And speaking of Bollywood movies (of which I speak of quite often, I am sure you know) I took TD's suggestion and purchased KAL HO NA HO, which I have always heards is a fantastic movie...I also bought three (3) John Abraham movies, including his newly released NO SMOKING.

You can see John in all his glory (looks like they saved a lot of money on his costuming) in this trailer from NO SMOKING right here --->  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38IYGCtiH1w

Omigod, you guys! (A LEGALLY BLONDE reference) NO SMOKING looks truly hot!  I guess most of the Bollywood beefcake stars are starting to show a lot more skin. . .

Hi all!  I must confess that I am starting to feel better.

But this is good news!  You make it sound like it's a bad thing! ;)

I guess you wouldn't want to date me then. . .I'm one of the GWTW fans. . .not so big on BROTHER SUN, SISTER MOON, but I like it better than the two other St. Francis films.  Bradford Dillman is too, too earnest in his Francis movie and Mickey Rourke is just too weird. . .(though Mickey does a strange nude scene in the snow). . .

GWTW has never seemed long to me, nor boring.  (I know that there are many on HHW who don't like the movie, but, I'm not one of them).

Oh, td, does this mean it is over between us?

I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow.

Thanks for the Barbara Cook link, slingjaw.

She's phenomenal.

Ron we have to stop agreeing on things. It is becoming unseemly.

I have just made the decision to direct the Chance Theater and LA Festival Of New Musicals production of The Brain - it's a bit of a shlep, but I think it will be fun.

The actors make more than the NYMF actors made, despite this house not being Equity (which we're trying to change and get them Waiver status).

And speaking of NYMF - our box-office check is on its way and its a travesty.  Our general manager will be contesting many of their add-ons and charges, which are wholly fiction-based.  For example, they charged us for extra lighting equipment.  That would be fine if we'd had any extra lighting equipment, which we did not.  They charged us for sound perishibles (mic tape, packs, etc) only we bought our own.  I don't know why I thought that maybe these people would have done this accounting in a forthright manner, but, you know, it's NYMF.  Depending on what they say on Monday, I'll decide just how strong I will be - minimally, they will have to refund to me a few hundred bucks.  If they don't, they will RUE the day, oh, yes, they will RUE the day.  There is enough dough to barely return everyone who donated to the NYMF fee, so no worries.  As soon as I get the check, it will be deposited, then I have to put that money into my paypal account, at which point I'll send everyone their $100.

Consider me a BIG GWTW fan. I love the movie even if Vivien Leigh's accent isn't always there.

I began my afternoon watching an old CSI episode while I fixed and ate lunch. It was the one where the body of a dead LA cop was found while cops from all over were participating on a team marathon run in Vegas. Good episode. Steven Culp, Mr. Bree Van derCamp from Season 1 of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, was the primary guest star. This must have been the season before DH started.

Next, I watched DRUNKEN ANGEL, an early film of Akira Kurosawa. I had never seen it, and it was quite riveting. Lots of what would become familiar Kurosawa touches, and this was the first film Mifune made with Kurosawa, so that also makes it doubly important.

Next, I watched a 31 minute featurette featuring comments on those connected with the film talking about it and about making movies in the late 1940s in Japan. Interesting piece.

I also watched today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. The gay characters were on (Thanksgiving episode), but they didn't figure into the plot much at all. No more ATWT this week.

And all this time, I thought Dean Jones was the first Bobby you heard on the OBC.  He was followed shortly by Larry Kert.  Who knew that Dona was the first?

On a whim, I checked this out on video about 10 years ago and I decided to watch it.  I was surprised that I actually enjoyed it as much as I did. :) I haven't seen it since, though.  My niece LOVES the movie.

DR Jose and I enjoyed ENCHANTED immensely. If you're a fan of SLEEPING BEAUTY, CINDERELLA, and SNOW WHITE, in particular, there are a lot of in-jokes, some wonderful performances, wonderful orchestrations by Danny Troob, a couple of good dance numbers, cames oby several Menken "princesses" (Jodi Benson, Paige O'Hara, and Judy Kuhn), and a lot of comedy and romance.  And there's a wonderful line about rampaging rodents. I can't wait to see it again.
