I decided to watch Eyes Wide Shut (the unexpurgated version from the UK).  I like Mr. Kubrick, and I'm fascinated by parts of the film, directorially, but I must say it's really bad.  Cruise and Kidman are actually embarrassing to watch, especially Kidman in the pot scene.  That is some of the most mannered amateurish acting I've ever seen.
