I saw a show get stopped once.

It was the first performance I saw of "Wicked."

I don't know if the scene is still there...or if the Emerald City guard still has the line.  But Fiyero was in charge of a group of men in search of Elphaba, who had found Dr. Dillamond in a cell in the Wizard's palace.  Doctor Dillamond was a goat, and was the last animal faculty member on the staff of Shiz University until he mysteriously disappeared.  By the time Elphaba found him, the doctor had lost the power of speech and could only "Baaa-a-a-a-a."

Elphaba spirited him off the stage as the guards approached.  Suddenly, Fiyero arrived on the scene, and one of the guards said, "Sir, there's a goat on the lam."

Stopped the show cold.

Doubt seriously they left it in.  But it certainly stunned the actors on the stage!

I have been absent all day so I am probably too late but nevertheless, congratulations and good vibes to all deserving and in need of such.

As Alan Young so beautifully put it in The Time Machine, "We've got all the time in the world."

I saw Ragtime several times here at the Shubert.  It was  wonderfully realized, although I felt it didn't succeed  100% as a total experience.  But that opening number was incredible.  As was our very own Jason Graae as Houdini.

Yes, "There's a goat on the lam" is still in the show and it still gets a huge laugh. What gets an even bigger laugh is Glinda's "Let the little girl go...and her dog...Dodo." Kristi's such a hoot...!

Seeing MADAMA BUTTERFLY on Friday night and then seeing BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (for the first time ever...can you believe it?) next Tuesday evening. Who's excited!?!! I am!

well...the opening number is (and can you figure out how to write it.....better...than how how it was done....?).....geez.....it could coast....on that mostly......yes.....I can understand how it may SLOW down....but that's the book...even the movie with Jimmy Cagney didnt' work.....but it makes one STICK with it....because the story is riviting.....

Geez, Jason, I ENVY you.

How many times have you seen "Wicked" now?

I'd LOVE to see it on Broadway.

Good to know that one of the intended recipients is still around to read the congratulations. I am never sure how many DRs go back walking among their yesterdays. Do you ever sleep Laura II?

Did Allan Young say it again in the remake as he was selling flowers?

until i have tangible proof (where is DR TCB now, eh?), I'll just take that remark on face value.  Though you know what they say, "One songbird in the hand. . .is worth two in the Outback."

Congratulations, Laura II!

I just got a letter from the CBC (just opened it) informing me that the "Italian version" of one of my old films blahblahblah... The Italian version?? I didn't know there was an Italian version. Non capisce. I didn't know I could write in Italian? What a revelation! They're offering me 10% of the Distributor's Gross Revenues. Which is? And is it in lira? I'm full of questions (And Diet Cherry Coke.)
I have the News on in the bg. Just heard a woman who poisoned her husband by putting anti-freeze in his food say, "We all make mistakes." ...I'll say.
