Tenderloin - a First Edition of this musical by Bock and Harnick.

I'm proud to say that the fellow who played the romantic lead in my production of Tenderloin last June has been wowing audiences all over America ever since in the title role of The Wedding Singer.

Hi DR Noel.

Very nice, is there a link to the Wedding Singer tour?

Actually, the clouds broke, and I just took a peak at the lunar eclipse.  :)

*I tried to take a picture of it, but it's just little too far away and a little too dark to get a proper picture with my camera. Ah, well...

I had a nice clear view of it  - the clouds passed over momentarily, but its clear again now.

I got a new toy today that allows me to download slides and negatives only my PC.

Here is a slide I won on Ebay.   It was my first download:

I thought some of you boys and girls might enjoy this shot of Tom Tryon from Disney's "Texas John Slaughter"!

For those interested in reading about the eclipse - The next total eclipse visible to us won't happen until 2010, so go out and see it now!

That was great - 7:01 on the dot just like Nasa said and the moon disappeared!

I'm freezing.  I should have worn shoes and a coat before going outside.  I must have been out during the total eclipse, all I saw were stars and clouds.

Oh well.

Interesting bleeps in Company.

I'm not hating it as much as I thought I would.

I've been watching Helen Mirren in William Wycherly's comedy The Country Wife. I love Restoration comedy.  Margery Pinchwife's letter writing scene is a hoot.  Now i'm watching PWOJECT WUNWAY.

"MILLSTONE" vs. "MILESTONE"?  When did one term "become" the other?

I fear I might have something to do with that...

We watched the eclipse, when we could see it between breaks in the thick clouds. Pretty cool!

My best friend called from Savannah, where she was able to see it, sans clouds.

I think JJ is a very beautiful kitty!

My cats are "hood-free". They do scatter litter and we have to sweep up after them every day. Also, one of hte problems of living in our small house is that there's no place to put the litter box where it will be out of the way. I'm working on a solution for that.

As for tonight's "American Idol".... There were some truly painfully pitchy moments throughout tonight's performances, and it sounded like one of the young women just had no sense of pitch throughout most of her song. :-\

However, there were some decent performances, and, overall, the women chose better songs than the men did last night.

...I'll finish watching Company sometime later.  Although, I may flip back to  catch "Being Alive"... and then listen to see if I can hear myself sobbing in the eighth row.  ;)

Had a full and very ecclectic evening of viewing tonight.

I began with last night's JERICHO. Enjoyed the show, it had some nice surprises, and I'll look forward to the remaining five episodes.

That may be it, however. The ratings last night were discouraging with it finishing behind a LAW & ORDER: SVU rerun and a new episode of BOSTON LEGAL.

Next, I watched CHARLIE CHAN IN RENO. I had never seen it before, and I did not guess the identity of the murderer. Another strong transfer with some scratches on the right edge of the frame and a hair at one point. Otherwise, sharp, great black and white transfer with superb contrast. Fox really does THE best with these black and white transfers.

Crazy EBAY....I was watching these things for a few days and they got NO bids....so I bid today....and won.....

They must be at least individually worth to some collector what I paid for all three.

Check out the titles:

I watched three bonus features on the disc too. Two of them were about Reno, and the third was about one of the actresses in the film who did several Chan mysteries.

By this point, AMERICAN IDOL had been running about 52 minutes, so I flipped on the DVR recording and watched until I had caught back up with the show (at this point it was about 25 after 9). I was unimpressed with almost everyone.

I think the really pitchy one DR Jose was referring to sang "Where the Boys Are" and it was really terrible. The judges fell all over three or four of the ladies totally undeserving, I thought. A couple of the African-American women do have powerful voices, but the songs they chose tonight didn't do much to showcase that power. I guess the one who sang "Spinning Wheel" was my favorite, but honestly, I didn't go wild over anyone.

Who goes home will be interesting.
