Of course George is just sitting there like a dead herring in the moonlight.
On of the few shows we bother with on TV (it's off season here and even worse than usual) is Canadian show "Corner Gas:". It is possible to make a comedy without a laugh track.
dead herring in the moonlight.
I love that song...
Justin Timberlake ....And it's really terrible that it's being announced the weekend that Justin's new movie opens - he must feel sad.
DR elmore - Seeing The Fantasticks again? Still need a date? Hmm... I wasn't planning on leaving until later tonight... Hmm...
You can tear a poster from the wall if no one is looking.
Has anyone seen the Judi Dench-Cate Blanchette NOTES ON A SCANDAL yet? It's just opened here today. Got terrific reviews, and since those two actresses are so talented, I'll bet it'd be worth seeing.
One of my gay rights advocate friends sent me an angry letter about its psycho lesbian theme, but my lesbian friends enjoyed the film. Who's to know?
Good Morning! Once again!
The car is moved back. I'm showered and dressed, and not it is time to head down to Ripley-Grier to play some auditions.
DR elmore - I'll call you on my break. Count me in, otherwise. :)
Laters....
No matter what I try to write this morning, it doesn't seem to come out the way I intend.
Ruth's Chris Steak House in Indianapolis has valet parking.
Perhaps you should start a blog - I have read many that turn out that way. 8)
I think the book cover matches to book....hmmmm....did he suggest an alternative?
And the word of the day is: INCARNADINE!Casey would waltz

Um....do you mean Shrub? Did Shrub suggest an alternative?
I'm thinking, but could be mistaken, that it's a result of Shrub's policies regarding "his" war in Iraq.
Still waiting to hear about my car
My grandma told me that I absolutly MUST see Blood Diamond on the big screen, so perhaps I will go see that sunday night. However her's is a biased opinion givin her obsession with Leonardo DiCaprio.
...I'm taking the cell phone....
DR Jose, it's a date! I'm taking the cell phone. You can call me on that if you like.
Adrianna, the very handsome actor that stayed at my Hollywood hotel, David Harewood, stars in BLOOD DIAMOND. I keep meaning to go see it, also.
Words I never thought I'd hear (or read) uttered by DR Elmore ;)
No my post was about a comment MR BK received yesterday about the cover of HOW TO WRITE A DIRTY BOOK and other stories. 8)
"Taking the cell phone"...lol! I knew you would convert once you found out how handy those things are! Hee, hee!
Friday greetings! How'd it get to be lunchtime already? I've had a very busy morning here at work, preparing for an offsite meeting this afternoon.
I still hate the damned things! But I refuse to be fashionable, as all other Upper West Siders, and walk around in public places with it glued to my ear whilst revealing to one and all my innermost secrets and furies. I have HHW for that.
DeepDiscount DVD seems to be working again after DR DtM broke it.
I'm goin' out to dinner tonight.Talk about animal abuse! Putting that poor little lamb on a rack, turning the wheel and torturing the poor little creature.
Oh! I'm goin' out to dinner tonight.
Gonna have rack o' lamb!
Gonna have rack o' lamb!

HOCK UP A LOOGEY - that's the title of my sequel to The Sound of MucusHow do you salve a problem like Maria's?
Pretty flimsy website to go down with just one click, if you ask me.
In any event, I will now be able to order the first four seasons of ALL IN THE FAMILY for the price of just two.
Today is the anniversary of AITF's prime-time debut. It's also BATMAN's. But that's not yet on DVD.
Talk about animal abuse! Putting that poor little lamb on a rack, turning the wheel and torturing the poor little creature.
I can hear the pleading, terrified bleats now!!
BAAAAHHHH!!! BAAAAHHHH!!! BAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!
How do you salve a problem like Maria's?
BK - Were the new Last Starfighter orders from the Washington DC/Virginia area by any chance? This had appeared in a recent DC online publication (see 4th paragraph).

You don't know your own strength!
I am soooooo excited: I've had lunch and now I can drag out my score .....
I see London
I see France
I see George in my looks askance.
I was thinking that MONK and PSYCH started the second half of their seasons tonight, but it's next week that they start up again. Reruns on USA tonight.
However, NBC and CBS have new episodes of their line-ups on tonight. I must try to remember to either watch or record LAW & ORDER tonight since it totally slipped my mind last week.
A euphemism?
Erin has cut my hair for 13 years....and that's the longest business association I've had with anyone other than the U.S. Navy.
My favorite thing to do in an elevator when someone is talking on a cell phone is to sing.
my play's title -- (Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding, Kurt Cobain's suicide, the O.J. chase)

The classroom sexpidemic of women teachers raping underage boys is not going ignored by Hollywood, which has just released its latest offering on the subject, "Notes on a Scandal."
…
The subject matter may remind movie-watchers of 1995's "To Die For," where Nicole Kidman depicted the real-life drama of New Hampshire's Pamela Smart, the former media-services director at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, N.H. Smart now serving a life sentence for persuading her teen lover to murder her husband.
Such films may have some wondering if Hollywood has a love affair with themes about underage boys seeking sex with older women?
In 1971, the Oscar-winning "Summer of '42" featured a youth falling in love with a woman played by Jennifer O'Neill as she awaits word on her husband's fate in World War II.
In 1983, Andrew McCarthy, a member of the so-called Brat Pack, starred in "Class" as a prep-school student having a torrid affair with his roommate's mother, portrayed by Jacqueline Bisset.
The 1999 film "American Pie" celebrated a high-school student scoring with "Stifler's mom," and helped popularize the acronym "MILF," which stands for a "mother I'd like to ----."
In the latest episode, O'Brien introduces the skit: "Our last new character's heart is in the right place, even if he's a complete idiot. Please welcome … the homophobic country western singer."
Then a middle-aged man wearing western clothes comes out from behind a curtain and starts to play a guitar and sing:
Oh I love you Jesus
But only as a friend.
You touched my heart but I hope
That's where the touchin' ends.
You're always lookin' over me
When I need a higher power.
But you better look at somethin' else
When I'm in the shower.
"Monk", OTOH, is pure-T aggravation to me.Good Grief. Do we agree on something Ron?
Gonna have rack o' lamb!
Yummity yum yum

