wrap place in Times Square that I don't know about.

-Now I'm wondering if their location in the Village on Bleecker will be closing too.  However, there is that other paratha place up on 103 and Amsterdam, so all is not lost.
