TOO MANY DESSERTS
« on: December 26, 2011, 01:08:10 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were sweet and dessert-like, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they too are eating too many desserts.  I also forgot to mention that at the screening I had a little piece of pumpkin cheesecake.

The day after Christmas and I'm up at 6:30am eating my oatmeal, banana, raisins, walnuts and cinnamon and a cup of coffee.

I'm listening to Song from the Shows with my dear friend, Alex Hall. It's broadcast from Middlesbrough in the Teeside area of Northeast England.

We had Roast Beast with mashed potatoes and gravy on Christmas Eve. We also had stuffed mushrooms and veggies and fresh rolls. We had apple and cherry pies for dessert along with espresso and anisette.

We had a whole turkey dinner yesterday at Anthony's Uncle and Aunt's house. There were 12 people including a 2 year with enough energy for everyone in the room. It was great fun. We had tiramisu and cheesecake for dessert.

Good morning, all! Today I must finish the Fashion Show. These last two parts - the two pianos - have far too many notes and take forever.

I've also got the first drafts for the DEAREST ENEMY scores, and I'm itching to get started on them.

That's my day.

I posted somewhere that Fright Night was a fairly mediocre film and got savaged for my troubles. Best not to mess with horror fans or diss their favorites!

BK,

If I recall correctly, I used to have a DVD of the original FRIGHT NIGHT, released by Sony.

So, even if it's OOP, what's the big deal with this limited edition?

We watched BLACKTHORN yesterday, a very good western shot in Bolivia.

It's based on the premise that Butch Cassidy did not die in that shoot-out.

Sam Shepard played the older Butch.

When "Fright Night" was being shown on cable 7 times a day (or so it seemed), I watched about 10 minutes of it once.  That was pretty much it.

I have not liked a Susan Sarandon film since THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, and she is not the reason I liked that movie.

Yes arguing with internet experts is useless - and no they never do backtrack even when proven wrong.  There are a couple of Yahoo Mail Groups that I finally left because ONE person would make things miserable for every body else, and the moderator would not ban them.....   The Annette Funicello Group was taken over by some idiot poster.....and I miss everybody else.  Now and then I am tempted to go back to see if she is still there.....but it is not worth it.

DR ELMORE - I was the assistant director and stage manager for a Steve Tesich play called SQUARE ONE.  I think it was the first production away from New York.  He attended our Opening Night in Indianapolis and was very nice to everyone, and said he liked the show....  He also signed our scripts which was very nice.....I still have it in my collection.

It was very shocking that he died at such a young age.

Monday morning greetings!  It's sunny and cold here in SW Ohio and I'm in very low gear today.  We have a lot of dishes to hand-wash and Richard and I both have Christmas toys to play with - I gave him an iPad2 and he gave me a new TV for my Mom-cave.

I am a big fan of his play BABA GOYA aka NOURISH THE BEAST, and I love BREAKING AWAY. I never met him. I got to know Amy and her mother when they would show up at events at Ron Raines' apartment. I always felt sorry for Amy because she, like Emily Loesser, never got to know her father before he died.

In any case...

We got back up to Fairfax a little after midnight last night. I checked my email, then went right to bed. I couldn't believe that I was so sleepy after the car ride, but I was.