I have to say up front that I am appalled by the recent news that the military's service time limits have been eliminated.
This move is going to prove extremely harmful to morale. It's one thing to be sent to Iraq, knowing you have to serve 12 months and then will get a break.
It's quite something else to learn you're going to be sent to Iraq and have no predictable return time...unless it's in a body bag.
It's better than the status quo where we publish service limits, then, at the last minute, extend them, and sometimes, extend them again. At least "you're going over, we don't know when you'll be back" is honest.

Dreamgirls at #1. It figures - it does fit in with all the other pop stuff which, for the most part, I detest.
I don't think it's the first time....but hanged if I can remember the last time.Probably LOTR Ron.
#1 in the USA - Not here. (I was referring to a post from Matt H.)
Probably LOTR Ron.
There's also Warlow and Hobson Ron.
You know, and I know -- and I know you know, and I know you know that I know -- that the solution is a DRAFT.
National Guard units should not be the ones carrying the bulk of this "war's" load.
It's not, IMO. It's far better to honor those limits and send in fresh troops.

After reading about his website in the program, I checked out the site by the young actor playing the Mute. We've become email buddies, and I urge you all to check out the site and encourage you to keep up his log on how the show is coming along.

Heading down now to mop the kitchen floor and then get back to Mr. Cukor for a bit before settling in with evening TV and DVDs.
WBBL.
I suddenly remember an advertising campaign, which could be altered to read:
"I dreamed I mopped my kitchen floor in my Maidenform bra..."
Does anyone still wear Maidenform?
oh, I got my car back about 1/2 hour ago...finally.
I guess Mr Sondheim wanted to follow up his Gypsy lamb lyric.
Carlo Ponti, the Italian producer of films such as "La Strada," "Doctor Zhivago" and "Blowup" and the longtime husband of Oscar-winning actress Sophia Loren, whom he discovered as a teenager, has died. He was 94.
Ponti, who had been hospitalized for about 10 days with pulmonary complications, died Tuesday at a hospital in Geneva, Switzerland, his family said in a statement today.
During a decades-long career that reflected the rise of Italian neo-realism and the French New Wave, Ponti was a producer on more than 140 movies, including Federico Fellini's "La Strada" (with then-partner Dino De Laurentiis), Jean-Luc Godard's "Contempt," Claude Chabrol's "Bluebeard," Jacques Demy's "Lola" and Michelangelo Antonioni's "Blowup," "Zabriskie Point" and "The Passenger."
The Ponti and David Lean-produced "Doctor Zhivago," director Lean's epic 1965 romantic-drama set against the Russian Revolution, received an Oscar nomination for best picture.
Ponti also produced Vittorio De Sica's "Two Women," a 1960 Italian World War II drama that earned Loren an Oscar for best actress.

Again.
There are so many possibilities for the weekend. The best ones involve physical exertion, but will lead to inner harmony and contentment.
That would be moving a bunch of boxes from my condo to my storage unit. Some of them have been sitting for months...full of records, etc.

NINESES
I may have tickets for THE FANTASTICKS tonight. I'm having a helluva time finding a date.
Words I never thought I'd hear (or read) uttered by DR Elmore
It all began because of my dad.
Rack-of-lamb anticipation's a delicate art,If it's falling apart, it's been cooked too long.
Playing a role,
Aching to start,
Keeping control
While falling apart.
Rack-of-lamb anticipation is good for the soul
But it's bad for the heart.
We watched three episodes of Monk and could see nothing but stupidity. The show did not find an audience here in OZ.
DR LAURA did you hear the Cottonwoods singing "Tammy"?
after his lyrics for Candide I guess
Rosanna understudied the lead in Half a Sixpence on Broadway a long time ago.
Hiya, Edi! Yeah, that was a good show! Nice music!
Two more posts to 1900... what the heck!
And "1900"---a good movie...and a good number of posts.
I think I have mentioned before that Tommy Steele was my first official crush!
The Closer will return June 11th. James Duff was on a conference call with one of my producers yesterday. I got to hear most of the plot outlines for the upcoming season. Sounds great!
I've never seen or heard Half a Sixpence. I do have the London cast recording of Some Like It Hot (aka Sugar on Broadway) with Tommy Steele.
And I just got "1900" from Netflix. It's on two discs...it's long.
I don't think it's a great musical, but the movie is a fun, old-fashioned musical.
Just heard 5 gunshots down the street and called the police. I'm starting to see them buzzing around here now. Greg isn't home yet so I told him to be careful when he drives down our street!
I've decided to start my 'new office' fund.
Meet me in freelance world! You will iive longer and happier!
I think I'm ready to do it now, but I need the reserve of cash so I can keep going until some $$ comes in.

We're getting down to -2 tonight. Dakota, I hope you have some time off this weekend to relax. I find a hot bath is a wonderful thing after a bad week...and ice cream....and chocolate.....
Sorry to hear you had a terrible week, DakotaCelt. I hope it gets better.
I cannot imagine -20 degrees. I am cold enough tonight.
I think I have mentioned before that Tommy Steele was my first official crush!
When I left work, it was pretty darned cold.
Winter survival tips:
NEVER set your parking brake overnight.
NEVER lock your car doors overnight.
