Just had a call from elmore - senility and overtiredness is a terrible thing and I am living proof of it. I posted the notes early and was so happy I went directly to bed without opening the new topic.
DR Jane, it's the lemonade I'm making out of the lemon handed to me last August
And their shipment from Thornton's is due in next week.
There's a wonderful and fairly long audio interview with Eve Arden, hosted by a really rather wonderful Lucille Ball, on THE MOTHERS IN LAW DVD set. I didn't know Lucy had her own interview show on CBS radio for a while.I need to get a copy of that. Loved that show.

Something rather odd struck me this morning: THE PINES OF ROME started playing on Sirius XM and I was struck by how positively Coplandesque that opening brass theme is.
Thanks to all and sundry for the vibes and good wishes. We shall see what we shall see..... I would probably play another role - if Shelly asked me to.....if there are some FUN people backstage.

I have no favorite Al Pacino roles/films
George, did PBS ever release a DVD of that "Cradle Will Rock" performance you mentioned last night. I never saw it when it originally aired.
And the word of the day is: BALDERDASH!
Allegro!
Beane must really have done wonders with the script of "Sister Act." The reviews in England were tepid, but everything I've read about New York is great. A real sleeper.
And Black Sunday has become Kritzerland's fastest sellout.

Fantastic news!
DR Jane re: your question from yesterday.
I had walked in and placed my bag on my chair. I was standing about a foot in front of the chair making sure my niece was okay sitting on the floor.

Ditto.
I think I will watch THE YOUNG PHILADELPHIANS on TCM in a half hour or so.
I seem to remember that I really liked Mr Paul Newman and Mr Robert Vaughan in this movie.
Well, you've got plenty of time before next season...season five won't be broadcast until 2010.

Boy was that lady rude!!!
Today is my mother's 84th Birthday. She started the day with a massage (she calls it her "treatment") and tonight is out for dinner with friends.
Tonight I'm going to PEO. For the program we're all supposed to bring a photo of our mother's and a story about her. What a cool thing to have fall on my mom's birthday
I guess "Catch Me If You Can" couldn't.
Last night, George said thsi about Season 4 of MAD MEN:QuoteWell, you've got plenty of time before next season...season five won't be broadcast until 2010.
Does anyone have a clue what year George is trapped in?

It's a lot of fun. BK's close personal friend Kay Cole was evidently cast as the daughter at one point--she's in the pilot. Deborah Walley replaced her for the series.
Yes DR MBARNUM find out everything Jewell knows.

Now that you have threatened Jewell, she will probably clam up!
I did tremendously enjoy SISTER ACT, much to (frankly) my surprise and utter delight, and can't imagine how they did this lavish musical at the Pasadena playhouse.
I so wish I had seen it there to compare.

I am sure that elmore will be rushing off to see it, since his beloved Victoria Clark is in the show.

Oh Hell, if I wait for elmore to type some snarky response, we will still be on Page 4 at midnight.
Has anyone heard of this new diet product called SENSA? You apparently shake it on your food before you eat it. According to the ad, you don't need to change your eating habits or excercise. I made the mistake of clicking on a hyperlink, and now I get e-mails every day from them.

About what?
I was wondering if Ms Clark has hired her publicist yet to get that second Tony for her apartment! She won the last one completely on publicity. It wasn't that overrated performance.
One of our local television stations did an hour long special about giant earthquakes in the Pacific Northwest last evening. If I put together everything that they said I should keep on hand for when, not if the big quake strikes; I would need an extra bedroom to store all of it.
I have my landline service back. It only took 2 1/2 months after the fire in the basement!

I never saw THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, but I did enjoy her performance in TITANIC.
And there is one Guest online. Maybe it is Victoria Clark!
I was hoping that John G. would be here. I didn't understand his comment regarding CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. Did the show get bad reviews?

One of the great joys of my mother's life was when she was asked to join PEO. Still, I remember that her "sisters in PEO" were right there at the funeral to make sure that she was either buried wearing the pin, or that it was returned to them. I thought that part was a bit odd.

I don't know how it could, unless it basically a laxative.

No, I don't think so. I won't know how bad for a few more days.

I was drying my hair and washing dishes. Not at the same time.
Keith heard a humming bird outside his office window. When he looked out to see the bird he discovered it was only Sherlock quietly snoring on his deck.:D
Thanks Vixmom but no, drying my hair still hurts. Using the flat iron hurts even more. I have my book group meeting tomorrow morning and PT in the afternoon. I want my hair to look nice in the morning & don't want my shoulder hurting before PT, so I did my hair tonight.

Ginny, that's what happened to the church computer. Except I didn't get a chance to save anything to a thumb drive. And the IT guy did it for free. By mistake.
The London Candy Store (http://www.thelondoncandycompany.com/).
Respighi was secretly an American. The pines of Rome were really in Rome, North Carolina.

My computer required 5 hours at the Genius Bar. I had to purchase a large thumb drive and download anything I wanted to keep before they wiped the hard drive and reinstalled the operating system and iWorks (word processing, spreadsheet, and PowerPoint clone). It's now kind of like a new computer with nothing on it. My email address book is gone and I'm considering using a web-based mail program. Meanwhile, message me here or on Facebook if you need to reach me.
Well, DR Laura, fortunately my only expense today was the price of the thumb drive. Oh, and the jacket I bought at J. Jill and the Easter gifts I bought at Godiva (one for Mary Linda, one for my mother) when we shopped while they were working on the computer.
