...And I meant to post this link a couple of days ago since more than a couple of DRs are now on Facebook (myself included):

However, just two days later...

And then just two days ago...

Just some food for thought.

At first I thought you were going to say this was George in his Dolly Dimples costume.

I almost thought that...but I think I'm going to have a blonde wig. ;)

Speaking of selling, I have a bunch of duplicate books I'm thinking about selling - so I'll list them here in case someone is interested in something.  They'll all be reasonable and there are some titles that some folks might want.

You wouldn't happen to have a signed first edition copy of THE BIBLE?

I also used to enjoy e-bay. I bought a lot of antique Evelyn Nesbit postcards for DR Sandra and vintage Marilyn Monroe postcards for DR Megan. Later it seemed they were being listed by stores and too expensive.

I have also grown frustrated with ebay

As for e-Bay... I used it for one transaction years ago, and just last year I finally discontinued my membership.  Of course, that process took a couple of months to complete. Yes, there used to be some deals on e-Bay, but I have too many friends who have been ripped off via e-Bay, and I got sick of all the spoof e-mails from "e-Bay" and "PayPal".

I agree with your comments on the spoof emails...

A freind of mind calls them "flee-bay" and sometimes fleabags

All this discussion about eBay today & Keith happened to mention he purchased something from there today.  He was looking for a liquid glucosamine for Sherlock & found it at eBay.

Supposedly dogs absorb the liquid better than pills so he decided to switch after our recent scare with Sherlock.

What is one of the corniest lines ever spoken in a movie starring Jerry Ohrbach looking embarrassed at every turn?

I used to go the USPS every week and buy several postal money orders.  And then I'd address my envelopes, insert a copy of the auction page with my check, add a stamp and mail the damned things.  PayPal eliminated all the fuss and bother for the seller.

I used to get VERY upset at the sellers who were offering something I had been looking for and then read "I DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL" followed by a lengthy, verbose explanation that was a diatribe against PayPal for exacting fees based on the amount of the sale.

I've written many of these vendors and asked them to let me use PayPal and that I would GLADLY pay whatever the fee was they'd be charged for doing so.   A few agreed, most would not.

It has been a while, though, since I encountered anyone who would not accept PayPal.  It doesn't really make any sense not to.  Sellers can "build in" the PayPal fee while buyers get the protection PayPal offers for any problems that may arise due to non-receipt of merchandise already paid for.

And I have had the opposite experience, I have ran into some sellers who accept paypal only

Last night I got a "friend" request on Facebook from someone whose name means absolutely nothing to me.  They apparently graduated a year after me at college.  I don't want to be rude, but I have no idea who this guy is.

Maybe Alzheimer's has already begun to set in...

Crazy EBAY....I was watching these things for a few days and they got NO bids....so I bid today....and won.....

They must be at least individually worth to some collector what I paid for all three.

Check out the titles:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200200092330&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=010

Just out of curiosity, Jrand, why do you want them?

Hello, DR TCB!

Alas, I believe it's prime dining and/or TV viewing time for most folks right now.

In fact, I've just had some soup for dinner, and through the wonders of the DVR, I'm watching "American Idol", "America's Next Top Model" and "Great Performances: Company" all at the same time, more or less.  Some more, some less.  ;)
