We actually live in Hell's Kitchen.  Al;though it's a lot more genteel these days.  (Heck's Pantry, perhaps?)

From the wikipedia entry, which I am too addled to link:

"Hell's Kitchen, also known as Clinton and Midtown West, is a neighborhood of Manhattan that includes roughly the area between 34th Street and 57th Street, from 8th Avenue to the Hudson River.

The neighborhood provides transportation, hospital and warehouse infrastructure support to the Midtown Manhattan business district. Its gritty reputation had depressed real estate prices relative to much of the rest of Manhattan until the early 1990s."

Of course that happens here, too.

Thank you for the information, DR Elmore. I had never heard of this until the episode I watched today (and the disease took away my beloved Sir William), so I appreciate the info and the link.

"On account of how" Larry Moore is an opera buff, I would anticipate his intimate familiarity with any pernicious wasting disease that could assault the frame of a fair damsel.

Gee, I used "Larry Moore" and "buff" in the same sentence - whoda thunk!

Speaking of "pernicious wasting diseases," it's official - our DS Rob has mono.  He's on his way home for the week for us to look after him.

Well, it seemed to me that any stage that Elena danced on magically expanded in all dimensions.  Hers was a talent that demanded extravagance and space (not to mention head pieces that morphed from one type of fruit to another!)

The thing that struck me as the oddest bit was the title song--a bitterly sad ditty about a prostitute being sung in a bordello.  Now, that's entertainment!

Go for Bottom!  It's the best part in the play next to Puck.

Nope - TB usually has a bloody cough and is a lingering disease.

I am loving HEROES in HD!!!

Adrian Pasdar's skin looks much better than it ever did in PROFIT.

Yes AVENTURERA's title song was very unique.  And yes DR DtM - her talent required the expansion of ANY performance venue.  You will be happy to know that for some time a STAGE version of this movie has been kicking around....not sure of its current status...but someday it may be coming to a theatre near YOU!

Hmm...

So, a friend e-mailed me asking me what I thought about an audition "package" he was putting together.  Well, I told him I didn't like it.  It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either - there could be better.  Simpler and better.

Of course, now he's upset, and wishes he had never shared his idea with me.  And did not appreciate my opinion.

FEH!

It has been my experience that people seeking opinions are actually seeking praise....in general.  8)

An audition package, you say?   Is this something akin to a casting couch?

Sadly, if he does well tomorrow, then I'll get the whole "I told you so.  You don't know shit." attitude from him.  And if he bombs tomorrow, then I'll be the one to blame.

No.  One is padded.  One you sit on.
