Really looking forward to another grand episode of THE CLOSER tonight!

SAVING GRACE is on, too, and I'll give it ONE more chance tonight.

The promo producer told us that it really started getting good with eipsode 4 (next week) if you're willing to hang in there with it. They are apparently still establishing a lot. I haven't been able to watch much of it at all but I'm going to hope there will eventually be a marathon.

I think you will love THE CLOSER tonight. It has everything---a very disturbing serial murder, action plus humor and tenderness all so nicely balanced. My favorite episode so far this season!

IYour post reminded me of one of my favorite P.D.Q. Bach numbers:
"Concerto for Horn and Hardart".

It's on CD!

That's Abominable!

(But better than abdomenable...)

Such gut-wrenching humor!

Yes!

I enjoyed it quite a bit - it's living up to it's promos.

However, in the scence where one of the agents gets married, we have a close-up of the paraphenial (cans, etc) tied to the Honeymoon car; the tin cans used have smooth molded bottoms which were not used in the 1950's.

I remembered how annoyed I was when maufacturers went away from the rimmed-edged bottoms to the smooth  - no longer could I easily remove my cranberry jelly by opening both ends of the can and pushing a nicely formed cylinder onto a plate (the smooth bottoms have no ridge to engage a can opener!).

Those of us who were up and about during the times depicted are probably enjoying the sets and costumes - and the great automobiles!

And it is devoid of Saving Grace-like gratuitous trash.

PS Thanks to Concast on-Demand, I can still watch Heartland, which I still enjoy (but KyleXY takes precedence)'

Thanks for the insider info. I can hold out another week or two more to see if there is any improvement. Were this the busy fall TV season, I wouldn't bother, but there isn't much else to watch anyway that isn't reruns on Monday.

A post every ten or fifteen minutes?  Are people sitting around like so much fish, enjoying their brioche and lattes?

Someone brought brioche and lattes?  Where?

Some excellent vibes and xylophones, too, for the actress to work out.  And the fundraiser funds to go through today, at least part one of them.

Heading down now to clean up before going out to lunch with best friend John and then later driving to the post office to mail some packages.

I'm all showered and shaved and clean and, for once in NY, thanks to the straightening iron, my hair actually looks pretty good.

Is the part that physically demanding?

Mbarnum, I have noted you have a sizeable card collection. Do you collect just birthday cards or do you have other cards also?

Actually those are not my cards. I just find the photos of them on the internet.

I'm going to bring my laptop with me, just in case I'm in a hot spot - I've got a couple of things to download today and am expecting a couple of e-mails that will need answering.

I shall now be on my way to the rehearsal studio where we'll be casting.

Oy, the massive amounts of cords behind my computer and television hook ups always make me anxious...I can't stand to even look at them.

Regarding DER BRUCER's question about the automat, the American History Museum used to have an old automat on display, IIRC.

Of course, I never ate from it--not even sure if one could.

I'm up! I'm up...

I saw my very first episode EVER of "The Closer" just the other day on TNT On Demand. I liked it so much that I watched 2 more episodes immediately thereafter! How have I missed this show?!?!

I must hie myself into the living room and have a visit with DYI (Dear Yoga Instructor) Alejandro before I hie myself down to ye olde rehearsal studio for my audition for THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X.

Before I go, I must say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR TD!!!
